Village Doctor's Women-Chapter 198 - 193 Inexplicable Cai Family Father and Daughter
Xu Qian wanted to relax and enjoy herself, but she couldn’t completely let go. After all, if someone woke up to use the bathroom and saw them, it would cause a whole new set of problems. Her recent falling-out with Wang Jian was precisely because of these messy affairs that couldn’t see the light of day. She hoped to avoid such things whenever possible. She wasn’t asking for much—just for the two of them to be a little happier together.
Wang Jian, of course, had no idea what Xu Qian was thinking, but his thoughts were much the same.
As long as my brother’s condition remains unstable, I can’t be with her openly.
He personally didn’t mind, but he knew Xu Qian did, so he tried his best to avoid touching that sore spot.
"Be a little gentler."
Since Xu Qian had said so, Wang Jian naturally nodded.
He deliberately tempered the force of the qi he used to stimulate her acupoints. Even so, Xu Qian felt it was almost more than she could bear.
She opened her eyes, and her gaze upon Wang Jian was like a shimmering pool of spring water.
"Right there... that feels so good," she whispered. "Don’t stop."
He was hitting all the right spots. Who could refuse?
I’m just an ordinary mortal, after all. And since no one’s watching, I might as well act on my impulses.
No longer able to hold back, Xu Qian murmured softly and turned to grab Wang Jian’s hand.
"Stop the massage."
"What’s wrong?" Wang Jian asked, startled. The moment he saw the look in her eyes, he understood and chuckled.
Xu Qian paid him no mind, simply standing and pulling him toward the bedroom.
While she had come to terms with their situation, she wasn’t about to do anything with Wang Jian in the living room. That was a little too thrilling, especially with so many people in the house today. She still preferred to do such things in the privacy of a bedroom.
"Let’s go inside."
Wang Jian said nothing, letting Xu Qian lead him by the hand as he obediently followed.
The moment they entered the room, Xu Qian tossed him back onto the bed.
Normally, Xu Qian wouldn’t have the strength to move Wang Jian, but he was more than cooperative. He went along with her momentum, falling back onto the mattress and watching her approach.
For once, he was happy not to be the one taking the initiative. He just lay there smiling, watching Xu Qian and waiting for her next move, eager to enjoy this different side of her.
But Xu Qian simply stood there. After laughing for a moment, a mischievous smile played on her lips.
Wang Jian propped his head with his hands, lying back on the bed with his feet planted comfortably on the floor. "Come here," he said. "Why are you just standing over there?"
"Mm-mm." Ignoring Wang Jian, Xu Qian wagged a finger from side to side. "Don’t be in such a hurry."
After she spoke, Wang Jian’s eyes widened. Xu Qian had started to dance. It was just like one of those short videos on an app like TikTok.
He never imagined Xu Qian could dance like this. She even took out her phone and put on some music as she swayed.
Wang Jian drew a sharp breath, watching with great interest as his eyes widened even further.
Paired with a viral track, Xu Qian’s dancing became even more captivating, creating a unique atmosphere in the dim light.
Wang Jian chuckled. "Looks like you came prepared."
Xu Qian walked over and sat on the bed. "Do you like it?" she asked.
Before Wang Jian could move or answer, she reached out and pressed him down, pinning his hands.
This was a first for Wang Jian. The novelty of the situation was thrilling, and he played along. "Actually," he replied, "I prefer to be on top."
"Hmph." With a soft snort, Xu Qian sealed his unromantic lips with her own.
The room fell quiet. At this point, preferences were no longer important. Their actions spoke for themselves.
It wasn’t until the early hours of the morning that Wang Jian snuck back to his own room. Before he left, he listened carefully for any sounds from the others and only returned once he was sure the coast was clear.
「The next morning.」
Wang Jian had just stepped out of his room and finished washing up when he ran into Cai Qiong. He wasn’t sure if it was his imagination, but her face turned red and she avoided his gaze the moment she saw him. I have a feeling there’s something I don’t know, he thought.
"Did you sleep well last night?" Wang Jian asked, greeting her.
"Very... very well," Cai Qiong said bashfully, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Aside from waking up once to use the bathroom, I slept very soundly. Your massage really helped. It’s been a long time since I’ve slept so peacefully."
As a psychotherapist, Cai Qiong often helped patients with insomnia caused by psychological issues. However, neither hypnosis nor medication was as soothing as Wang Jian’s technique. She had woken up this morning feeling utterly refreshed and invigorated.
"That’s good to hear." Wang Jian gave her a quizzical look, feeling there was more to her words. Sleeping soundly is one thing, but why be so bashful about it?
But as he watched Cai Qiong walk away, she didn’t say anything more.
It wasn’t Cai Qiong’s fault, though. The truth was, she had overheard something incredible last night.
After Wang Jian’s massage, she had been so drowsy that she fell asleep the moment her head hit the pillow, not even managing to take a shower. As a result, she was jolted awake in the middle of the night by a full bladder. After using the bathroom, she felt the urge to find someone to talk to. The events of the past few days were overwhelming, and she desperately needed to vent. Her first instinct was to find Wang Jian.
According to their original plan, before all these complications arose, she was supposed to pick Wang Jian up from the train station. She had been eager to do so, though she was too shy to admit why. While Wang Jian was away, she had frequently visited the village to keep Xu Qian company. She claimed she was worried her sister-in-law might get lonely, but only she knew the real reason. It was as if staying in the places Wang Jian had been would somehow weaken the hold his image had on her heart.
