1951 Shir Asking for Divine Aid

Why would buying time work?

Because as a Calamity-Rank beast, Marina's father had certain restrictions. Plus, he could not remain in Labh Salem for long.

As long as Eren kept himself and his allies safe from the dragon's fury, he would have enough time to grow before her father could return to Labh Salem.

Thus, Marina agreed to become Eren's wife after seeing his Immortal Domain in the making. Even though it would take considerable time for him to achieve godhood and fully unlock his Immortal Domain, at least he had the potential.

She could work with him and hide in the deepest fringes of Labh Salem if necessary.

This time, her father wasn't going to stay in Labh Salem for long—his visit was merely to check on the Immortal Artifact he had left in their care. Moreover, he would be preoccupied with preparations for the Witches' Sabbath.

Once the Sabbath concluded, Labh Salem's World Will would force him to leave the world. Marina was counting on these factors to keep herself and Eren safe during this period.

Of course, Marina knew she would eventually have to tell Eren about her father's SSS-Rank status. However, she had decided to wait until they got to know each other better.

She never imagined that her sister would use this information as leverage to pressure Eren into reserving a region for the dragonkind.

She had to admit—her sister was even more ambitious than she was, despite still choosing to remain under their father's control.

"You… you fucking lunatic! Did you just decide to ignore everything I said?"

Azurea seethed, glaring at Eren with barely suppressed anger.

Eren chuckled and shook his head before replying. "No. I heard you loud and clear, you little lizard bitch. It's just that I'm not scared of your father."

"You… you dare call me a bitch?" Azurea gritted her teeth, her fury rising like a volcano on the verge of eruption.

"You dared to call me a 'fucking lunatic.' Did you really think I'd just take your insults lying down? You shouldn't mistake the courtesy I've shown you and your sister for your rights," Eren said with a casual shrug.

"Are you not a lunatic?" Azurea scoffed, her expression filled with scorn.

"Creating chaos here, disrupting the ritual, accepting that air headed shark as your brother, and not even fearing my father—who could kill you as effortlessly as someone swatting an annoying fly.

And now, you want to forcefully marry us? If you're not a lunatic, then what are you?" she asked, folding her arms under her chest, clearly aggravated.

"In some ways, I am indeed a lunatic," Eren admitted with a nod, much to Azurea's dismay. "However, I don't like being called that," he added flatly.

"Your likes and dislikes have nothing to do with me," Azurea snorted.

"That may be true," Eren said, sighing dramatically.

"But your words still hurt me, you know. It's like calling a man bald—he knows he's bald, but that doesn't mean he enjoys hearing it."

He then smirked, his gaze running over Azurea from head to toe as if admiring the draconic charm she possessed.

"Didn't your father teach you basic courtesy, you little naughty lizard? I might just have to re-educate you myself… as your second father. You can call me 'Daddy' after we get to know each other a little better," he added with a wicked smile.

"You…. you… YOU F–"

Before Azurea could erupt into another fit of fury, a hesitant voice interrupted, "Uh… brother," the sea monster finally spoke, having observed Eren and Azurea's banter. "I… I think we should attack that temple now."

For some reason, Eren didn't feel rushed to finish what he had started. The sea monster didn't mind that he was taking his time getting to know the dragon sisters. However, just a few moments ago, he had sensed something peculiar from Baga Island.

As a pseudo SS-Rank entity, the sea monster's senses were highly attuned to even the slightest fluctuations over a vast area. He could tell that Raashim Temple was up to something.

And from the way it felt, it didn't seem like it would be in Eren's favor to waste too much time here. It was better to deal with Shir now rather than later.

"So that guy is finally making his move, huh?" Eren smiled, already understanding what the sea monster might have sensed.

After all, his subordinates were already surrounding Baga Island. Even though they hadn't yet launched a full-scale assault on Raashim Temple's base, they were still monitoring the situation from a distance. The Demon Earls regularly relayed information to Eren, keeping him in the loop about developments on the battlefield.

"Don't worry, brother. They're only trying to contact their god," Eren said casually. "Heh… it's nothing serious. We still have time to take care of your problem with the Immortal Artifact."

"But… but this doesn't seem right. What if… what if—" the sea monster hesitated, clearly uneasy.

If Eren knew that Shir was trying to contact God Raashim, wouldn't it be better to attack the island now and prevent him from receiving divine aid?

Why was Eren acting as if he wanted Shir to succeed in reaching out to his god?

The sea monster was very confident in his own strength when facing someone like Shir. The imprisonment had actually helped him deepen his understanding of his Elemental Attainments a lot.

Furthermore, as long as the Immortal Artifact was with him, he was basically unkillable.

As such, the sea monster was as eager as he was confident in settling his score with Shir. However, he could not remain confident when facing an Immortal Being.

Even an SS-Rank beast was nothing more than a bigger ant for such existence. Even though their powers were limited in mortal worlds, they could still get rid of him easily if they decided to target him irrespective of the cost.

"He… he already knows this?"

Realization dawned on Marina and Azurea as well. They finally understood why Eren had been so willing to engage in unrelated discussions instead of rushing into battle for so long.

He wasn't being careless—he had a plan all along.
