A'Rey paid no attention to those Orks.

He turned back around and bang, bang, bang viciously pummeled the Ork boss "Steel-Clamp," continuing until the mechanical gauntlet he wore was completely destroyed and his own fists were mangled and bloody.

In the distance, the other Orks stood dumbfounded as they watched Old One-Eye show such savagery in beating their boss. Their bodies trembled with fear.

He was even more terrifying than the boss!

Huh—

Steel-Clamp lay limp on the ground, barely clinging to life. The mineral-studded teeth in its mouth had been knocked out entirely.

Among Orks—particularly high-ranking Orks—if a loser's teeth were smashed and taken, it signified the victor's humiliation of the weak, making the vanquished unable to lift their head in shame.

Steel-Clamp had suffered all of that and accepted that he was no match for Old One-Eye.

A'Rey slowly stood up, his single scarlet eye flickering coldly. He raised his mechanical claw and aimed it at Steel-Clamp.

A small tongue of flame danced at the nozzle.

If he pulled the trigger, a burst of highly flammable gas would pour out and burn this xenos to death!

"No…"

Frightened, Steel-Clamp shielded its face with its hands, letting out a whimper. Its mouth quivered, and it no longer had the will to resist.

A'Rey spat at it, his face contorted in anger. "Tch, you got lucky this time!"

He decided to spare the creature's life.

Because His Excellency the Savior had instructed him that, as long as it didn't affect the broader war effort, they could let the Ork boss live.It would help with future plans to clear out the warp-demons in the Webway.

A'Rey then thunk delivered another punch to Steel-Clamp before staggering, nearly spent from the intense battle.

By sheer force of will, he propped himself up, grabbed Steel-Clamp by the leg, and dragged it out of the camp.

A long trail was scraped into the ground behind them.

Up ahead, countless Orks clustered together.

AA'Rey rri took a deep breath. He really had no strength left to fight. If this horde suddenly attacked, it would be a major problem.

Yet he showed no fear, dragging Steel-Clamp forward.

His Excellency needed the Ork boss; A'Rey had to bring it back!

Seeing Old One-Eye dragging their own boss along, a bunch of heads still hanging from his belt and swaying gruesomely, the Orks felt even more terror.Rustle, rustle—

One after another, they stepped aside, making a path for A'Rey.

In the Ork worldview, there is but one principle: "Might makes right."

They believe the weak must submit to the strong.

Old One-Eye had bested their boss in a fair fight, so frighteningly powerful and unstoppable that it robbed them of any courage to oppose him.

Thus, A'Rey dragged Steel-Clamp out of the camp, passing through the Orks' awestruck stares.

The moment he was gone, the Orks dropped their weapons and slumped to the ground, leaderless and aimless, with no will to organize an attack.

News spread fast through the Ork settlement, and soon they all knew their boss had been thrashed senseless by the terrifying Old One-Eye, losing all its teeth in the process.

They became utterly convinced that Old One-Eye was invincible.

This devastating blow left the Orks visibly depressed. They tossed away their weapons and crawled back into their huts like a bunch of lifeless fish.

The Ork settlement had been crushed!

Mining City.Temporary Command Hall.

Dim lighting filled the space; the smell of roasted meat wafted through the air.

"Savior, sir, the meat is done roasting! Please taste it," Big Barrel said ingratiatingly as he hustled over with a platter of meat. His face was plastered with a sycophantic grin.

Eden eyed Big Barrel's cringing face and thought to himself that this guy's shamelessness was on par with that black-hearted Kaul.

"Why are you being so eager? Is there some ulterior motive you're not telling me?"

Big Barrel gave a silly grin and rubbed his hands. "No motive, really. It's just… I've got a bit of intel to report…"

Eden grabbed a piece of roast and took a bite, finding it surprisingly well-prepared—flavorful and chewy! He spoke through a full mouth, "Alright, out with it."

"Not too long ago, our Chapter's founding request got approved. I'm quite pleased with it all," Big Barrel said carefully, as if treading on thin ice. "But the Navy only allocated a single frigate for us—just one. I evaluated it, and well… that's not ideal for our operations. Wouldn't you say so?"

