Villains Act Shamelessly: The Heiress was the Great National Master!-Chapter 42: I Work Hard for Myself
The door of the private room was soundproof, so the two of them didn’t hear the commotion outside.
Yvette Vaughn was a bit surprised, "Your sister?"
She saw Chloe Shaw outside.
In terms of appearance, she was beautiful too and completely different from Thea Shaw, yet there seemed to be a sisterly resemblance.
Although they weren’t biological sisters. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Yvette instantly understood because her best friend had mentioned that Thea Shaw’s adoptive parents’ family had another daughter.
Yvette smiled gently, "She’s pretty too. Alright, go on then, but remember to tell your mom."
Young Master Garrison saw Yvette and Theodore and was also a bit surprised, "Uncle Howard, Auntie Vaughn?"
Auntie Vaughn was surprised to see Garrison as well, "Garrison?"
The tone suggested familiarity.
Thea Shaw noticed this, immediately smiled, and said, "You all know each other, that’s perfect. You chat; we’ll be leaving first."
With that, she left with Chloe Shaw.
Young Master Garrison, being perceptive, watched as Thea Shaw left, and in front of Yvette and Theodore, he couldn’t very well stop her to ask for contact information.
He left with thoughts swirling in his mind and entered the private room, asking, "Auntie, who was that just now...?"
The people from Chloe Shaw’s company and the clients were all showing different expressions.
This sister of Chloe Shaw’s seemed to have an impressive background?
And what about Chloe Shaw?
President Hughes’ face suddenly turned somewhat ashen.
-
Originally, she just wanted to catch up, but didn’t expect to see Chloe Shaw getting hit.
She wanted to help Chloe Shaw let off some steam, but since she had already hit back, there was no need to intervene further.
Thea Shaw followed Chloe Shaw back home.
Seeing her messy situation, Chloe Shaw wasn’t too embarrassed in front of this sister of hers. Using a boiled egg she bought on the way, she rubbed it on her face and said softly in the car, "Don’t tell Mom."
This incident was an accident; Chloe Shaw had never encountered it before.
"Got it."
Thea Shaw glanced at Chloe Shaw and said, "Will that woman cause you more trouble?"
"No, she won’t."
Chloe Shaw laughed, "She clearly just hangs around wealthy guys. An apology will suffice, and at least I don’t have to pay for those shoes. They are worth tens of thousands."
Mentioning the tens of thousands, she felt a pang of heartache.
If not for the later incident, the normal course would have been to pay for the shoes.
Thea Shaw knew Chloe Shaw would not encounter anything too tumultuous, which put her mind at ease.
Chloe Shaw lived in a small apartment not far from her company, a one-bedroom, one-living room place—though small, its proximity to the company made it quite expensive, about six thousand a month.
This was something Thea Shaw asked casually when entering the apartment.
This is the price of living in the bustling city center.
Her basic monthly salary is about twenty-five thousand. After deductions for rent and miscellaneous things, she’s left with about fifteen thousand. Out of this, five thousand is used as her living expenses, and the remaining ten thousand is for Mrs. Blair’s medical expenses and the family’s living costs, of which Chloe Shaw would send back five thousand each month.
Thea Shaw never put herself in Chloe Shaw’s shoes before. She even held grievances about why Chloe Shaw didn’t return to see Mrs. Blair when she left school and went home. With more experience now, she instantly understood Chloe Shaw’s difficulties.
Her salary is high with good benefits, but the pressure is immense, yet she sends money back regularly each month.
After Mrs. Blair’s car accident, it became difficult for Mr. Shaw to work outside, and Chloe Shaw was the one who supported the family single-handedly.
Despite this, after Thea Shaw returned to the Sutton Family, Chloe Shaw never suggested asking Mrs. Blair for financial support from the Sutton Family to sustain herself.
Thea Shaw sat in the narrow living room, and Chloe Shaw poured her a glass of freshly squeezed juice. Holding the juice, Thea Shaw quietly said, "Sis, you’ve worked hard."
Chloe Shaw replied, "I work hard for myself."
