Villain's Harem Returns-Chapter 35: A New Leader
Chapter 35: A New Leader
As Draven focused his hearing, stretching his senses to hear any movements from above, the hurried footsteps seized.
The words that he spoke telepathically to all of those in the inn seemed to frighten those who were not used to experiencing such powers.
Serena still stood with her scythe in hand, as it dripped blood onto the ground.
There were a few whispers heard from the floor above, as well as wails of agony, most likely coming from the man who had gotten his leg severed.
Then, finally, the group began to slowly make their way downstairs and into Draven’s sight.
He was right; there were five of them.
The vampire who stood out to Draven most was a woman, who also seemed to be the most powerful of the group.
Is she their leader?
Her hair was brown and curled at its ends as it reached to her shoulders. Her eyes shun a great red, and she wore an outfit hardly fit for the Western weather. It was composed of loose-fitting trousers and a thin fabric wrapped around her chest, trying its best to cover her large breasts.
But it hardly did the job. They were practically bulging from the covering.
On her waist were two short swords, which seemed to be shrouded in blood. She had planned to fight but ultimately decided against it.
There were others with her, including a single-legged man who was being carried by two others.
And as the group laid eyes on Draven, they froze in place. The Vampire Lord could feel the fear running through them.
It was no surprise that they knew who he was. Draven was the most notorious figure in vampire history, paintings had been drawn of him, depicting his greatest battles and feats.
"Dr-.... Lord Draven." The woman said in disbelief. "So the rumours are true."
He could feel their fears rising inside of them as they tried their best to step backwards, putting distance between themselves and the Lord.
Draven didn’t bother smiling at them as he usually would. He found himself growing angry.
Angry at the prospect of a group of vampires hiding away from the Noctaris Clan, so secluded that they did not even know whether or not their ruler had woken up.
Without wasting any time, Draven commanded them in a stern tone.
"Kneel."
Thud.
Four of the vampires fell to their knees, even the one who had lost his leg from the calf. He winced at the pain, and sweat fell from his head, blood oozing from the wound.
It was a clean cut, but he would most likely die soon.
Serena could heal such wounds, but she did not care to. Instead, she looked at the group of vampires, scythe still clutched tightly in her grip.
One person, however, did not bend the knee.
"Do you have a death wish?" He asked the woman, who had refused to kneel.
It seemed as though it took all her might to stop herself from following his orders. Her heart beat fast and sweat beaded on her forehead.
"P-please, Lord Draven, forgive me, but our ruler has ordered me but one thing...and that was to never bend the knee to nobody, regardless of who it was." She stuttered as she spoke the words, confidence betraying her.
Draven lifted his hand back and let out an uncontrollable laugh, that seemed to fill everyone in the room with discomfort.
After he was finished, he looked back at the immodestly dressed Vampire.
"You have but one leader, and that is I."
He dashed forward at a speed so fast that no one in the room would have been able to comprehend it.
A split second later, he had the woman’s throat in his hands, and he squeezed tightly as he lifted her from the ground.
Her legs flapped about as she tried her best to pry his hands from her neck, but her efforts were futile.
Draven watched as her face began to turn red.
"You’ll take me to this ’leader’ of yours, and based on what I see, I will decide whether or not you will survive to see the next day."
He squeezed tighter, bringing her so close to unconsciousness. Her group of vampires watched, fearful of the Lord before them.
"Do I make myself clear?"
The woman nodded her head as best as she could.
Thud.
She was thrown to the floor like a doll, as she gasped for air.
"Good. Well, let’s get going."
Draven began to make his way towards the door with his Nocturnal Knights sticking close by his side.
But just before he reached the door, he turned around.
"Oh, and kill the legless man. He will slow us down."
The wounded man’s eyes began to bulge from their sockets as he stared at Draven in disbelief.
"W-wait. No, I promise I won’t slow you-"
With no hesitation, Serena danced forward and swung her scythe in a great arc, taking the man’s head from his shoulders.
The others recoiled, fearful of the remorselessness of Serena.
Draven flashed her a pleased smile, which filled her with pride.
Blood sprayed from the man’s neck.
You make an excellent companion, Serena.

Once outside, The woman and her entourage silently led Draven and his group further west, taking them out of the town and passing the borders of the Fairies.
Everything on this side of the world was truly beautiful.
The colours of the grass and flowers seemed to be more vibrant than everywhere else. The wood of the trees was of all different types of colours, and the animals of the land were mystical creatures, only able to be found in the west.
In the distance, Draven spotted one of the Three Trees, home to the Third Fairy Queen, Ressa. ƒrēenovelkiss.com
Its height was so high that even Draven struggled to see its peak.
The wood was light grey, and the tree leaves were a vibrant red that seemed to glow with some sort of radiant energy.
"We’re not far now." The woman said as she continued to lead them through fields.
Serena, Maya, Oprah and Sakura remained close by Draven’s side, engaging in small talk.
It was a strangely peaceful journey, despite having practically captured a group of deserters.
After a few more minutes of travelling, they came to an opening in the earth.
It seemed to be a cave made from a dark red stone. The insides were dim, hardly any light shining from the inside, but Vampires had enhanced vision.
The woman led the group inside, navigating the darkness with familiarity. All that could be heard was the footsteps tapping against the stones and water dripping from above and into a puddles below.
As they continued further into the depths of the dark cave, Draven began to feel a presence somewhere in the distance.
It wasn’t a person, so it hurt his head again to try and sense it.
Another Magic Veil.
So this is how they managed to go unnoticed for so long.
But that brought another question to his mind.
"Why were you in the town?" He asked the group leading him.
The woman was the one who answered, clearly the leader of their small squad.
"We were running out of food. Our leader had sent us out to hunt."
Ahh, I see.
So I managed to prevent another massacre.
Of course, unlike the Noctaris vampires who grew their blood in their red gardens, this group had no such resources. They had gathered nourishment the old-fashioned way.
Through humans.

The further they walked, the closer the presence that Draven felt began to feel.
Finally, they came to a wooden door built directly into a cave wall.
The Veil Entrance.
The Nocturnal Knights all clutched onto their weapons. They had no idea what or who could possibly lie on the other side.
But the leader of their group held out their arms in an attempt to ease their nerves.
"Please, there’s really no need. Our leader will not be hostile, especially once they see Lord Draven."
Her attempt only made the Nocturnal knights clutch their weapons tighter.
They would never take such risks, especially if it potentially put Draven even in the most minor of dangers.
Then, after realising that they would not withdraw their weapons, the woman pushed the door open.
Instantly, Draven felt a stronger presence wash over him.
One that was too powerful.
He physically recoiled, caught off guard.
Who on Velhalla is this? How have they managed to hide here for so long?
Noticing his reaction, the Nocturnal Knights paused, raising their weapons in preparation for what was to come.
Draven felt the presence slowly making its way towards them.
Tap, tap, tap.
Footsteps came from behind the darkness of the door until a finally, a figure emerged.
It was a woman.
Her skin was brown, and her hair was in white dreadlocks that fell past her back.
She wore tight white robes that complimented her curvy figure. She wore no weapon, yet Draven could tell she was powerful.
Her red eyes glared at Draven, as she held a slight smirk on her face.
Then, she bowed her head towards him.
"My Lord," she said, tone firm and seductive. "it’s a pleasure to meet you."
