Village Doctor's Women-Chapter 53: Big Brother is coming back
Young people are just different. That was Wang Jian’s thought at this moment. He had never tried doing things outdoors or in the wild, nor could he quite accept the idea.
When he escorted Wen Ya out of the clinic, the way Wang Jian looked at Liu Zi had already changed. He couldn’t help it; this man was highly capable, not just some ordinary ruffian. Wang Jian no longer saw him as a thug but regarded him with the admiration reserved for someone impressive as he sent the two of them off.
"Xiao Yu, do you think I’m getting old?" Wang Jian asked as he watched Liu Zi and the girl leave. For a brief moment, he had genuinely entertained that thought.
"Why would you suddenly think that?" Ren Yu shook her head, not understanding. "You’re only in your twenties. How are you old?"
Ren Yu glanced at the departing Wen Ya and couldn’t help but pout. "Are you just jealous because Liu Zi found himself a high school student?"
"How could I be?" Wang Jian immediately denied it. "What do you take me for? I’m not a beast."
"Right... you’re definitely not a beast." Ren Yu rolled her eyes and whispered, "You’re worse than a beast."
"What do you mean by that? How am I worse than a beast? Make yourself clear."
Ren Yu turned and walked away, muttering softly, "A whole person is standing right in front of you, yet it’s like you’re blind. If that isn’t worse than a beast, what is? Even an animal knows to pursue what it wants, but you’re worse than they are."
Wang Jian wasn’t deaf; her words were a clear accusation that he was dense and unromantic. He grew annoyed that this girl would dare to speak to him like that, challenging his authority.
"Hey! Were you not spanked enough as a child? Is your skin itching now? Who taught you to talk like that?"
Wang Jian lifted his hand and slapped Ren Yu on the behind. The crisp smack sent a subtle ripple across the fabric of her clothes, and the delightful sensation of the impact, even through the material, was intoxicating.
Wang Jian’s surprise attack was highly effective. "Ah!" Ren Yu cried out, quickly covering her rear. She spun around to glare at Wang Jian, her eyes wide with shock and embarrassment. "How could you hit... there?"
"It’s your own fault for misbehaving and talking nonsense." Wang Jian felt a flicker of regret after the slap, but Ren Yu’s reaction made him want to experiment further. Ignoring his racing heart, he stared intently at her and said, "If you don’t listen in the future, this is how I’ll punish you."
"You’re horrible!"
Really?
Deep down, Xiao Yu felt a faint sense of anticipation. Her cheeks flushed bright red, and she couldn’t bring herself to meet Wang Jian’s gaze. A curious new quality seemed to fill the quiet clinic’s atmosphere. Both their minds began to race, as if they had just punctured some invisible membrane.
Ren Yu bit her lip, stealing glances at Wang Jian. She touched the spot where he had hit her, the tingling from the forceful blow still lingering. The man’s strength was too much; he showed her no tenderness at all.
Despite this thought, she was also vividly aware of something else: she had derived a sense of pleasure from the pain. Ever since discovering how much she enjoyed it when Wang Jian patted her head—so much that she would nuzzle his hand like a kitten—she suspected she might have some unique preferences.
I can’t really be a masochist, can I...
What had been a mere suspicion now felt more certain. That single slap had made her heart tremble and her knees feel weak. The sensation was like an addictive poison.
"Have you learned your lesson?" Wang Jian asked gently. "Does it hurt?"
"No, it doesn’t."
She had heard her roommates discussing this kind of feeling during late-night talks in their dorm. Ren Yu hadn’t understood back then, but it was different now. Experiencing it firsthand, she finally comprehended what her roommate had meant.
Wang Jian held a special place in her life. He had always been like an older brother, a brilliant student who was the model child everyone’s parents talked about. Growing up under his influence, she had always idolized him. Even now, she still held onto those feelings. She had hoped that studying medicine would help her catch up to him, only to find he had become even more formidable.
Now, whenever Wang Jian was physically close to her, that emotion seemed to sublimate into something else. It was just as her roommate had described: a feeling that made her want to be his little kitten.
The sudden thought panicked her, and her body’s reaction left her flustered. She seized the opportunity to flee, not daring to stay a moment longer.
"I... I’m going to head home and get some sleep."
With that, Ren Yu turned and ran out of the clinic without another word.
Wang Jian watched her retreating figure, feeling somewhat dazed. He found himself looking down at his right hand, the tactile memory still lingering in his palm. I’d never noticed before how perky and supple her bottom was. He was certainly aware of his own inner turmoil; it was the first time in his life he had felt such a powerful reaction to a specific part of a person’s body.
In the instant of the slap, he had experienced a thrill of conquest, a feeling that no mere sight could ever replace. Have I just unlocked some new attribute? This desire welling up from deep within...
Wang Jian sat stunned for a moment, his mind drifting. It seems I’ve always harbored a particular inclination; perhaps this attribute has been there from the very beginning.
He sat on the stool, lost in thought. After Ren Yu left, the clinic remained empty. Even the village committee office next door was silent. The widow and the village chief hadn’t come to work since the free clinic event, likely exhausted from the past few days.
He was happy to have the peace and quiet. Taking advantage of the free time, he pulled out his phone and started scrolling through his social media feed. His feed and WeChat groups had been particularly interesting lately, as news of Zhao Dezhu’s downfall had begun to spread.
Wang Jian saw many old classmates discussing it in their alumni group chat. His graduating class was scattered across various hospitals, so news like this traveled fast. However, no one connected the incident to Wang Jian. Although Zhao Dezhu was the reason Wang Jian had been driven out, it was obvious Wang Jian didn’t have the power to take down Lao Zhao. After all, while Beijing was a huge city, the medical community was a small world, and no one would imagine the cause originated in a small mountain village hundreds of kilometers away.
"It’s about time Lao Zhao got what was coming to him. Serves him right."
"He got fined and his position is under review. I get the feeling he must have offended someone important."
"Doesn’t Lao Zhao have connections?"
"What good are connections now? The oversight is so strict, and he was caught red-handed."
"He dug his own grave."
"@Wang Jian Hey, Lao Wang, this bastard got taken down. Aren’t you going to say something?"
"Yeah, didn’t Wang Jian use to work under Director Zhao? I heard he went back to his hometown. Is that true?"
"..."
Wang Jian had been examining Wen Ya when these messages were sent, so he hadn’t replied. The group chat quickly moved on to other topics—who was getting married, who was competing for a promotion, and so on. He scanned the conversation but didn’t bother responding; it was all just noise.
Just then, a chat notification popped up that made his heart skip a beat. The contact name read "Big Brother."
"Xiao Jian, are you doing okay at home?"
Seeing those words, Wang Jian froze. He and his older brother were WeChat friends but had barely ever spoken. The chat window was completely blank aside from this new message. On his old phone, there might have been the occasional holiday greeting. But ever since he found out about his sister-in-law, Wang Jian didn’t know how to face his brother.
"I’m alright." 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
Wang Jian typed and deleted his message several times before settling on the short reply. Then he asked, "What’s up?"
"Well, I’m planning to come home for a couple of days to take care of some things. Are you busy?"
His brother was coming back. The news instantly made Wang Jian tense up. His focus sharpened, and he sat bolt upright, his fingers flying across the screen. "I’m not busy. When will you be back?"
"I’ll be at the station this afternoon. If you’re free, come and pick me up. I have a lot of stuff with me, so remember to arrange for a car."
