Wasting Money to Become an Immortal-Chapter 126: Hunting for beasts
In no time at all, the village was filled with life.
Once the lives of those that were injured were out of danger and now that they were fed, it seemed like they were filled with energy.
To make sure that they would have places to live in the future, I also used the earth laws that I had to create a temporary shelter for them. I found that using earth laws was like using earth magic, so I was able to create a few simple structures with dirt.
Though they were called simple structures...I might have taken it a bit too far as building models had been one of the hobbies that I had gotten myself lost in in my past life.
During that period, I had spent quite a bit of money building real scale replicas of famous buildings.
One such example was an actual Japanese castle...
But of course, I didn’t take it that far.
I just made a few simple houses that had a full set of furniture in them, including appliances. Though there were no electronics in this world, they were just simple models of electronics that confused the villagers.
They were nothing more than empty cases in the end.
But for the villagers that had never seen anything like them before, they were naturally impressed. They even praised me for my design skills after seeing these fake appliances that I had come up with.
That just caused a bitter smile to appear on my face.
I realized that I had gotten too caught up in my model making and stopped after that.
It wasn’t just this village that I made these temporary lodgings for, I also went to all the other villages to check on the injured people and build temporary lodgings after the food was ready.
As we went through the villages, I received the same treatment as in this village.
So there was a lot of awkward bowing from these villagers.
There were even a few girls that wanted a better life for themselves that tried to seduce me, but this young master wasn’t that easy.
When it was all over, we gathered back at the first village to plan out our next move.
Though in reality, there wasn’t much to plan out.
I already knew what we should do.
"Village chief, now that all of your problems have been taken care of, there’s only one thing left for us to do. We’ll go and hunt down the spirit beasts that attacked your villages before."
It wasn’t just the village chief of this village or the village chief of the other villages that were concerned.
It was all of the villagers who were in this meeting that were concerned.
They might not have felt this way about us before this, but now that we’ve done all this to help them, they were filled with gratitude that they could never repay. As such, they couldn’t help feeling worried about us when I proposed that we would go hunt the spirit beasts.
That was because they didn’t know how strong we were and they had been traumatized by the spirit beast.
Even if it wasn’t as strong as they thought it was, they would think that it was much stronger than it actually was because of this trauma.
Which was why they were worried about us.
The village chief said, "Young master, is there really a need for you to do this?"
The villagers nodded in agreement as they started mimicking what the village chief said.
The village chief then said, "What’s more important is one’s life, one shouldn’t rashly give it up."
The other villagers all nodded in agreement when they heard this.
It was as if they no longer cared about their own lives, as long as we would be safe.
I really didn’t know what to say in response to this.
There was even a bitter smile that appeared on my face when I saw them like this.
After all, our original job was to come here and take care of the spirit beasts that were plaguing this area. Yet now...the villagers were actually telling us not to go after the spirit beasts.
I really didn’t know what to call this situation, but it was strange no matter how one looked at it.
It almost seemed like it would develop into something bad if I were to allow this to keep going.
So I just suddenly gave a clap to stop the village chief and the villagers before saying with a serious look, "This is the reason that we came here in the first place, so it isn’t as if we could just abandon all of you. Besides, we’re just going to take a look at the spirit beast and see what’s out there."
With a less serious and more joking look, I said, "If it really becomes dangerous, I hope that you won’t mind that we run away."
But feeling that something was off with this, I added, "Of course, if it does come to that, we’ll go back and find someone stronger to take care of this matter for you."
Though I said this, I didn’t really think that this would be necessary.
After all, there was Elder Tian here.
Elder Tian wasn’t just an elder of the ninth grade Falling Star Sect, he was also an elder of the second grade Star Peak Sect. He was someone who was considered a high level cultivator on this continent, so there shouldn’t be a problem with him here.
The villagers didn’t say anything after hearing this as they just looked at me with strange looks.
I didn’t know what it was about these looks that I didn’t like, I just knew that there was something off about the way that they looked at me...
It was almost like there was a trace of fanaticism to it.
Finally, the village chief said, "Young master, you truly are magnanimous. For a bunch of mortals like us, you’re even willing to go this far."
The villagers all started crying emotionally at this to my surprise.
I really didn’t know what to say when I saw them all like this...
