Villains Act Shamelessly: The Heiress was the Great National Master!-Chapter 256: Monica Cole and Lorraine York
Mr. Sutton could tell from the other’s gaze that he was thinking about something irrelevant.
He offered a simple explanation.
The owner was surprised that such a simple family setting like the Sutton Family had such a dramatic situation, and he felt a bit emotional for a moment.
"Haven’t come back in twenty years, it looks like the child has been doing well."
The owner and Mr. Sutton started chatting about everyday life, while Aurora Sutton and her companions naturally weren’t interested in these topics. Noticing the pleasant surroundings, Aurora grabbed Thea Shaw’s hand, "Shall I take you around? The scenery here isn’t bad."
Thea nodded, "Sure."
Zia Sutton, of course, followed them, but to be honest, he didn’t really like wandering in the countryside; he would rather sit and play a couple of games.
Seeing Thea and Aurora quite enthusiastic, he couldn’t help but say, "What’s there to see? Coming back year after year, it’s always the same, hasn’t developed in years."
"It’s different because you come back every year," Aurora retorted with annoyance, "It’s Thea’s first time here, of course, I’m taking her around. This was grandpa and grandma’s hometown."
But to be honest, they hadn’t really spent much time with their grandparents.
The two elders passed away too early.
This rural guesthouse is quite large, with one side against the countryside, you can go up the mountain to play. The area belongs to the guesthouse, and there are pavilions and peach blossom forests.
Aurora then took Thea up the mountain.
Since today wasn’t a weekend, there weren’t many people at the guesthouse; some who booked rooms stayed in and didn’t come out.
Not many people were wandering around, the atmosphere was rather tranquil.
The three of them were about to go up the mountain to check out the scenery, but at the entrance to the mountain path, they spotted two schoolgirls, around fourteen or fifteen, standing there.
They both seemed to be middle school students, wearing black and white school uniforms.
They were too far to hear what the two were saying; they could only see that one had her head down while the other had her side and back to them, face unclear, but the one thing visible was her hand, which seemed to be pulling on the other girl’s hair.
The three felt something was off, and suddenly Aurora called out, "Monica Cole?"
Instantly, both girls raised their heads, and the one pulling the hair quickly withdrew her hand.
Seeing Thea confused, Aurora explained, "The shorter one is the guesthouse owner’s daughter, Monica Cole, don’t know the other one, probably her classmate."
Coming back every year, they naturally knew the guesthouse owner’s daughter.
Monica was the one with her head down; upon seeing Aurora, she seemed to force a smile and walked towards them, greeting, "Sister Aurora, Brother Zia."
When her eyes landed on Thea, they held a hint of confusion.
Aurora proactively introduced, "This is our sister who just returned; you can call her Sister Thea."
Monica didn’t ask more, obediently and sensibly greeting, "Hello, Sister Thea."
Thea nodded.
The girl standing behind Monica didn’t come over; she kept staring at them, her features plain but carrying a gloomy vibe.
And this gloom appeared sharp and harsh.
She just stood there, eyeing them, especially Monica.
Aurora glanced at the girl, softly asking, "Monica, who is that?"
Monica pursed her lips, whispering, "She’s a distant cousin, something happened at home, so she was sent to us. She’s living with us now; her name is Lorraine York."
