Villain Saving System (BL)-Chapter 53 - 2.23 Let Them Come
Chapter 53: 2.23 Let Them Come
"Raphael!" The guards straightened up as soon as Lu Yizhou showed up from behind the trees, the soundly sleeping Theodore in his arms. "Where have you been? It’s very dangerous around so please don’t go anywhere with Young Master."
"My apologies. Young Master felt a little stuffy so we were just walking around the area." He put his forefinger on his lips. "Quiet down. He is sleeping."
The guards nodded and stole a glance toward Theodore who, even in his sleep, had his arms around Lu Yizhou’s neck, seemingly as if he wasn’t going to let go. They shook their heads inwardly. Young Master Theodore was already fifteen but he’s still acting so spoiled toward his servant. "Then, have a good rest. Tomorrow we will continue on our journey."
"Is anyone hurt?" Lu Yizhou asked.
"Just a few light injuries. By the way, that mercenary group is really capable!" The guards’ eyes brightened as soon as Gilith was brought up. "They have those powerful guns and bang bang bang! All the vampires died one by one. It’s so cool!"
The corner of Lu Yizhou’s mouth twitched. He pretended not to see the envy and longing in their eyes. Boys...no matter how grown up they were, would still admire weapons either way. "They are a famous mercenary group. It’s not surprising that they have a lot of experience in this area. If you apply to be a vampire hunter, you can also obtain a gun."
"And you know what?" The guard leaned in to whisper. "I heard they found a cabin full of human slaves! Those bastard vampires..." He gritted his teeth. "They’re too despicable!"
All Lu Yizhou could do was to force out a wry smile. He sensed Theodore stirred in his arms and patted the teenager’s back in comfort. "Then, I will take Young Master to rest first. Good work, everyone."
After Lu Yizhou left, the guards started to whisper to each other. "I heard the vampires only choose good looking and attractive people. There’s even one that’s as beautiful as the pearl hidden deep beyond the ocean. Do you think we should—"
His sentence received guffaws from everyone else. "Do you think you can still look at beautiful women in the same way after being exposed to Raphael’s face everyday?"
"Sigh...I know right. My bar is getting higher and higher because of him. Seriously, how can he look even more gorgeous than women?"
***
The next day, their group continued on the journey to the north; Gilith lagged behind because they had to take care of the scene and move the women to a safe place. The two groups finally went on their own way, Lu Yizhou sighed in relief. However he couldn’t completely lower his guard yet because he knew the world would create random scenarios just to make the protagonists and villain clash again. It was an inevitable chain of events.
They had been on the road for five days and if the weather permitted, then they would be able to arrive at Istar in three more days. Theodore was getting tired of sitting in the carriage. Nonetheless, because the one he’s with was Raphael, he didn’t have any qualms of being confined in the carriage for days. He even wished it could go on longer.
Since the day Lu Yizhou helped him relieve himself, they did it again multiple times in the carriage and in the middle of the woods hidden from the guards’ eyes. The vampire would then take a few droplets of blood just as Theodore reached the peak of ecstasy. In a way, this was beneficial for both of them. Theodore felt as if he was on cloud nine, delirious with the intense bliss he felt during the journey whereas Lu Yizhou was well satiated. He almost didn’t react anymore whenever he smelled other people’s blood because his body had gotten used to only consuming Theodore’s blood.
Lu Yizhou thought they could go on like this until they got to Istar but the world just didn’t want to give him a break. The last day before their carriage entered the coast of Istar, the guards came to them announcing that Gilith had caught up.
Theodore instantly reacted as if someone had just stepped his tail. "Why are they here again?! Didn’t they say that they’re going around to hunt for vampires?!"
"They are," The guard answered. "But it seems like they need to drop by the city for a while because they are taking the women hostages with them."
Theodore bit his nails. It wasn’t like Gilith was deliberately following them, it was because they had another matter to take care of in Istar. If they put it like that, Theodore had no reason to chase them away no matter how ridiculous and selfish he was! What to do... He had to get Raphael as far away from them as possible!
"And that...Young Master, their leader also wants to come here and discuss something with you."
Frown creased Theodore’s brows. "I don’t have anything to discuss with them." He hadn’t got the chance to refuse the meeting when he felt Lu Yizhou’s body beside him slightly stiffen. Turning to the vampire, he asked worriedly. "What’s wrong?"
Lu Yizhou narrowed his eyes to the distance. With his sharp vision, he could see Jeffrey approaching and the figure that was tugging behind him was...Selina!
