Villain's Rising-Chapter 63 63. Apocalypse
-BOOM!
-BOOM!
-BOOM!
It was a battle between espers. Esper is a term for a person with psychic abilities.
Telekinesis, Space Manipulation, Vector Manipulation. All of these broken ability holders were fighting by using their abilities to their full potential.
Luke and Micheal were trying to stand their ground against Lucas. Although it was 2v1, Lucas’ offense was unstoppable.
“Spatial drift!” Micheal shouted and teleported right behind Lucas in the blink of an eye.
Seeing the opportunity, Luke used his Telekinesis to lift a tree from the ground up to its roots and threw it toward Lucas.
Lucas, with a smile on his face, stood his ground.
“Distortion!” Micheal shouted and clenched his fist. The fabric of space around Micheal’s fist distorted as he threw a punch at the light red-haired boy in front of him.
“Pathetic.” That’s all Lucas muttered before dodging Michael’s punch hit him. However, nothing happened to Lucas, instead, Micheal was sent flying back. The force that Michael put behind his attack was reflected on him.
The ordeal wasn’t over, however. In the next moment, the tree hit Lucas directly, but instead of crushing him, the tree was torn into shreds like a piece of paper..
Luke was left wide-eyed after seeing the unimaginable strength of the Redwing boy. How can someone be that strong? How can he alone fight 1v2 with such proficiency?
His strength shouldn’t have come off as a surprise since Lucas did break Starboy’s arm in the dueling practice, a feat not many could hope to achieve.
“That’s all?” Lucas asked, smirking arrogantly. “That’s all you both can do? One with Telekinesis and one with the power to manipulate Space?”
“Why don’t you let me invite one more person to the party and then I dare you to repeat your words…” Micheal said while shakingly getting up on his legs.
“Are you seriously suggesting 1vs3 right now? As if what we’re doing right now isn’t fair to you?” Lucas said in a ‘are you serious bruh’ tone.
“Leave it, Micheal, we can win this!” Luke said, all fired up.
He wasn’t using his ability to his full potential yet. In fact, he never uses his ability to its full potential.
But right then, he instinctively knew that he couldn’t hold back against Lucas Redwing if he hoped to come out of this battle victorious. If he hoped to get to the second round of the Special Exam. If he hoped to escape community service!
Luke pulled back his arm and focused his ability directly on Lucas’ body.
Luke’s ability is to move things with the power of his will. On the surface, it might sound like a plain ability but in reality, with just one thought he could snap someone’s neck off.
It’s a dangerous ability and Luke had some past trauma connected to his ability. That’s one of the reasons Luke doesn’t use his ability on people directly.
However, Luke couldn’t tolerate it anymore.
He used his ability and willed for Lucas’ leg to twist as he threw his hand forward and grabbed the air. He planned to disqualify Lucas from the exam by injuring him.
…But nothing happened. Five seconds went by and nothing happened!
“What are you doing grabbing air, man?” Finally breaking the silence, Lucas spoke with a vicious smile plastered on his face.
“H-How… How can it be? You can’t see my Telekinesis, then how did you manipulate its vectors?” Shocked beyond belief, Luke spoke, demanding an explanation.
“Haha! Nice question, you see where Vector Manipulation and Telekinesis are very similar abilities in usage. But where you insert external force into the system, I just manipulate what forces are already present in the world.” Lucas replied as he took some steps forward toward Luke.
“Wait… I see!” Finally, Luke understood how Lucas was able to deflect his attack.
Although Lucas can’t see Luke’s Telekinetic attacks, he can just sense them since it’ll disrupt the already present forces in the world.
“You’re a smart one, I may recommend you to master.” That’s all Lucas said before he threw a punch at the boy standing in front of him.
But his fist couldn’t hit him as his body instantly blinked out of existence and disappeared resulting in Lucas’ fist meeting nothing but air.
Slightly annoyed, Lucas remembered there was one more variable. He turned around and his eyes met Micheal’s. Beside Micheal was Luke standing with his guard up.
