Chapter 69: Forgive Me

Hellen perched tense on the living room sectional’s edge, her ice-blue eyes drilling into Emily’s blotchy, tear-streaked face—crimson blush warring with glassy emerald fury, raven curls quivering like storm-tossed branches around her trembling mouth.

Her alpha instincts screamed primally at her. My omega’s angry at me for something—I should hug her tight, flood her with calming pheromones, fix it now.

But Hellen locked her hands tightly on her knees, knuckles popping white, breath measured slow through flared nostrils—red jacket creased from the morning’s ghosting fight, blonde ponytail arrow-straight despite the electric air.

"You... you told Olle to dump those Pokémon things on me?" Emily choked out raw, voice fracturing between molten hurt and white-hot fury, small fists balled bone-tight at her sides, gray shorts creased from pacing, black shirt rumpled loose over heaving curves.

"Why? Did something happen?"

"A lot of things happened!"

"Emily, Pokémon is your favourite cartoon, isn’t it?"

"Anime!" Emily corrected her.

"Yeah, anime."

"Did you told her to give me those things? Yes or no, Hellen." 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

"Yes. I did?" Hellen admitted level, unflinching—ponytail gleaming gold in the slanting noon light, jaw carved granite under smooth skin.

Emily’s cheeks ignited inferno-brighter, tears carving hot tracks down flushed olive. "You laced your damn pheromones into every plushie! Because of you..." Words died bitten-off, dream’s obscene details strangling her throat unsaid—Hellen’s phantom tongue plundering, strong hands peeling panda undies slow, and her dick ravaging her mouth, and pussy.

Hellen cursed sharp inward—Fuck! I thought that I masked it. Never thought Emily would be able to smell my subtle scent.

"What happened, Emily? Figured you’d geek out—Snivy your diva queen from that wine night ramble."

"Happy?!" Emily detonated, tears spilling unchecked now, bare feet stomping thunder-close across the hardwood, voice cracking glass. "You betrayed me! Olle betrayed me! Did it knowing I’d catch your scent everywhere—I’m an alpha, not your scent-marked pet to manipulate!"

She is still lying about her gender. Emily, I know that you are an omega. My omega, who will be my wife.

Hellen shook her head measured-slow, gut churning acid. "You’re really that angry?"

"Of course I am! You and Olle betrayed me—played me like a fool!" Emily lunged feral, palm cracking whip-sharp across Hellen’s cheek—echo bouncing off bay windows crisp and brutal, her whole arm shuddering recoil, emerald eyes wild-wide with spent force.

Hellen absorbed it serene, cheek blooming faint pink handprint—secret thrill sparking low like struck flint. "Happy now?"

Emily snarled through snot-snarled tears, free fist cocking high again, knuckles scraped red. "I’ll hit you again—harder!" Guilt clawed her gut vicious though, palm throbbing more than Hellen’s face, hand quaking mid-air. Why was she hurt by hitting Hellen?

"Then hit me," Hellen coaxed softly, eyes softening tender under the rising bruise, body open invitation—no flinch, no defence.

"What...?" Emily faltered frozen, raised palm quivering like a leaf—hitting hurt her soul worse, ricochet pain. Fingers uncurled limp, dropping defeated.

Hellen lunged quick as thought, snagging that stinging wrist gentle-iron—tugging Emily down firm onto her lap mid-stumble, strong alpha thighs bracketing hers wide, arms looping waist-lock despite her frantic twist. "Show me your hand—let me see."

Emily squirmed half-hearted rebellion, gray shorts riding high on sweat-slick thighs, black shirt twisting askew to bare midriff sliver—but Hellen held unyielding steady, thumbs kneading deep into the smarting palm with slow, healing circles, working knots loose from knuckle to wrist, breath warm on her crown.

"It hurts, doesn’t it?" Hellen murmured soft, thumbs circling deeper into Emily’s smarting palm—working the sting out slow, breath warm against raven curls spilling over her shoulder.

Emily nodded quick, sniffling wet, emerald eyes glassy as snot bubbled her upper lip. "It hurts..."

"Why’d you have to hit me like that?" Hellen asked gentle-reproach, ice-blue gaze lifting to hold hers steady, cheek still pink from the slap.

"Sorry, Hellen... I shouldn’t have hit you," Emily whispered broken, fresh tears carving paths down blotchy cheeks, body sagging boneless in her lap—gray shorts creased high, black shirt twisted loose.

"Yes—but if you really wanted to hit me, I’d take it. For you." Hellen’s voice dropped earnest, alpha calm unshakeable.

