Chapter 99: Chapter: 98 You must pay!

Two hours later, outside Rosalina’s mansion.

Julius and Alfred stood quietly in the cool night air.

A soft breeze brushed past them, bringing a refreshing chill.

The moon hung high in the sky, glowing with a soft reddish light that made everything look a little mysterious.

Julius looked straight ahead. A huge gate blocked their way, locked tightly from the inside.

Through the gaps in the gate, he could see many guards standing watch.

"Alfred, take care of the guards outside," Julius said calmly.

"As you wish, my lord."

Alfred bowed once, then jumped smoothly over the tall gate and disappeared into the shadows.

Julius turned around and looked down at the ground.

Four girls were lying there, completely unconscious.

Two of them were twins, the granddaughters of the First Elder.

Alfred had checked everything. These twins were fourth-year students at the academy.

Julius had taken them from their dorm rooms earlier.

The First Elder loved these two girls more than anything.

That’s why Julius brought them. If things got messy, they would make perfect hostages.

He shifted his gaze to the other two girls.

Both were stunningly beautiful, with figures that could make most men lose their minds.

But none of it worked on Julius. His heart and eyes belonged only to one woman, Rosalina.

Still, he couldn’t help but chuckle softly.

"These two... their status is no joke," he muttered.

One was Sera, the only daughter of the Duke of the Holy Empire.

The other was Lily, the most beloved daughter of the Thorne family’s patriarch, and the big sister of Crypian Thorne.

Julius shook his head, his mouth hanging open in disbelief.

"I can’t believe he aimed this high..." he whispered. "And to think he was really trying to build a harem?"

When Alfred had explained the plan earlier, Julius had been shocked.

Nickel was secretly building connections across all three floating continents through marriage.

He was collecting powerful fiancées left and right.

"Damn!" Julius laughed under his breath.

"He really has full-blown protagonist syndrome!"

Julius stared at the four unconscious girls on the ground.

Even in their messy state, they looked like jade beauties straight out of those cultivation novels.

He let out a soft sigh, his face showing a hint of regret.

"Such beautiful girls... and now they have to pay for something they didn’t even do," he muttered while kneeling down beside them.

He paused for a moment, then his eyes turned sharp and cold.

"But what can I do? Your families are planning bad things against my Rose."

His voice grew harder as he grabbed all four girls by their hair and gathered their heads together in one hand.

"So how can I just let it go?"

He stood up slowly, still holding their hair, and started dragging the girls behind him.

"They have to pay for thinking about harming my Rose, right?" he said to himself with a smirk.

Bam!

With one powerful kick, Julius smashed the big gate open.

The moment the gate flew open, a pile of dead guards greeted him.

Alfred was kneeling calmly in front of the entrance, waiting.

"Everything is taken care of, my lord," Alfred said respectfully.

Julius didn’t stop. He kept dragging the four girls across the ground toward the main door of the mansion.

"Everyone needs to pay the price after all..." he muttered, his voice low but firm. "Wouldn’t you agree?"

Bam!

He kicked the main door wide open with a loud crash.

....

....

Back to the present...

"Should I?" Julius asked slowly, dragging the sharp dagger along Rihana’s throat.

"But why should I?"

The First Elder kept begging, his voice shaking. "I will do anything for you... anything you want..."

He paused for a second and glanced at Rihana. She was breathing slowly, but it was steady. She was still alive.

’If I can just find one small opportunity...’ the old man thought. ’If I can get rid of that Assassin King....."

He looked at Alfred from the corner of his eye.

Everyone on the continent knew the King of Assassins.

The First Elder wouldn’t take any risks unless he was sure he could win in one strike.

It wasn’t just the situation, it was his nature. He always attacked when the enemy least expected it.

Julius completely ignored the old man’s begging.

He stood up, grabbed Rihana by the hair, and walked in a half-circle until he stood right in front of Rosalina.

Rosalina stared at him.

Her lips were pushed out in a small pout, the only thing stopping her from bursting into tears.

Her eyes had turned watery from all the emotions she was trying to hold back.

Julius reached out gently and touched her swollen cheek with his fingertips.

Then he leaned in and placed a soft kiss on her forehead.

"There are some rules to this world, do you know that?" Julius said, pulling his lips away.

He turned toward the First Elder. His eyes were ice cold as he spoke the next words clearly:

"One rule among them is... if someone slaps you in the face..."

Chink!

He drove the dagger straight through Rihana’s throat in one clean motion.

"...pay them back a hundred times over."

Blood sprayed out as Rihana’s body twitched once and then went still.

The First Elder’s eyes widened in pure horror. A broken scream tore out of his throat.

"NOOO!!! RIHANA!!!"

He lunged forward, but Alfred moved like a shadow and kicked the old man hard in the chest, sending him crashing back to the floor.

Rosalina gasped, her body shaking.

She looked at Julius with wide, shocked eyes, but there was also something else there, a strange mix of relief and warmth.

Julius wiped the bloody dagger on his sleeve casually, as if he had just cut a piece of fruit.

He looked down at the First Elder, who was now crying openly, his face twisted in pain and rage.

"You touched my Rose," Julius said, his voice calm but deadly.

"You beat her. You made her cry. You even made her want to end her own life."

He pointed the dagger at the old man.

"So now, your precious granddaughters will pay the price. One down... one more to go."