[666: Host! Host! They are cominggg!]
[I can see.] He leaned down to whisper into Theodore’s ear. "Young Master."
Thinking there was something urgent, Theodore’s face became somber as he, too, lowered his volume to a whisper. "Is there something wrong?"
"You know I can sense another vampire’s presence." Lu Yizhou answered after receiving Theodore’s nod. "Jeffrey is coming and the woman beside him... it’s a dhampir. I don’t know if she can recognize this servant or not but..."
Theodore could hear the unspoken meaning behind Raphael’s sentence. Even if the woman couldn’t recognize Raphael, she could still sense the presence of another pureblood and this wasn’t any other pureblood but the King! Theodore scowled. He couldn’t let Raphael meet them. First and foremost, he had to get that dhampir away from Raphael! From his mother, he learned that a dhampir had the same characteristics as a human and he assumed that’s also why Jeffrey couldn’t recognize her in one glance. They could get under sunlight but they didn’t necessarily fear cross or holy water either. They could also eat human foods like normal but... The corner of Theodore’s lips curled into a cold smile. They would still show the characteristics of a vampire when they came into contact with blood. Theodore beckoned to the guard and whispered something in his ears.
Turning to Raphael, he showed a self assuring smile. "Don’t worry and leave everything to me!"
Lu Yizhou had thousands of ways to solve his current predicament but to see Theodore getting so proud of himself, he nodded and decided to relish in it wholeheartedly. "Then I will have to rely on Young Master."
That—That sentence sounded too beautiful! The tips of Theodore’s ears burned and he couldn’t suppress his grin even after the guard announced Jeffrey’s arrival. "Come, come. Let them come." He said joyfully.
Jeffrey was ready to receive rejection, considering how their master seemed to harbor intense dislike toward him but when he found the guard easily granted him access, he raised a brow in surprise. "Can I really enter?"
"Please." The guard smiled. "Young Master Theodore has been expecting you."
Expecting him? Jeffrey scoffed softly and turned to Selina with a smile. "You heard him. Let’s go in."
Selina looked around with a cautious look. Seeing the grandeur uniform which the guards donned and the large luxurious carriage, she instantly knew that whoever she was going to meet, it wasn’t someone ordinary. She held Jeffrey’s arm, fear flashed through her eyes. "W—Where are we?"
The man didn’t intend to sell her to some old rich man, did he?! From the past few days they were together, Selina could see that Jeffrey wasn’t this kind of person but she wasn’t rest assured either. Jeffrey was the most powerful figure in the group so Selina thought she would receive the same treatment if she became his woman. She was confident in her own charm, even vampires couldn’t resist her. However, her own belief started to shake for the past few days. No matter what she did or how hard she discreetly tried to incite him, Jeffrey almost looked... unaffected. How could it be?! Selina was sure she was the most beautiful woman on the continent!
"Don’t worry." The man patted her hand with a smile. "We are just visiting an acquaintance. You said that you have nowhere to go and my group isn’t exactly able to bring a woman around either."
Selina stared at him incredulously and blurted out, her tone harsher than she expected. "So... you’re going to send me to them?!"
Jeffrey was taken aback for a moment before throwing his head back in a guffaw. Selina shivered at the smile which didn’t reach his eyes. The man didn’t answer her question and instead, pulled her along. "Come on. We should pay our respect." He leaned down to whisper. "I know you have been targeting me because of my status and wealth. Don’t worry, you’re going to like him because he’s richer and nobler than me. He’s a young master from an affluent merchant family, you know."
"You...!" Selina’s face paled. She couldn’t believe that Jeffrey could say something like that. Yes, she indeed sought wealth and power in men because she was sick to live like a rat who should protect her own dignity for fear that it would be forcibly taken by some irresponsible man but she wasn’t that promiscuous either! If...If she didn’t like Jeffrey, would she even want to swallow her pride and stick to him like a leech?!
She was half dragged and half pulled through the circle of guards. Right in front of the fireplace, sat two men. Selina’s attention was directly pulled to the silver eyed and midnight blue haired man, goosebumps rose all along his arms. Her eyes wide in shock. W—What kind of presence is this? She hadn’t sensed this kind of intense, imposing aura before, so sharp it could kill. Even though he was just sitting there quietly, Selina could sense the bloodlust and darkness from him. Chills crawled up the soles of her feet and her knees buckled. She almost couldn’t breathe.
Jeffrey snapped his head back, frowning. "What’s wrong with you?"
