Villains Act Shamelessly: The Heiress was the Great National Master!-Chapter 212: Chasing Fame
Delia Darden has a peculiar and awkward name.
But that’s not the point.
Thea Shaw sat down and asked, "So what do you want to know?"
Delia Darden was very direct, "I want to know if I can become famous?"
Thea Shaw knew immediately that there was a lot to delve into here.
From Delia Darden’s expression, it was clear this wasn’t her first time consulting a fortune teller.
And since Marcus Lynch had reached out to her, the answer was obvious. The people Delia Darden had previously consulted likely didn’t give her an answer she wanted; now, finding more fortune tellers was just her way of hoping to hear the answer she desired.
Thea Shaw looked at Delia Darden, "Take off your sunglasses."
Delia Darden removed her sunglasses, and Thea Shaw stared for three seconds before saying quietly, "You’ve had plastic surgery, haven’t you?"
Just look at those swollen eyelids.
Delia Darden felt a bit embarrassed, "Not really, just got double eyelids and a bit of filler, still in recovery. Will it affect things?"
"It won’t affect anything," Thea Shaw shook her head. "As long as your facial features haven’t changed significantly."
Marcus Lynch added from the side, "Just take a look for her, see if she can become famous or not."
Thea Shaw always spoke directly. Looking at Delia Darden, she said frankly, "To be honest with you, you won’t become famous."
Delia Darden’s smile stiffened, and her expression visibly darkened.
Marcus Lynch also felt troubled, "See, even this young master says you won’t become famous. Why do you keep torturing yourself over it?"
Thea Shaw was somewhat surprised, "She’s not one of your artists. Aren’t you worried if she can’t become famous?"
Marcus Lynch, feeling awkward, said, "It’s not that I’m not worried, but if I really had someone who could become famous in my hands, do you think I’d be worrying? The entertainment industry relies heavily on fate, especially now when the circle is so lucrative. Every year countless young people rush in, alongside a massive batch of influencers trying to break in. For those like her who have been struggling in the industry for years, the chance of becoming famous is akin to winning the lottery." 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
"But she’s not entirely unknown. At least there’s a good chance of landing several supporting roles a year. Earning a small amount of money, enough to not worry about food or clothing. Yet she insists on fighting for more."
The relationship between Marcus Lynch and Delia Darden is quite good; even as he revealed these secrets, Delia Darden looked bleak but didn’t stop him.
"She’s consulted several fortune tellers, not saying whether they’re skilled or not, but at least they all told her she doesn’t have the destiny to become famous. Even you say the same, yet she refuses to believe it."
Thea Shaw knew everyone entering the entertainment industry inevitably sought success. Some, like Delia Darden, were persistent enough to seek fortune tellers, but they were rare. Thea Shaw advised, "Even a little fame that earns you money isn’t bad, don’t push yourself too hard."
But Delia Darden had already walked into some extreme measures. If she weren’t chasing fame, she wouldn’t have considered these fringe methods.
She had heard that some people in the circle kept spirits, which she wanted to imitate, but unfortunately, she lacked the connections and channels. She didn’t even know where to find authentic spirits and was afraid of inviting something malevolent that might backfire on her, so she hadn’t gone through with it.
She always felt she wasn’t lacking. If others could become famous, perhaps she could too?
Biting her lip, Delia Darden forced a smile, "Easier said than done, surrendering is easier said than done. I’ve been in the industry for over a decade with no opportunity, I’m not willing to give up."
Thea Shaw asked her, "Then why do you want to become famous? Is it to earn more money? Or do you hope that by becoming famous, more people will like you?"
