The whole venue went silent in an instant.

It was like they had all heard something shocking. A few people were even expecting Aiden to say that it was a joke.

But he didn't.

His eyes looked resolute. He was serious. He wasn't joking. It wasn't a prank.

He really wasn't going to accept his award.

Wade who was sitting in the back couldn't help but frown. His worst nightmare had come true.

On the backstage, Levi Ritchie was baffled. He asked one of the staff members if something like this was planned. But he shook his head.

No one had any idea what was going on.

On the stage, Aiden took a deep breath. What he had said couldn't be taken back.

The only way forward was to continue what he had started. He needed to be strong here.

Taking another breath, he continued.

"If I'm being honest, a week ago I was extremely excited when my name came in the nominations. I even dreamt of this moment that night but a lot of things happened after that day. My friend, Dustin Redford told me something that really changed my perspective on the Golden Globes and The American Press association."

Aiden could see Philips Fraser frowning when he took Dustin's name. People started whispering wondering what was going on.

Some people already have an idea on where Aiden was going with this.

"What's going on? What is he saying?"

"What did the association do? Is there something I don't know?"

"Ah, this year's event is truly becoming one of the best."

"I thought those were just rumours. Is Aiden really accusing the association on such a stage?"

Those whispers didn't reach Aiden's ears as his eyes just looked at Philips Fraser who was stunned.

"Six months ago, Mr. Philips Fraser, the president of American Press association, molested my friend Dustin Redford. He filed a complaint in the association but got blacklisted in the end. I'm pretty sure some people in the crowd already know about it."

Another silence set in.

Some people gulped and sneaked glances at Philips Fraser who looked like he wanted nothing but to shoot Aiden in his head.

Others felt surprised but were very impressed by the guts shown by Aiden.

"When I got to know about it, I was conflicted but in the end, I can't take an award from an organisation that had become a shell of its past. That's just not me. So, I'm extremely sorry but I am rejecting this award tonight."

After finishing that speech, he just put the trophy on the stage and walked off. If he hadn't, security guards would have taken him away.

In the whole venue, people were just taking in what had just happened.

Both Zavier and Ray just looked at Aiden with worried eyes as he walked off stage. They knew that the repercussions from this on Aiden won't be light.

Meaning, Jimmy Holder, the comedian-actor who had called the whole award show meaningless on the red carpet was laughing, holding a glass of wine.

He had never seen something like this in his career. And he had seen a lot.

"Aiden is stupid. The guy is going to not get any other Hollywood movie. Philips Fraser isn't some powerless man."

Someone muttered besides Jimmy and he just looked at him sharply and replied.

"Are we calling people with guts stupid these days? At least he has the gall to call out people and not take awards that are given by corrupted people."

The man was stupefied hearing that.

While on the backstage, the scene could just be described as panic. People were running around here and there, not knowing what to do.

A lot of people were checking up on the reactions. As the whole event was live, Aiden's accusation towards Philips Fraser was heard by all.

It was already spreading through the internet.

In all the chaos, there was only one man who had a smile on his face. It was more like a grin to be honest.

The man with the grin was Levi Ritchie.

A staff member who was checking the online comments saw him grinning and couldn't help but ask.

"Sir, why are you grinning? It's not a matter to be happy about."

"Ah, why isn't it?" He asked in an accent that resembled one of a Brit. Levi was originally from London and had settled in America.

"Because people are going to talk about this. It won't look good for the Golden Globes. I don't even know what will happen after today. Something like this had never happened before."

The staff member rumbled in worry.

"Precisely." Levi said, maintaining his grin. "The Golden Globes had become stagnant. Something crazy like this is surely going to make it the most talked about award show of this year. I should personally thank Aiden for this. I don't know what will happen to him but that lad is surely crazy in a right way."

Like Levi said, Aiden's rejection of the award for the Best lead actor and accusation on Philips Fraser spread faster than a popular actress's leaked nudes.

Ten minutes to the incident, Golden Globes was trending on top of Sparrow with Aiden's name right behind it. Actually, 7 of the top 10 trends were related to Aiden and the event.

Aiden's speech was already going viral all over the world. An hour after it, even news channels started covering it.

Even if the marketing team of Golden Globes had spent 100 million dollars, this wouldn't be possible.

On the internet, people were already talking about it in detail. Even celebrities have tweeted about it.

A sexual assault accusation on one of Hollywood biggies in such a big event had truly attracted the eyes of everyone.
