Wait, What You Mean I Got Reincarnated As A Heroine In Another World?-Chapter 15 - Transmigration
Chapter 15 - 15 - Transmigration
Not long after she replied with such a snarky remark, Mytheia device once again dimmed its glows.
"Instead of telling you, let me show you the truth behind the mechanism of your transmigration."
Show, don't tell taken too literally indeed...
I had thought that to myself, referring to what had been unveiled thus far with things like DNA and its relation to magic. However, I wasn't satisfied and instead asking her yet another question.
"Off-topic but how much do you know about this Mytheia device?"
I have had a suspicion from this earlier. From the way Helen... I mean, Professor Helena used it as if she was using a manual book akin to the way this socially inept walking encyclopedia had done so thus far. Apparently, there seemed to be quite a distinction between both in terms of Mytheia's usage. As if-
"You were right."
No no no, I haven't even finished. What do you even mean by that? Did you just pre-move my conclusion a chess game or something?
Perhaps, I shouldn't have made this kind of internal monologue in front of her. But it couldn't be helped when curiosity did get you, for it to be a monster disguised as a wisdom. Once you got into the abyss, it's over for you. I went too philosophical and might break this NPC AI in front of me again, didn't I?
By the time of her 'reading' those, she sighed. Disappointment clear on her face.
"You... maybe please quit with all of these unnecessary overthinking elements, will you?"
Hey, you were the one who pulled me into this.
"I don't care. Just tell me."
"Well, isn't that obvious? I'm the one who invented it."
Of course... I was waiting for that answer.
Her face remained steady, but perhaps she was being haughty inside with all of her arrogance. Who knows.
"Does this have anything to do with the 'miracle' you mentioned it earlier?"
Ariadne's thread method really is useful when it comes to this...
I was gauging her reactions, yet I couldn't find any to point out. She had been this composed since the first... no, fourth if counting her deceptions by far. The truth is, I was curious if all of these had anything to do with the previous topics.
"Obviously."
No, you don't get it.
Arghhh, I wonder why I felt like I was talking to a broken casette right now. Duh, maybe I should find a way to make her speak more.
"And... why? Do you know something about it?"
She sighed once more, now looking down on me. Seriously, what did I do to her, really?
"Such a shame, I thought you were better at this."
Nah, not sure what you were trying to refer as 'better' here if you haven't explained anything so far. I have had a conviction about this, but if Kairi said something crucial, I would solve this out.
"Are you perhaps treating my answers as some kind of clues? Intriguing."
I got caught... intentionally. Perhaps this was the only way to determine a villain's ulterior motive.
"If you want it so badly then yes, it has something to do with the previous topic."
Yep, that's it...
So, not only Mytheia was a device she invented, but also the fact I had been sent to another world due to this device too.
"Once again, you were right. I'm totally impressed... but don't you want to know the chronology and mechanism too?"
I nodded immediately, not wanting to delay her explanation this time.
"Alright so... your so-called 'deduction' was more or less correct, but the truth is Mytheia had been used as a device to decipher 'miracle.' And such a 'miracle' then is considered to be the mechanism of magic. Therefore, 'miracle' or science is in-truth the mechanism of magic."
Okay, how was that actually obvious? Hindsight-bias from my side or something?
Apparently, the hindsight already suggested it earlier but maybe I overlooked it. However, I would rather cut-off these overthinking stuff for her own demonstration immediately.
"So, are you ready?"
The most uptodate nove𝙡s are published on frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓.
Once again, I nodded. I perhaps may have prevented the plot from moving forward. Wait, that sounds quite familiar... never mind, forget it.
"Alright then."
Instantaneously, she had shown the Mytheia device brightened its glows once again. But this time, it was quite an eyesore-inducing one, so much so I was reminded by my tragic 'death.' And soon after its glow dimmed slowly but sure, I saw Selene murmuring something while walking around the circle that she had drawn.
Is this the ritual? Doesn't look like it.
Upon my observation, she moved all of her body parts. From head down to toe. Not only that she went circling, she also shook his head while doing something similar to exercising, which was the move that allowed us to do sports basically.
"Uh, sports? Exercise? Are those some kind of rituals?"
Ah, shit. Here we go again.
I thought I had told you not to question anything that gotten into your curiosity, didn't I? Also, stop misinterpreting these stuff, they are not rituals, what the actual f*ck.
"Eh, I was rather curious about the last word too but sure, if that's what you asked for."
No, not even that one, you kiddo. Listen, this is why you shouldn't pry into someone's privacy by reading their mind. Now, stop minding that and ignore those terms. This is for the best.
"Okay, enough. Let's get into the details. Was this the ritual or what? Why it looked like what humans commonly do in their daily basis?"
She titled her head slightly, chin propped up, perhaps pondering on my question.
"So, are those movements what humans normally do? If that's so, then it makes sense. I did that to ensure the magic energy's circulation coursing through my body. Regular magicians normally don't do that because they are still able to use the magic without any form of rituals. However, during the ritual, you will have to move that much because you are going to be connected with something divine, which is the 'miracle', something that is believed to contradict magic. Anyway, after done walking around the circle, I stood on the middle of circle then repeated the spell to seal the magic energy, which was exactly what I showed you previously when posing as Professor."
Hm, so exercise indeed is vital for human beings...
I thought as I was getting into these things. Doesn't that mean magic indeed is connected to science, the so-called miracle? Anyway, this explanation was a bit too long-winded and somewhat beating around the bush. Well, not that I'm complaining.
"You were right. Magic indeed is connected with science. However, that's not what I have been trying to explain here."
I carefully listened to her so-called 'lecture' which would have been more significant had it become a thesis titled "On Magic & Science: The Discovery of Miracle" with a public seminar format and some kind of catchy presentation to attract me. Yes, that's what I'd been visualizing upon hearing her explanation.
"What you called as 'transmigration' does connect with the vessel exchange we have done. Your soul wandered to mine because of this ritual I performed. And to explain it even further, reincarnation was possible because your soul identified yours as the most compatible. Magic then works according to the principle of science to perform this exchange by transferring your own consciousness to my vessel. However, this doesn't mean you did become myself. Your history did blend to mine, and they are combined into a form of amalgmation whereas you have had my history partially, but also mine in this world. For instance, the part where it said you were a healer prodigy is true for you, but not for me. This consequence leads to the situation whereas you have my vessel, but not for your own consciousness. In other words, you were transmigrated, experiencing soul's modification to mold into my vessel, later on shaping this experience by a certain bond connection as a result of this exchange."
ABSOLUTE CINEMA.
Not gonna lie, this was kind of boring but this info-dump approach in-fact explained everything... I had been suspicious by the fact her background as a great mage didn't fit mine that was regarded as a prodigy healer. However, I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact she wanted to live in my world.