"What?" Emily blinked stunned, sniffling louder, fist unclenching full in Hellen’s kneading grip.

Hellen’s free palm cracked deliberate against her own cheek—smack once, pink blooming darker under smooth skin; smack twice, jaw rocking faint with controlled force; smack third, flesh flaming angry red now, a perfect match for Emily’s earlier strike. "See? You just had to tell me—no need for your hand to hurt."

"Stop—Hellen, stop!" Emily yelped horrified, lunging frantic across the sectional—small hands snatching Hellen’s slapping arm mid-air, nails digging sharp crescents into her wrist, yanking it down firm pinned to her own heaving chest. "Don’t—please!"

"Why?" Hellen tilted her head slight, ice-blue eyes glinting soft under the rising bruise, blonde ponytail swaying gentle. "Scared to see me pay for it?"

"I’m sorry, Hellen! I overreacted—total mess," Emily sobbed, tears gushing fresh rivers down blotchy cheeks, snot bubbling her lip as her body shook curled in Hellen’s lap—gray shorts twisted high, black shirt gaping loose at the collar.

Hellen’s free hand rose tender, callused thumb swiping slow under Emily’s emerald eyes—wiping tears warm and salt-slick, tracing jaw gentle before cupping her chin lift.

"I’m sorry too, Emily. Total mistake on my end—must’ve rubbed off when I was packing that crate last year, hands all over the plushies before handing to Olle. Didn’t think."

"But why didn’t you give them yourself?" Emily sniffled wet, peeking up through wet lashes, raven curls matted tear-damp against her forehead.

"You were pissed at me—after I yelled during that modelling fight, went cold alpha on you for posing," Hellen admitted rueful, thumb lingering soft on her cheekbone. "Figured space first, let Olle play neutral Santa."

"You did right. I would have been angrier with you."

"See?"

"You’re overprotective—always have been, jumping in like I’m some fragile thing you need to shield from the world," Emily mumbled, her voice a tangled half-accuse, half-grateful murmur pressed against Hellen’s collarbone.

Her small frame relaxing inch by torturous inch in the alpha’s unyielding hold—gray shorts shifting whisper-soft against denim thighs, black shirt riding up to bare a warm sliver of midriff where their bodies pressed flush, heart still thudding rabbit-fast from the slap’s ricochet guilt.

"Yeah, I am—overprotective to a fault, because I can’t stand seeing you throw yourself into fire without backup," Hellen’s admission rolled steady as bedrock, no apology threading it, no shame either—who could fault an alpha for guarding her omega? Ice-blue eyes held fierce under the fading cheek-bruise, blonde ponytail a golden arrow framing her unflinching jaw.

"Fire...?"

"You think I like watching you pose for Olle, every alpha... and omega in the world drooling over those photos? But I get it now—it was for us, for Helly Paws. Still doesn’t make it easy."

"Sorry," Emily whispered tiny and broken, fresh sob hitching sharp in her chest, snot-snarled tears soaking Hellen’s red jacket shoulder. "I shouldn’t have lashed out like that, slapped you... it wasn’t fair."

"I’m sorry too—for going cold after the shoot, for yelling when you needed support instead of some alpha tantrum," Hellen murmured.

"You were wrong..."

"Yes, I shouldn’t have tried stopping your choices like some controlling asshole—modelling was brilliant, saved our launch, exploded everything. I was scared, Emily."

"You wouldn’t have. You are my best friend."

"Yeah, best friend."

"You forgive me? For everything—the slap, the freakout over the plushies?" Emily peeked up hopeful-vulnerable, small hands fisting loose in Hellen’s jacket—breath hitching soft, gray shorts creased high from the lap-sit.

"Only if you forgive me first," Hellen’s softened full melt, thumb tracing her jaw feather-tender, cradling the tear-streaked curve like fragile treasure. "I never want to fight like that again. Deal?"

"Of course I forgive you—always will, no matter how stupid we get," Emily breathed fervent, twisting fluid in her lap like liquid trust—arms looping tight around Hellen’s neck, hugging fierce and desperate, face burying warm into the crook of her shoulder.

Gray shorts shifted plush against denim, black shirt gaping loose at the collar to bare collarbone flush.

Hellen hugged back crushing, strong arms banding her waist secure like steel cable—one hand splaying broad and possessive across the dip of her lower back, fingers splaying wide over shirt fabric, other cradling nape with thumb stroking soothing circles into tense muscles.

A ghost smirk tugged her hidden lips wider—mine, thrumming silent victory as Emily melted pliant in her hold.

Sometimes lying to the person who you love... makes your lie justified.
