Villains Act Shamelessly: The Heiress was the Great National Master!-Chapter 52: An Abnormal Strong Woman
Zia Sutton dropped Thea Shaw off near Chloe Shaw’s company.
Chloe’s office was in a skyscraper, surrounded by similar buildings. Except for the working crowd, there were few residents, making it a quiet area.
She messaged Chloe, thinking it was still early, and decided to take a stroll nearby.
Unexpectedly, Chloe immediately called back, "You can wait downstairs at our company for a bit. I need to go out for an errand and can return to the office this afternoon. I’ll take you around."
Thea agreed.
After waiting for a while, she saw Chloe coming out of the building lobby, wearing a women’s suit with wide-leg pants. She looked sharp, carrying a cardboard box.
Thea walked over and, seeing this scene, couldn’t help but feel puzzled: "Sis, not only did you not get promoted, but you got fired?"
The way she was holding the box didn’t look like she’d been fired?
Chloe rolled her eyes, "Of course not. This belongs to our company’s general manager; she used to be a strong woman. Recently, she suddenly lost her sanity and went crazy. No one knows when she’ll recover. She lives nearby, and the boss asked me to deliver her things there. There are many big malls near her house; after delivering them, I’ll take you shopping."
"Went crazy?"
Thea was a bit surprised, "Was the work pressure too high, causing a breakdown?"
"No."
Chloe was also a bit confused, "She was a perfectly normal person, then all of a sudden became inexplicably irrational, repeatedly saying our society is abnormal, and men shouldn’t be working. She even pointed at President Hughes wearing short sleeves one day, calling him indecent and vulgar... Her thoughts seemed to have suddenly turned into... you know, like a role reversal, a female-dominant world?"
Thea: ...!!! 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
In an instant, she felt like she’d been struck by lightning.
A female-dominant world?
She was familiar with it!!
But what’s up with this general manager?
Thea murmured, "Sis, what’s this general manager’s name?"
Chloe looked at her, a bit surprised, "Her surname is Locke, Florence Locke. Why, you know her?"
"I don’t know her."
Thea quickly shook her head, "I find it fascinating, how her thoughts could suddenly become so... feudal?"
"Feudal is one thing, but the key is it’s a female-dominance ideology. There are indeed unfair treatments between men and women in our workplace, but she’s so personally capable, a true icon for women. Everyone in our company sees her as an absolute leadership tier, so skilled, there’s no reason for the reverse to turn so extreme."
Perhaps finding it intriguing, Chloe complained about these things to Thea as they walked.
"She hasn’t come to work for a week now. There’s no sign of improvement, and we don’t know how her family is reacting."
Florence Locke’s home was indeed not far, about a ten-minute walk to a high-end apartment building.
At the security room at the entrance, Chloe explained the apartment number. The security guard made a call, and the person agreed to let Chloe up.
"I’ve been here before. Sister Florence divorced early on, with only a daughter. Her daughter is studying abroad, so she lives alone. Sigh, now she’s not normal anymore, who knows if there’s anyone taking care of her."
Thea paused for a moment, then said, "Think positively, maybe she’s just temporarily unable to accept it, not that she’s lost her mind."
Chloe: ...
Is there a difference?
The apartment was one elevator stop per unit, with direct access. Chloe still remembered the password.
Entering the room, the spacious living room faced a huge floor-to-ceiling window, offering an unobstructed view of the skyscrapers outside.
A woman, an elegant middle-aged beauty, was sitting on the central sofa in the living room, gracefully savoring a cup of coffee in a pink silk nightgown.
Thea was stunned for three seconds.
