Vengeance of The Broken Lycan Prince [BL]-Chapter 421: His Little Minx… Husband??
[TAMIKO]
There was no telling what was next.
One moment, the battlefield was screeching with the sound of swords clanging against each other, and the next, a patient was down again, on his knees, defeated, while his father watched in the distance.
It was as if the world itself had held its breath, like the king wasn’t sure what to make of this moment, and it hurt, not in the way anyone would have expected.
It was the way that their hearts threatened to pop out of their chests, the way that nothing was even making sense at the moment.
It was in the way that life was slowly starting to make more sense than they had ever thought possible, and in the middle of it was a prince who had tried to get up and fight again. A prince who tried to defend the love of his life against.
A prince who hadn’t gotten up with a sword, but had managed to do some damage before the poison he was so adamant to deal with took effect. And they watched in silence as the battle slowly fell into a different kind of silence.
There were slowed hits, slowed breathing. There was nothing about this that screamed mercy in the hall of kings, and that was when King Zaffuto looked at his son, and then at the invaders who were still fighting a slowed battlefield.
And the king, always strong, always determined, felt his knees buckle.
That was his child over there.
That was the only reminder of his beautiful Liana—his queen of hearts. And while he hated the fear of losing, the king hoped to the gods and above and beyond that Kosta would let Tamiko go.
That Kosta would be the anchor that both the father and son needed because if that anchor dropped, they would cease to exist, and Zaffuto Hinata would make certain of it to the very end.
"You’re crazy. You’re fucking crazy," Kosta sighed softly as he cradled Tamiko.
He hated what had become of him, and he had so many regrets. This wasn’t where he had wanted this to get them, but the choice had been made, and Tamiko’s stubbornness, he had always been determined to see to it that the madness ended.
Maybe the cost was too high, maybe this wasn’t how shit was to be focused, but who the fuck was supposed to explain that to most?
"For you, always for you," Tamiko said with a smile as his chest ached. He should have tried to teach his power. He could have channeled his father’s strength and regained all the power he had set aside, but he loved being here.
He loved the attitude he was getting, but not any attention.
Kosta’s attention.
Everyone else could go to hell, and Tamio wouldn’t be bothered to ask what the fuck had happened and why. That was what was staring at him right now. He wanted Kosta to keep looking at him like that.
Ever so desperately.
Maybe it was a twisted fate that Tamiko was leaning into. But ten years without the cinnamon scent embedded in his system was something that had his heart aching a thousand times over.
Ten years of drought.
Ten years of a life that he never even wanted to live.
No one was ever close to the way Kosta smelled. And now that Tamiko was here, in Kosta’s arms, breathing on the calming pheromones, Tamiko didn’t want to leave. He didn’t want to get up.
He just wanted to stay here and be Kosta’s baby, even if it was just for a moment. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
He didn’t want to be the prince anymore.
He wanted to belong to Kosta and only Kosta.
Surely that wasn’t much to ask, right?
And so, the Kawai prince shut his eyes, pushing himself closer to Kosta’s chest even though there was no space in between.
He chose to ignore the ache he was feeling and even the way that the poison was spreading, all so he could be close to Kosta. All so his Erasthai wouldn’t leave him. Tamiko didn’t want to get up from here.
"Gods, I missed you," was all he breathed before his breaths slowed down, resulting in a panicking Kosta. And Tamiko chuckled, because fate worked in crazy ways. Just last evening, Tamiko had been doing the begging.
He was the one trying to save Kosta, determined to see to it that his Erasthai was happy. And today, barely twenty-four hours later, he was in the same position he had been cradling Kosta in.
But that didn’t matter because the only eyes that mattered here were Kosta’s.
Whatever Kosta wanted, Tamiko would give it, even if it was his last breath.
"Stay with me, please," Kosta frantically begged.
Tamiko smiled sheepishly at him as he turned his head towards the sword that lay on the ground, discarded and left to gather dirt. The very sword his father had gotten him, one that had been forged in love and chaos.
"Don’t cry, Kosta... I hate it when you cry. It makes me want to burn the world over and over. Please don’t cry, my princess. You’re too beautiful to be crying over a ragged prince, my love," Tamiko said softly.
His smile was pained when he felt a teardrop on his cheek, the reminder that his Erasthai was with him, scared of the outcome, worried sick about what would become of the love they had struggled to fight through.
"Shut up," Kosta said angrily as he wiped his face, though he had a faint smile on his face when he looked at Tamiko.
"You’re dying here, and you still have the energy to make jokes, maybe I should just kill you myself," Kosta pouted.
He leaned in to kiss Tamiko’s forehead, something that had the prince staring at him like he had denied the young Hinata the one thing that meant everything.
"You’re not being fair, Kosta," Tamiko said as he pulled himself up just enough to kiss Kosta lightly on the lips. It was like he wasn’t dying. Like this was just another day for them, and that they had chosen the battlefield for a picnic.
Tamiko looked like he didn’t care what happened to him.
Gods, was it pissing Kosta off.
It was like the prince himself wasn’t sure what level of insanity had possessed him. But whatever it was, the young prince prayed that it would last as long as possible.
"I’m still angry with you," Kosta reminded, before he leaned close and captured Tamiko’s lips tenderly. The kiss was soft, desperate, filled with everything that they didn’t want to deal with openly here. It was as if they had just met each other again after so long, and Tamiko loved that Kosta was being tender with him.
"There is poison in my body, but you kiss me like my husband," Tamiko teased, and Kosta, in retaliation, just captured Tamiko’s lips roughly, as if that was the reminder the prince needed to remember who they were to each other.
"I am your husband. And you’re mine. Only mine. I would turn everyone here into goat meat if they so much as looked at you differently," Kosta said, and Tamiko smiled sheepishly.
"But I’m dying, Kosta," Tamiko teased and slapped his arm harshly.
"Oww, if this is how you greet me when you come from war, I won’t let you go to war again," Tamiko said as he clutched his arm, but then the action had his chest aching even more.
He was trying to hide it, desperate to make only happy memories for his Kosta on this bloodied field. It was the only thing he could think of because if Tamiko was being honest, his omega had gone through enough already.
He couldn’t watch Kosta fall apart because of him, too.
It was crazy what the prince had turned himself into, but then by now, everyone on this goddamn battlefield was aware of the bare truth before them.
The crown prince of Kawai only ever listened to his omega.
He lived and fought for his omega, and if need be, he would die for his omega.
"If you leave me, I will never forgive you. I will spend all my days mourning you. I will never love another. I will live a very miserable life, and you won’t be able to do anything about it in the afterlife.
"If you leave, I promise to be the worst version of myself. I promise to let people trample on me and make sure they never get tired of mocking me. I hope to put myself through the worst of hells until the very end of eternity.
"That, my dear husband, is a really long time," Kosta threatened.
Tamiko gulped thickly, the horror already an imagination he couldn’t deal with in his head. The way Kosta had spelled it all out vividly was horrifying as fuck. The picture had been well-painted, and he wasn’t going to die today or tomorrow.
He couldn’t let himself die.
"I get it! I won’t die. Besides, if I die, I won’t get to hear you call me husband again. And that is something better than the pain I’m feeling," Tamiko said.
Kosta stared at his Erasthai, as if this was truly the first time he had laid his eyes on such a shameless man.
"This little minx," Kosta sighed, his hold on Tamiko never relenting.
"Husband. I am your little husband, your big husband. I could show you, y’know... the weight of that which is yours and yours alone. Want me to showcase it to the warriors? I don’t mi—"
"Finish that sentence and you will NEVER see me naked again."
"Papa, I need help with my wound!" Tamiko shouted instead.
