Chapter 73: Chapter: 72 Miserable Julius.[Bonus Chapter]

"Julius!!!"

Professor Ignel shouted, his eyes filled with pure horror.

"I... am... sorry... Professor..." Julius’s voice was so weak it sounded like he was barely alive.

"I couldn’t... cough cough... I couldn’t stop him..."

He looked like he was really about to die.

Julius was leaning heavily against the wall, his whole body covered in terrible cuts and wounds.

It looked like someone had tortured him on purpose.

His fingernails on both hands had been ripped out.

A long, ugly cut ran from the base of his left hand all the way up to his shoulder.

But the worst part was his chest, a deep cross-shaped wound had been carved into him.

Blood poured out steadily, soaking his clothes and dripping onto the floor.

Professor Ignel rushed forward in panic.

"W-who did this?!"

"Cough! Cough! Cough!"

Julius coughed out a big mouthful of blood that splattered on the ground.

"I don’t... know. He was wearing a white mask... cough cough!"

Tears filled Julius’s eyes as he begged weakly, "Please... save me, Professor... I don’t want to die... please save me... cough cough!"

Professor Ignel’s heart twisted with anger and helplessness.

He looked at the boy’s miserable condition and felt desperate.

"Don’t talk... I will save you. Just calm down..."

Snap!

He snapped his fingers. A small piece of paper appeared in his hand.

Rip!

He tore the paper in half and shouted urgently, "Professor Lisa! Come to the underground storage right now!"

His voice was full of panic. The paper vanished instantly, carrying his message.

"Okay, Julius, control your breathing," Ignel said, trying to sound calm even though his hands were shaking.

He reached out to grab Julius’s hand, but it was covered in deep cuts.

"Damn it!!" he screamed inside his head.

Whoever did this really wanted Julius to suffer badly.

Ignel quickly pulled out some emergency bandages from his pocket and started wrapping them tightly around Julius’s wounds to stop the bleeding.

"I... tried... to stop him... cough... but he used some gas... and..." Julius kept

coughing blood, each cough weaker than the last.

"Don’t worry, I know you tried," Ignel said, his voice tight with desperation.

He kept wrapping the bandages as fast as he could, but they turned red almost immediately.

"Just relax. You won’t die here... I promise you that."

Julius’s face was pale, his breathing shallow and ragged.

Tears kept rolling down his cheeks as he looked up at the professor with helpless, pleading eyes.

Professor Ignel worked frantically, sweat dripping down his own face.

His heart was pounding with fear.

"Cough! Cough! Cough cough!"

Julius’s coughing grew worse and worse.

Blood kept spilling from his mouth with every harsh cough.

"I’m sorry... Professor..." he whispered weakly.

"It was all... my fault... When I saw what was going to happen... I shouldn’t have... followed... cough cough... Please forgive me..."

"Cough! Cough! Cough cough!"

Julius’s coughing grew weaker and weaker. Blood kept spilling from his mouth with every painful gasp.

"When I came to the academy... I saw it was under attack..." he whispered, voice shaking.

"I wanted to save... my Rose... When I saw that masked man... I followed him... cough... cough cough cough!"

Tears rolled down his pale cheeks.

"I’m sorry... I’m sorry I didn’t..."

He suddenly reached out with his bloody, trembling hands and hugged Professor Ignel desperately, like a scared little child clinging to his parent.

"Please, Professor... save me..." he cried, his voice breaking. "It hurts... I don’t want to die... Please save me, Professor..."

His tears soaked into Ignel’s clothes as he sobbed openly, body shaking with fear and pain.

"I don’t want to die... please..."

His voice grew softer and softer.

Then his eyes slowly closed.

"Julius...?"

"Julius?!"

Professor Ignel’s heart clenched painfully. He held the boy tighter, panic rising in his chest.

"Julius? Hey... Julius?!"

There was no answer.

The boy lay completely limp in his arms, face deathly pale, blood still slowly dripping from his wounds.

Professor Ignel’s heart squeezed painfully. Julius’s head fell forward, his neck limp.

"Julius?!"

No reply.

"No, no, no!" Ignel panicked.

He quickly moved his fingers under Julius’s nose to check for breathing.

The moment he felt the faint, weak breath... it felt like his own heart had stopped for a second.

"He... is alive..." Ignel muttered, letting out a huge breath of relief. "Thank the gods..."

He didn’t know how he would ever face anyone, especially Lady Elizabeth, if Julius died here.

And Julius was just a child... only 14 years old. He had barely started living.

"Professor Ignel?"

A urgent voice suddenly echoed from behind him.

Ignel spun around.

Professor Lisa had just arrived.

She had soft red hair and warm brown eyes, and her face was normally beautiful, but right now it was completely pale with worry.

"Professor Lisa... please save him!" Ignel said desperately as he moved toward her.

Lisa didn’t waste even a second. She rushed straight to Julius and knelt beside him.

"Infinite Cast: Divine Miracle!"

She raised both hands.

A gentle golden glow appeared and poured down onto Julius’s broken body.

Sweat immediately beaded on Lisa’s forehead.

The deep cross-shaped wound on Julius’s chest slowly started to close.

It was so wide and deep that it was shocking his heart hadn’t been pierced.

The wound continued to heal, but Professor Lisa’s face grew paler and paler with every second.

"Professor Ignel..." she called out, her voice strained.

The golden light was starting to dim. "I can’t hold on much longer. My vitality isn’t enough..."

Without any hesitation, Ignel stepped forward and held out his right hand.

"Use mine... Please, just save this child. No matter what."

His eyes wavered as he looked at Julius’s miserable, blood-covered form.

"This child gave everything to stop the perpetrators... but in doing so..."

He couldn’t finish the sentence. He bit down hard on his lip.

Professor Lisa looked at him, then also bit her lip.

She grabbed Ignel’s right hand with her left while keeping her right hand raised to continue the healing.

The chest wound finally closed completely.

But both professors were now completely exhausted.

Sweat poured down their faces. The golden light faded away.

"I can’t heal him fully..." Lisa said, breathing heavily, "but he is out of danger now. We must get him proper medical attention right away!"

Professor Ignel nodded and carefully picked Julius up in his arms.

The boy felt frighteningly light and limp.

Professor Lisa stood up slowly, still breathing hard from using so much of her power.

Ignel took one last look around the storage room.

The place was completely destroyed, broken shelves, shattered stone, and pieces of the wall scattered everywhere.

It was clear that Julius had fought with everything he had to protect the treasures.

But then Ignel’s eyes landed on the empty glass box in the corner of the room.

The Divination Board was gone.

Everything else was still there... only the Divination Board had been stolen.

Ignel gritted his teeth so hard his jaw hurt. His gaze moved down to Julius’s blood-covered face.

It was obvious now.

Whoever stole the Divination Board was a complete psychopath.

They had tortured Julius horribly, ripping out his nails, carving deep cuts into his body, and leaving that terrible cross wound on his chest, then left him here to die slowly and painfully.

Ignel’s eyes burned with cold fury.

"I swear..." he whispered through gritted teeth, voice low and full of rage, "whoever you are... I will pay you back for this."

He held Julius a little tighter, as if protecting the boy from the memory of what had happened here.

Professor Lisa placed a gentle hand on Ignel’s shoulder.

"Let’s go," she said softly. "He needs real medical help right now."