"Chapter?"

Eden was momentarily lost. He had been too busy dealing with the Webway to pay attention to that matter.

He pulled out his data-slate for a quick check and soon found the formal documents establishing the new Chapter.

According to the documents, the Department of Military Affairs had approved the founding of a new Chapter named "Children of Humanity."

Big Barrel would serve as Chapter Master.

All the other warriors were also created using Big Barrel's gene-seed. They shared his ravenous appetite and powerful digestive system.

Basically, they were combat chefs who could eat just about anything and keep going—very durable with strong growth potential, able to chow their way across the galaxy.

Currently, the Chapter only had about twenty Space Marines in total, though new gene-seed was about to mature, which would soon double their numbers.

Since it was a small Chapter, the Department of Military Affairs only assigned them a large frigate, about two kilometers long, as their flagship.

Eden stroked his chin. "Well, I suppose a frigate does seem a bit too small…"

He had high hopes for this special Chapter, given that its gene-seed had remarkable potential, clearly superior to most standard Space Marines.

And by Eden's earlier plan, once the "Children of Humanity" formed, they'd have the freedom to roam the galaxy at will—independent development, self-reliant for resources.

How far they could grow would depend on their own abilities.

Eden looked up at Big Barrel. "So you want a bigger ship for the Children of Humanity, huh? What sort of size?"

"I'll let you decide, sir," Big Barrel replied sheepishly. "But if possible… of course, the bigger, the better…"

"Let me think…"

Eden lowered his head and slid his fingers over the data-slate, reviewing the Navy's current warship roster.

Under Big Barrel's expectant gaze, Eden finally spoke: "Alright, how about this: pick out one of the available cruisers to serve as your flagship."

At this point, the Navy Fleet had taken over the old Imperial Sector Fleet, with a main battle force of twenty-six capital ships, including one battleship and twenty-five cruisers.

As for Dreamweaver, it was personally owned by Eden and didn't belong to any specific department.

Because the territory had expanded so rapidly, the Navy Fleet was short on manpower. Four cruisers currently lay idle. They could spare one to give away.

"Praise the Savior!"

Big Barrel nodded excitedly. Eden's promise meant he could pick out a cruiser at his leisure and no one would dare say otherwise.

"But don't celebrate too early. This cruiser is basically on loan to you."

Eden added, "In the future, you'll have to repay the Navy Fleet the equivalent value in resources for the cruiser…"

The Children of Humanity was a small Chapter with far greater autonomy. Handing them a six-or-seven-kilometer-long cruiser right off the bat was quite a special favor.

After all, equipping them with a cruiser meant a huge support staff. A cruiser requires at least several hundred thousand crew, plus everything else to support the Chapter—a minimum of five hundred thousand people. That's basically a small kingdom.

Giving that much to a Chapter barely twenty Marines strong was a bit extravagant.

Hence Eden's decision not to give it away free, but to set it up as a loan. Those resources would need to be paid back eventually.

"No problem!"

Big Barrel nodded repeatedly, not the least bit concerned about any of that. As long as he got a big ship, it was fine by him.

Of course, there was some pressure as well. The Children of Humanity would start off deeply in debt. They'd have to scramble to gather enough resources later on!

"Alright, hold on a moment. Please try my newest dish!"

Big Barrel bustled back to the grill, apron on, continuing to busy himself.

Well, well.

This chubby guy really was holding back a trick or two. If Eden hadn't agreed to the bigger ship, would he have refused to serve him?

That made Eden see Big Barrel in a new light.

Superficially, the big guy looked honest. In reality, he was on the same cunning path as Kaul—only better at pretending.

Before long, Big Barrel brought over his freshly prepared Ork cuisine.

"Aren't these undercooked?" Eden stared at the plate of bloody, spiced chunks of meat, feeling a bit queasy.

"Oh, that's the dish's specialty. I assure you, it's thoroughly cooked, and there's nothing harmful in it!"

Big Barrel sounded utterly confident.

The meat had been frozen at ultra-low temperatures, then rapidly brought to high heat. It looked raw on the outside but was, in fact, completely "cooked."

