His chest heaved up and down from how much he just exerted himself, he had been fighting for 7 straight hours!
And this was despite not sleeping the previous night as he supervised Theodore’s training.
After more than 7 straight hours of blitzing his way from level to level since Theodore took her rest, climbing the mountain at a stunning speed, he finally arrived at Level 35 of the mountain.
At this level of the mountain, all the Qi Beasts were Level 30+ C Rank Qi Beasts, monsters with unique traits and powerful abilities.
And there were thousands of them filling the realm!
Yet, Julian just conquered the 35th level, and now he was catching his breath.
At some point, the mountain had gone quiet in the wake of his slaughter even before it came to an end.
This was not the natural quiet of wind over stone or of distant calls echoing through the cliffs, this was a dead silence that was heavy like deep-sea water.
Bodies lay scattered across the slope in hundreds, stacked in piles of mutilated flesh and blood.
There were all kinds of Qi Beasts from great horned Qi Beasts to winged predators, to burrowing things that had dragged themselves from the ground- now nothing more than torn flesh and broken bone under the blade of a single Demon.
Blood soaked into the soil in dark, glistening patches, turning the gray mountain path into something almost black.
The air reeked of iron and rot, thick enough to taste.
And at the center of it all stood Julian, unmoving like a statue as he basked in the wake of his slaughter.
His silhouette cut against the pale mountain sky, tall and absolute as though the world itself had stopped to acknowledge him.
Blood dripped steadily from his hands, from the edge of his blade, and from the torn edges of his armor.

His body was already healing.
In the end, despite how stronger than them he was, fighting against thousands of increasingly stronger Qi Beasts was a task that would wear on anyone. The only reason why he sustained it for so long was because of the endless qi reserves of his Dragon Qi Core.
Having endless qi meant that as a Mage with the catalogue of skills that he had, he could keep on going till he was tired.
A faint heat shimmered around his body.
This was not fire, his infernal hellfire already cooled down. This was something deeper as the air bent subtly, warping in slow waves around him like the breath of something buried far below the world.
The ground beneath his feet was stained darker than the rest as though even the mountain recognized him as something unnatural now, the mountain had marked the presence of a new apex predator.
And around him, the corpses seemed to recoil from where he stood, forming a wide, empty ring around him as if even in death, the Qi Beasts had tried to crawl away from the catastrophe that hunted them.
A low wind began to move across the slope.
It carried no life, no sound of wings, and no distant growls. No shifting of hidden creatures either; only the faint, wet sound of blood sliding over stone. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
And just like that, 70% of the life in the 35th realm of Dragon’s Tooth was gone, erased from existence under his tyranny.
Since transmigrating into this world, of all the battles that Julian had participated in, this slaughter ranked at the very top of them in terms of his bloodlust, the non-stop and ever-increasing intensity, and the excitement.
It was over but his blood still hummed for more.
At some point, a fully recovered Theodore finally appeared beside him, staring at the scene of carnage in this realm of the mountain with a look of disbelief on her face.
’He already admitted that I am currently higher leveled than him since he’s still recovering, so how...?’

She felt like she could crush stones with her bare fists, she felt like the world was finally bending to her will.

Back then, she hunted Level 5 to Level 15 Qi Beasts, but Lord Zaratul had been hunting Level 15 to Level 30 and 35 Qi Beasts consistently within the past 7 hours!
The difference in difficulty was like heaven and earth, and yet, he did it in even less time than her and in an even more imperious manner.

In that moment, Theodore finally understood why so many powerful Awakened willingly followed this Demon.
This was because he was an anomaly.
He was different.
