Chapter 81: Chapter 81: Are You Close With That Guy?

"Ah, even though she doesn’t plan to stay with the company, she used to be one of the veterans. She definitely knows secrets that I’m unaware of."

Thea thought, perhaps Master considered that Chloe is now her sister too, and since she has the original body’s memory about the group, he gave Chloe some pointers.

Thea said, "So if you move far away, we won’t get to see each other often, will we?"

Chloe: "We didn’t see each other that often anyway, and I told Mom. She’s really happy."

The soup was served, and it smelled delicious. Chloe took a sip and let out a satisfied sigh: "As expected, pricey things are good. Now I’m working hard, saving up for a few years, just like you said, aiming to pay the down payment for a house and bring Mom and Dad over."

Thea paused.

But she didn’t mention that she already had enough for a down payment on a good house and was saving up for the full amount.

Better to surprise them when the time comes.

As they were sipping the soup, a group of people walked into the hotel lobby on the first floor.

Thea’s eyelids twitched immediately.

From their second-floor table, they had a clear view of the first-floor lobby.

This hotel was known for its soup, but the prices were steep. A pot of soup with a few side dishes and some drinks could easily cost over ten thousand. It wasn’t uncommon to see wealthy second-generation kids here.

So it wasn’t all that surprising to see Landon Ford—was it?

The group clearly consisted of playboys, each wearing expensive limited-edition outfits, and the watches on their wrists probably cost the same as a nice house in Aethelgard.

Yet, even so, Landon Ford was the most distinguished among them.

Today, the man was dressed in a custom-made pure black suit, exuding meticulous elegance and restraint, although his eyebrows were quite fierce, making him appear unapproachable. Even the young scions beside him were cautious.

Landon had an extraordinary presence, standing there as if he belonged to another world.

Chloe noticed a striking figure out of the corner of her eye while sipping her soup, quickly turned her head, and said, "Isn’t that the guy who picked you up that night?"

Thea remained calm: "Yes, a neighbor from quite far away."

Chloe: "..."

Thea still remembered that he hadn’t sent any videos the night before, and given the awkwardness outside, it wasn’t the right place to greet each other.

As their group arrived, they were led to a more upscale restaurant on the third floor. But Thea, being quite outstanding herself, caught Landon’s attention. As soon as he entered, he glanced up and locked eyes with Thea on the second floor.

Thea: "..."

Landon’s mouth curled into a wicked smile, and he nodded towards the second floor, prompting the group to move upstairs.

The young scions around Landon spotted Thea and even recognized her, blurting out, "Isn’t that the Sutton Family’s little fairy?"

"What luck today, meeting her here! I’ve heard she doesn’t come out much."

"Yeah, since she’s been back, I haven’t heard of her getting particularly close with any other young ladies. Seems like she doesn’t have many friends..."

As they discussed, Chloe, who was staring at Landon, put down her soup and said, "Should I leave now?"

Thea: "Yeah, we should probably go."

Chloe looked at the large pot of untasted soup in front of them, knowing waste would be shameful, said, "Oh well, let’s eat some first. We haven’t even started eating yet."

Thea: "..."

If not now, then when?

Chloe, who was not only intuitive but also a bit nosy, asked, "Are you pretty close with that guy?"