In other words, it was "frozen-cooked meat."

Not only did it kill off any parasites, bacteria, or other harmful elements, but it also made the meat's texture even firmer and tastier.

Phew… Fine. Since he already went through all this trouble, Eden figured he'd try at least a bite or two.

Besides, given Eden's physique, even if he bit into raw Ork flesh or other mild contaminants, he could digest it just fine. He wasn't worried about any potential effects on his body.

Stabbing a chunk of meat with a fork, Eden took a bite and was pleasantly surprised.

It was indeed quite good—springy, fresh, and unique in flavor, better than typical meat cuts.

Eden gave Big Barrel a thumbs-up, praising his cooking before going back for more.

Just as he was savoring the meal, mouth dripping with juices—

Thump, thump, thump—

A heavy footstep sounded.

Along with it came a stench of blood, as A'Rey walked into the hall and dumped the Ork boss Steel-Clamp onto the floor.

Then he bowed his head."Savior, sir, here's the xeno boss you wanted…"

"Excellent work!"

Eden forced down the morsel of Ork flesh he'd been chewing, giving some genuine praise.

Capturing the Ork boss basically sealed victory in this war.

He looked up at A'Rey, who still had numerous Ork skulls dangling all over him, dripping with blood. It was a disturbing sight.

Seeing this, Eden quietly shoved the plate of Ork meat away. He suddenly didn't feel that hungry anymore.

On the ground, Steel-Clamp stared in shock. The unstoppable Old One-Eye was actually showing submission to another human.

But the moment it turned its gaze to Eden, its pupils shrank.

Sitting atop a sort of throne in the hall was a massive figure: an even bigger, blood-red single eye, clad in fearsome armor with bold red, green, and yellow paint.

The look was so similar that Steel-Clamp instantly realized this must be Old One-Eye's leader.

And definitely more terrifying and more powerful.

Even more frightening was the intense Ork "scent" in the air—this big boss was eating Ork flesh raw!

He was…an Ork Devourer!

Seeing that, Steel-Clamp's fear of him surpassed what it felt for Old One-Eye.

Eden rose from his seat, overlooking everyone in the hall.

Thanks to special modifications in his massive Ork-style power armor, he stood over four meters tall and far bulkier, akin to a terrifying super-Ork at the moment.

Finally, he could execute the last step of his plan.

In high spirits, Eden approached the Ork boss Steel-Clamp, intending to find a way to make the giant Ork yield.

But as he got closer…

He saw the Ork boss trembling uncontrollably, lowering its head.

"N-no… d-don't eat me!"

Steel-Clamp stared at the floor, voice trembling, as if Eden were some monstrous fiend.

"So… it's already submitting. Guess it got spooked by me eating Ork meat."

Big Barrel had really come through this time!

Eden felt it was quite unexpected, noting how the Ork boss's physique looked a lot smaller than before.

Probably A'Rey's brutal beating had left it traumatized, and then seeing Eden munch on Ork meat had pushed it over the edge. Its once fierce mentality was now shattered.

Eden gently placed his hand on Steel-Clamp's shoulder. "As long as you do what I say, I won't eat you…"

No sense scaring the poor thing to death; it was going to be quite useful against the demons.

Meanwhile, Eden sensed a special psychic energy flowing into him, making him feel even stronger, as though he could easily crush the Ork boss.

"So this is the power known as 'I Finkz…'?"

It really was remarkable. Essentially a kind of temporary blessing requiring almost no cost at all.

If the Orks kept winning battles, they'd continue to grow under that power's effect, becoming monstrously strong.

Established Ork hordes could stand toe-to-toe with the Tyranid swarms, even making daemons think twice.

Some of their champions have been known to smash through a Space Marine's power armor with their bare hands.

Truly one of the galaxy's top-tier war races.

Fortunately, that power was about to become Eden's!

He lifted his hand and pressed it to the Ork boss's head, channeling energy from the Small Sun to breach the Ork's psychic network.

Having already infiltrated Tzeentch's warp network once, Eden was well-practiced by now.

Moreover, at that moment he was already under the influence of the Orkish "I Finkz…" power—that is, the Ork's latent psychic field.

