Wasting Money to Become an Immortal-Chapter 207: Entrance to the Void Battlefield
The Heavenly Conference lasted a few days and there really didn’t seem to be a meaning to it.
After all, there was no one that was eliminated from entering the Void Battlefield because of this.
Though there were some people that did choose to not go in the end because of their own personal reasons. Namely the young masters that Mu Bao Bao had beaten up before, they chose to stay because of their embarrassment.
But there were also others who stayed because they thought that they were inferior.
As for why they felt they were inferior...
It was because of the things demonstrated at the Heavenly Conference.
But those things didn’t seem like they would matter on the Void Battlefield at all.
After all, it was named the Void Battlefield, so it should be a place where fighting skills and strength mattered the most. It shouldn’t be a place where cultural skills such as writing, composing poems, playing chess, or playing the zither mattered.
This Heavenly Conference seemed like a waste of time no matter how I looked at it.
It didn’t seem like anything that they just compared their skills in would have any effect when they went to the Void Battleground.
That was just my first thought from observing this Heavenly Conference.
However, I was actually proven wrong later.
Today, we were all gathered to head into the Void Battleground.
Though I had heard that the Void Battleground was a space in the void, I had no idea how we would be getting there. My assumption was some kind of array that would transport us there, like the Transport Array that my system gave me.
But it turned out that I was wrong.
It wasn’t an array that sent us there.
Rather it was a simple door that opened to reveal a portal.
The feeling that came from this door was different from the sensation that the Transport Array gave off when it was activated.
For some reason, the feeling that came from this door seemed similar to one of the laws that we used.
It was the Void Sword Law that both Gao Fu Shuai and I used.
Perhaps it was a door to the void that made it feel similar to the Void Sword Law.
This door was a door that was guarded by the Central Sect Alliance, but it seemed like it was portable, which was why it was in the Mount Hua Sect right now.
However, it was certainly strange to find a portable door that could lead to the Void Battlefield. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
I couldn’t help being curious as to where this door came from.
"It’s said that it’s a door that’s been passed down by the ancestors that founded the Central Sect Alliance. Even they have no idea where it came from, it’s said to be a treasure that was found one day by the forces of the Central Sect Alliance."
That was the explanation that I received from the Great Elder.
However, there was another explanation that came from Mu Huang.
"It’s something that was sent down by the Rising Thunder Upper Realm. I’ve heard that it was a toy that they found one day in one of the ruins, but they were using it to recruit talents from the lower realms. That was why they sent an entrance to several different lower realms."
"Then the monsters?" I slowly asked.
This was something that they had told us about when they explained the Void Battlefield.
Mu Huang tilted his head as if he was thinking about it for a bit before saying, "They’re most likely the geniuses from the other lower realms that have been disguised with illusion arrays."
It seemed that this Void Battlefield was more sinister than it seemed.
It seemed that this was a place where they pitted us against those from the other lower realms so they could recruit us to their upper realm.
But there was a part of this that I didn’t understand...
It just didn’t seem effective to recruit people like this.
There should be more effective and more direct methods of recruiting people, so why would they go to all this trouble just to recruit some people from the lower realm.
It didn’t seem like a smart thing for the upper realm to do.
When I asked Mu Huang this, he shook his head to show that he didn’t know either.
Even if he was the Nine Tails Emperor of an upper realm, there were still other things for him to worry about. It wasn’t as if he had the time to monitor all the moves that other upper realms made.
So it wasn’t as if he knew everything about this Void Battlefield.
Still, this gave us plenty of information to work with.
At least we knew what the real form of the Void Battlefield was and if necessary, we could take advantage of that.
But the main reason I was even going into the Void Battlefield was because of the system’s mission.
It was leading me to a specific place on the Void Battlefield, so that was the place that I was going to head to once I entered. I didn’t really care about the benefits that could be gained since I had plenty of better things.
So unlike everyone else who had nervous looks on their faces, I looked very relaxed...
It almost seemed like I was here on a picnic.
There might have been people that picked on me for looking so out of place, but no one did it this time.
Rather, they all looked at me as if they wanted to join my group.
I had already demonstrated the power that my group had, whether that was in terms of actual power or in terms of cultural power. There were many people that wanted to stick around our group, but we didn’t let anyone else join us.
Well, other than Fatty Wang who had become our friend during this time.
Just like this, we walked through the door to the Void Battlefield.
