Chapter 592: Force fed dog food

After hours of endless, Da Hei’s car soon approached the meeting point. The sky was a deep violet, the last light fading behind distant hills. He felt tired, a dull frustration weighing on him, but he knew better than to delay.

He pushed open the car door and stepped out. The air was cool and still. Before he could close the door behind him, a force like steel claws grabbed his neck. It lifted him off the ground with brutal strength, slamming him against the side of the car. A dent formed beneath him, metal creaking eerily. His face turned red as blood rushed to his head, veins throbbing visibly.

He struggled, fists pounding against the invisible grip. Sharp, green vines suddenly shot from his hands, twisting and curling like living things. He fired them at the unseen attacker, but they were caught and torn apart effortlessly. Strong fingers wrapped around his wrists, pinning them down.

His youthful face twisted with anger and fear. "Le-let me go!" he yelled, voice cracking.

From the shadows emerged a tall woman. Her hair was a long ponytail that reached her waist, swaying as she moved with deliberate steps. A scar cut diagonally across her cheek, sharp and dark. Her eyes flashed cold as she held a rifle in one hand, her fingers curling around it like a predator. Da Hei’s eyes widened in recognition. It was her. His handler.

She stepped closer, each step steady and commanding. Her face was calm but fierce. She stopped just inches from him, their noses nearly touching. A sneer curled her lips as she looked down at him, her gaze sharp and unforgiving.

He looked up at her, fear and defiance battling in his eyes. The night seemed to swallow the silence between them.

Da Hei tried to look away, but she grabbed his chin and forced him to meet her eyes. Her grip was firm to the point of breaking his jaw.

"Little Hei," she said softly but with weight behind her voice. "Do you know how much trouble you have caused me? Huh?"

His breath was shallow, barely enough to fill his lungs. He stared at her, words caught in his throat.

She leaned closer, her eyes narrowing. "Why aren’t you responding, you little piece of shit?"

Da Hei’s lips trembled. "I... can’t," he whispered, his voice cracking.

Without warning, she let go. He stumbled, sliding down the side of the car. He collapsed onto the ground, miserable. His chest heaved as he coughed harshly, eyes glassy with pain.

She crouched down slowly, her face calm but cold. She met his eyes, her gaze piercing. Her hand pressed firmly on his chest, pushing him back against the metal. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

Then she punched him hard in the jaw. Pain shot through his head. He hissed, clutching his aching face.

"Do you know how much it cost me to bring all those assassins here," she said, voice low and dangerous, "... only for the target not to show up?"

Da Hei held his bruised neck, trembling. "I failed," he coughed, voice weak. "In my duty, Miss Lee."

Her expression darkened. She didn’t look pleased at all. "You had one job, one fucking job," she said, voice edged with disappointment. "And you couldn’t even do that. Tsk."

She stood up smoothly and looked toward the shadows. "Beat him up for me," she ordered coldly. "And put him in the car."

He didn’t have a moment to react. Before he could even brace himself, three men in hooded cloaks appeared from the shadows. They moved like ghosts, silent and relentless. Their faces were hidden, but their presence was terrifying, like angels of death in the dark night.

Without a word, they descended on him. Fists and kicks rained down, brutal and unstoppable. His body twisted and jerked under the assault. Pain exploded through his body with every blow. His face contorted in agony, blood seeping from his cuts, his ribs aching with each hit.

He tried to fight back, but the sheer force of their attack overwhelmed him. His knees buckled, and his vision blurred. The last thing he remembered was the darkness rushing in as he lost consciousness.

They didn’t stop. They kept hitting until his body went limp. Then, they roughly shoved him into the back of a car. The doors slammed shut behind him. The engine roared to life, and the vehicle sped off into the night, leaving behind only the silence and the shadows.

Meanwhile, Xiang Yu had arrived at the new meeting point. The place was already crowded with people waiting quietly. When they saw the car approaching, they all looked up, tension flickering in their eyes.

Xiang Yu stepped out of the car, calm and graceful. He pulled on his jacket slowly, his movements smooth and mesmerising. Every step he took seemed like a dance, effortless and precise.

Han Xin moved quickly to his side. He helped Xiang Yu zip up the jacket, then cupped his face gently before leaning in to kiss him softly on the lips. The scene was quiet, almost peaceful, as if the world around them paused in that moment.

The others watched, feeling suddenly awkward. They were caught off guard, as if they had just been fed a spoonful of dog food. They looked away feeling very uncomfortable. These two hard no shame at all and openly displayed their love for all to witness. It was unbearable.

Han Zhan gently covered Little Bai’s eyes with his hands. His voice was soft but firm. "Stop staring at adult business."

Little Bai tilted his head, raising a curious brow. "But I am an adult," he said confidently.

Han Zhan looked down, measuring the boy’s height with his hands, then shook his head with a chuckle. "No, you are not," he said, smiling and his tone teasing.

Little Bai pouted. "I am. Just because I can’t grow a beard doesn’t mean I’m not an adult."

Han Zhan couldn’t help but laugh even harder. His chuckles echoed softly in the quiet. But when he saw Little Bai’s stubborn lips and fierce little eyes, his laughter faded.

He looked at the boy’s determined face, and suddenly, felt like he was being glared at by a small, fierce cub with tiny claws. His smile softened. "Okay, okay," he said gently. "You are an adult. But don’t look. It will blind your eyes."

Little Bai’s face relaxed, a hint of a smile forming. "How am I supposed to learn something if I can’t see it?" he asked, voice small but serious.

Before Han Zhan could answer, Lian and Mei jumped out of nowhere. They grabbed Little Bai, pulling him into their arms. They giggled excitedly, eager to dress him up with pretty jewellery.