Thus the infiltration went incredibly smoothly, meeting almost no resistance.

In no time, Eden's psychic consciousness entered the network.

Though it was also a "local network," it differed significantly from Tzeentch's warp network.

If Tzeentch's network could be likened to a web of interlinked nodes, then the Ork psychic network was more like a towering structure of countless stacked nodes.

A sort of gestalt design.

Within it were innumerable points of light, each representing a single Ork.

There were more nodes on the lower layers, fewer as one climbed upward, forming a giant tower.

Every time Orks won a battle, their personal node ascended higher, gaining a greater share of the network's power.

The power would in turn feed back into reality, making them stronger.

Eden steered his psychic presence upward, swiftly occupying the largest, brightest node that symbolized the Ork boss.

And with that, the entire Ork psychic network came under his control.

More interestingly, the Orks harnessed the network unconsciously, while he could consciously manipulate it—meaning he could exploit its potential far more.

"That settles it. The Ork horde on Kanda belongs to me now!"

Eden felt triumphant, continuing to explore the network. He could sense more Ork nodes scattered through the void—other Ork hordes out there.

Anytime he defeated another horde, he could merge their network, forming a bigger one.

That was how powerful Ork warlords became unstoppable, subjugating other hordes and fusing networks, amplifying their "I Finkz…" power.

Of course, Eden could tell this particular horde was among the weaker ones in the void.

But that was okay; with the resources of an entire sector behind him, he was confident he could rear them into something more formidable.

A real Ork "farming" project, so to speak.

Suddenly, Eden felt a surge of pressure. His psychic presence shot upward, and what he saw made him cry out:

"Damn!"

He could see two colossal musclebound male shadows posing above the entire cosmic domain.

"That must be Gork and Mork…"

Those Ork gods towered so vast that every Ork in existence could see them.

Fortunately, they existed only in legend and never interfered in Ork fights.

Eden turned his focus to the edges of the network and spotted A'Rey's psychic projection—a single glowing red eye, pincers for hands, Ork skulls dangling around it.Even more menacing than in reality.

Reading its data, he saw: "Old One-Eye who loves beheading, can't be killed, and kills Orks with a glare."

Then Eden spotted another presence that dwarfed even that—a hulking figure about ten times bigger.

It was none other than Eden himself.

In the Orks' psychic vision, Eden wore savage Ork-style power armor, gnawing on an Ork's leg with blood dripping everywhere.

Brutal, ferocious, downright terrifying—something that would scare Ork kids to tears.

He probed its information. The label was simple: "Brother Eden, who eats any Ork that doesn't obey."

Brother Eden, or "Eden Bro" in Ork terms, placed on the same pedestal as Gork and Mork!

"Don't tell me… I've become a deity to these Orks?"

With a thought, Eden attempted a quick check.

Sure enough, the Small Sun now harbored faint Orkish faith.

While overshadowed by the rest, it would gradually expand in power as these Orks themselves grew.

As his image in that cosmic psychic space grew more towering, other Ork hordes in the galaxy might someday see him as well, granting him a chance to become their god!

Eden reflected that over time he had somehow amassed the faith of multiple races.

From humanity at first, then Tzeentch daemons, now Orks.

He even had infiltration from a demon in Khorne's realm thanks to the cunning infiltration by that demon Balor, who'd ended up with some Chaos worship for Eden.

Then the Goddess of Life had given him a large portion of life essence, indirectly granting him a sliver of Eldar deific power.

Though he wasn't currently receiving any worship from the Eldar, it still counted in a sense.

Wow.

Bit by bit, the Small Sun had fused these disparate powers into one swirling cauldron. If they all reached maturity, it'd give him multiple layers of empowerment.

He just hoped it wouldn't cause side effects…

At least for now, the faith of mankind was still the overriding majority within the Small Sun.

In any event, Eden was ultimately a "pure" human god, a benevolent, compassionate deity!

A fleeting curiosity touched his thoughts.

Gods had no single fixed image. Each group of believers saw them differently.

But he had never seriously investigated how his followers viewed him.

"Why not take a look now?"
