Chapter 244: Chapter 244: Meeting Lauren Blair

Thea Shaw followed behind, carrying the small bag that Lauren Blair had brought.

Lately, Lauren Blair had been feeling unwell, leading to dizziness and blurry vision, but she still immediately recognized Thea Shaw.

Thea Shaw didn’t dare make a sound at that moment.

Mr. Shaw sat in the front passenger seat, while Lauren Blair and the two sisters sat in the back. Lauren, feeling uncomfortable, wanted to open the window for some air. Thea didn’t like sitting in the middle, and for some reason, she felt inexplicably uneasy inside.

After getting in the car, as the cool night breeze blew, Lauren Blair gradually recovered, glancing at Thea Shaw several times, separated by Chloe Shaw.

Chloe Shaw joked at this moment, "Mom, did you recognize Thea? She went to the Sutton Family for a while and really changed a lot. You can see that her parents treated her very well."

These things were already discussed at home, and Thea Shaw hadn’t lost touch with them, so Chloe had nothing she didn’t dare to say.

Lauren Blair still gave Thea Shaw a serious look.

Thea offered her an embarrassed, ingratiating smile.

Just like the smile she gave Lauren as a child after she had made a mistake.

Lauren Blair was taken aback.

She used to have a fiery temper, yet with a delicate heart. After surviving a critical car accident, she had become more grounded.

She had a sensitivity that others didn’t often possess.

Especially when facing the daughter she had raised for twenty years.

Yet it was only a month of separation, but she saw a bit of weathered experience in Thea’s expression, corresponding with a grounded tranquility.

It’s something no amount of elegance could hide.

She was never like this before.

But she knew, this grounding tranquility could not have been developed in just a month’s time. Over the phone, Thea still sounded like her old self, proving that she was well taken care of by the Sutton Family. Thea isn’t one to hide her grievances.

Chloe was often away from home and didn’t really know Thea, while Mr. Shaw was silent and didn’t connect much with the kids. Maybe he saw something, or maybe he didn’t see anything at all.

She snapped back to reality, looking at the familiar smile of her child, lightly pursing her lips, showing a gentle, loving expression, "It’s been so long since I’ve seen you. Thea, you’ve become so beautiful."

Thea paused, her heart inexplicably racing.

The reason she feared Lauren would notice something was because she knew Lauren had raised her for twenty years. Even if she lifted her butt, Lauren would know she was going to fart. With such a big change in her demeanor, she had postponed seeing Lauren, unsure what she would think.

But she also knew that no matter what, Lauren would never imagine that Thea had traveled to an alternate world in the Women’s Respect Country, for a whole thirty years.

Seeing Lauren’s familiar, loving smile, Thea slowly calmed down, grinning, "Yeah, mom, did I give you a fright?"

"No."

Lauren Blair smiled warmly, "How could you frighten mom? No matter how beautiful you become, you’re still my daughter."

The family laughed and chatted happily. Even Felix Finch chimed in with a few sweet words, diverting Mrs. Blair’s attention, and she began to focus on Chloe and Felix.

Who would be willing to visit a friend’s family in the middle of the night unless they were really close? Why hadn’t Chloe mentioned him before?

They all stayed at a hotel in the city center tonight, with even Felix booking a room next door.

Chloe initially worried she’d face an interrogation, but upon reaching the hotel, Lauren first let Mr. Shaw and Chloe chat while she took Thea into a room to talk alone.
