It seemed like Mu Bao Bao’s father really didn’t learn his lesson at all about giving his daughter space.

Grandpa Bao didn’t help this time and just shook his head with a sigh before turning back to look at me.

He narrowed his eyes to look at me for a bit which made me unsure of what to make of this. But then all of a sudden, he said with a bow, "Thank you for taking care of the young miss during her time away from home. We will be sure to repay the favour one day."

I was completely taken aback when I saw this since this was the last thing that I expected from the one that Mu Bao Bao called Grandpa Bao.

Before I could say anything, there were two people who said different things.

"Grandpa Bao, what do you mean take care of me? I was the one taking care of them! Don’t you know that I’m the sect guardian beast?" Mu Bao Bao said in an aggrieved voice.

"Uncle Bao, how could you say that to the one that kidnapped our precious Bao Bao? It wouldn’t be too much to tear him to pieces!" Mu Bao Bao’s father roared out in an enraged voice.

What came next was a swift punch to the stomach that made Mu Bao Bao’s father reel over.

He held his stomach while his daughter stomped on his foot.

Grandpa Bao revealed a faint smile before standing up to say, "I’m sure that the young miss has been a handful during this time. I hope that she hasn’t been too much of a burden for you."

Mu Bao Bao looked even more aggrieved after hearing this as she puffed up her cheeks and turned her head away.

This made her father try his best to comfort her, but Grandpa Bao said in a stern voice, "Young miss, is this really a way to treat the ones that took care of you during this time?"

Mu Bao Bao trembled when she heard this before looking back at me.

After a momentary pause, she lowered her head a bit and said, "Sorry and thank you for taking care of me during this time."

I was surprised by how obedient Mu Bao Bao suddenly became.

During my time with her, she would always do whatever she wanted.

The only time that she listened was when I bribed her with food and nothing else.

But now...it was like she had turned into a meek little deer rather than being the tricky nine tailed fox that she was.

Grandpa Bao gave a satisfied nod seeing this before turning to look at me, as if he was waiting for a response from me.

It looked like Mu Bao Bao’s father wanted to say something, but he held himself back in the end. No matter how he acted, he was her father still and knew what a teachable moment for his daughter was.

After an awkward silence, I went forward and said, "It’s been interesting having you around during this time. I was happy to take care of you."

Mu Bao Bao’s face lit up when she heard this before she turned to look at Grandpa Bao to say, "See? I was doing a good job!"

Grandpa Bao nodded and said, "It seems that I was wrong about the young miss."

There was a trace of bitterness that filled me after hearing this.

Even though he had acted all stern, it seemed that even this Grandpa Bao couldn’t help spoiling Mu Bao Bao...
