Villains Act Shamelessly: The Heiress was the Great National Master!-Chapter 85: Daring to Befriend Landon Ford
Zia Sutton was silent: "Really?"
If he hadn’t caught Landon Ford sending Thea Shaw home several times.
He would have believed Thea’s nonsense too.
Thea Shaw: "If it’s not like that, then what? You’re my brother, don’t you trust me?"
Zia let out a laugh: "Then explain why Landon always sends you home?"
"Just because you caught us twice doesn’t mean always. I find you men love to exaggerate."
"..." Zia paused for a moment and continued: "Don’t dodge the question, just tell me what your relationship with him is now?"
"Friends, okay? I’m an adult, can’t I make friends?" said Thea with conviction: "What kind of dirty thoughts do you have in your minds?"
Zia rolled his eyes: "I didn’t say anything yet, befriending Landon, haha." He sneered: "You dare!"
Then Zia hung up the phone.
Thea: "..."
Are rich kids always so rebellious and profound?
What did Zia mean by his last sentence?
Fortunately, the rich kids’ circle knew, but the elders were still in the dark. That afternoon, Mrs. Sutton came back and didn’t mention Thea at all.
Seeing Thea studiously attending classes gave her quite the sense of relief.
The teacher praised Thea to Mrs. Sutton: "Thea is an excellent student, learns everything so fast."
Thea got into college but took a leave of absence, now studying at home, without being confined to a specific area by the teacher. She wanted to learn a wide range of subjects, mostly foundational ones, while the rest were mostly art courses such as piano, violin, Go, golf, and other elite cultural refinement necessities.
Thea learned quickly, but didn’t proactively delve deeper; she learned only what the teacher taught.
Even so, every teacher praised her exceptional learning.
What mother doesn’t love hearing their child being praised for intelligence? Mrs. Sutton was particularly pleased, and whenever happy, she liked to ask Thea what reward she’d like, though Thea didn’t have any special preferences. Still, Mrs. Sutton would buy her all sorts of exquisite adornments, jewelry was common, and even bought her a multi-million dollar horse at the stables for future equestrian practice.
The joy of wealthy people, indeed.
Thea, having been the Great National Master before, had experienced much, so there was nothing novel.
When Mrs. Sutton handed her money, she looked at expensive nutritional products on her phone and ordered them all to her hometown’s address, all for her adoptive parents.
Sending anything too grand, with their simple personalities, they’d leave it unused, better to buy food and supplements, nothing beats a healthy body.
After transferring the money, Mrs. Sutton suddenly said: "By the way, your uncle and his family are returning to the country tonight, I have to pick them up. Later, the driver will take you to the dinner place, remember to come, you haven’t met your uncle and them."
Thea looked up immediately: "Uncle?"
Mrs. Sutton replied: "Yes, your dad’s brother. After your grandparents passed, your uncle immigrated overseas, occasionally coming back."
Thea suddenly understood.
No wonder she hadn’t seen any other relatives since coming to the Sutton Family.
Curiously, Thea asked: "Then, mom, what about your family?"
Mrs. Sutton sighed: "Mom was an only child. When I was young, your grandfather passed away, and grandma raised me alone. She passed some years ago, and soon it’s your grandma’s death anniversary, our whole family will go to pay respects."
Thea nodded: "Okay."