“Tsk, your space wrapping is annoying.” Lucas voiced his annoyance, before slamming his foot very hard on the ground.
The force that was created by his foot-stomping the ground was then enhanced by him and was used to lift several nearby trees by their roots, much like how Luke did earlier except Lucas lifted at least a few dozen of trees into the air.
Instantly, Lucas clapped and the sound force enhanced him again. All the trees shot toward Micheal and Luke in the next moment with incomprehensible speed.
-Swoosh!
-Swoosh!
-Swoosh!
Panicked, Luke tried to create a Telekinetic barrier but before he could do so, Micheal swapped their places with Lucas in the blink of an eye.
Before Lucas could understand what had happened, he found himself standing in the way of several incoming trees that he himself had thrown.
“Tsk,” Clicking his tongue, Lucas slammed his foot on the ground again and this time he flew up in the air, avoiding the incoming barrage of trees.
“Now you’ve done it!” Lucas shouted and lifted his hand in the air. As soon as he did that, the wind started blowing.
Micheal was out of breath and his nose was bleeding so he didn’t notice what Like did. The wind was swirling around Lucas’ raised hand, creating a vortex.
“Is he throwing a tornado at us?!” Terrified, Luke voiced his worry out loud.
However, what Lucas was planning was much worse than that.
The wind started compressing around his hand, creating a ball of condensed plasma within a few seconds.
When Luke caught up to what Lucas was planning to do, his eyes widened.
“Micheal, get us out of here! This maniac is planning to throw a fucking plasma beam at us!” Luke yelled.
“I’ve got a better idea…” Micheal replied. He was still out of breath. He was fighting for too long and manipulating space was not an easy task. “I’ll let him taste his own attack!”
Lucas dropped his hand and aimed at the two of his opponents on the ground. In the next moment, the ball of plasma broke out and a plasma beam was unleashed on the two of them.
As soon as the plasma beam was unleashed on them, Micheal activated his ability and willed to wrap the fabric space around them and the floating boy in the air.
Yes, he was planning to swap places with Lucas again.
…But again, just like with Luke nothing happened this time around either. ƒ𝓇e𝙚𝔀𝐞𝚋𝓃𝐨𝘷e𝙡.𝒄𝗼m
“What?!” Lucas widened his eyes, he didn’t know how his space swapping failed but he tried to get him and Luke out of the incoming plasma beam’s way, but it was too late.
He knew he couldn’t teleport them away in time. Was this it? They’re getting out of the exam? And Micheal didn’t even get to meet his brother!
Just as Micheal was trapped in his train of thoughts, the plasma beam hit them, marking Micheal close his eyes.
But after a moment when Micheal didn’t feel anything, he opened his eyes and saw that the plasma beam was refracting around them. Like an invisible barrier was protecting them.
Turning his head to his right, Micheal saw Luke with his hands raised. He was using his Telekinesis to create a barrier and protect them.
“I-I can’t hold them for much l-longer… Get us out of here, Micheal!” Luke yelled.
Micheal nodded and placed his hand on Luke’s shoulder before activating his ability.
He was planning to teleport them at least a few kilometers away. Because he didn’t know the geography of this island, there was a chance that he could teleport them somewhere dangerous.
But Micheal was ready to take his chances. Besides, what could be worse than a manic shooting a plasma cannon at them?!
However, before Micheal could teleport him and Luke away, an authoritative voice reverberated in the atmosphere.
“Dismiss!” The voice shouted.
As soon as it happened, Luke’s Telekinetic barrier went down, but along with it, Lucas’ plasma beam disappeared into thin air. Not only that but Micheal’s attempt at teleportation was also mysteriously stopped.
Frowning, everyone looked in the direction from where the voice came from.
“Who the fuck are you?!” Getting his feet back on the ground, Lucas asked irritatingly at the appearance of a new variable.
The ‘new variable’ was a boy with golden hair and blue eyes. A handsome face but the aura he was radiating could only be described as murderous.
“Who am I? Let’s just say I’m the end of this world!” Dramatically raising his hand in the air, the boy replied. “I’m Apocalypse!”
