Chapter 210: Peng Xiu ploting for revenge.

Han Zhan chimed in with a mocking smile, "By feeding him poison?"

Both Han Xin and Peng Xiu glared at him, and Han Zhan pursed his lips, lowering his head to continue eating while enjoying the show. Wasn’t it good to just eat melons seeds on the side.

"I don’t need you to thank me," Han Xin said, his tone final. "Just do your job right and don’t do anything unnecessary."

With that, Han Xin turned to leave, and Peng Xiu was filled with a great sense of crisis. She had done extra things for him before, but this was the first time he had criticized her so harshly. He seemed even more distant than before. She wanted to follow him but restrained herself.

When Han Xin came back down, he was dressed in his suit jacket, looking like he was heading out. Han Zhan noticed and took one last bite. "Wait for me," he called out. He turned to Peng Xiu and said, "See you at the office," before walking away with a smile.

Peng Xiu got into her sleek sports car parked outside the villa, her anger rising to her throat. She drove out of the property, the engine’s roar matching the turmoil inside her. Memories of how they first met filled her mind. She had disguised herself as a poor graduate student with no parents, working at a high-end bar to make up her tuition. This bar was frequented by Han Zhan, who sometimes brought Han Xin along. The only reason she had secured a job there was because of her stunning looks and a well-placed bribe to the manager.

Every night, she endured harassment from the clients. On the night she learned that Han Zhan was bringing Han Xin, she deliberately provoked one of the clients who constantly harassed her. She made it seem like she had agreed to be sponsored by him, but when he made a move in the private room, she fought back. The client, not wanting to look bad in front of his friends, tried to suppress her. She ran out and bumped into Han Zhan and Han Xin at the perfect moment. freēwēbηovel.c૦m

She had hoped Han Xin would save her, knowing from their investigation that he hated seeing others bullied. As expected, Han Xin intervened. When she begged him to take her out of the bar, offering to cook or clean his home, she had imagined he would act like one of those domineering mafia bosses, making her sign a contract and becoming his woman. But the play didn’t go as she had planned. Instead, Han Xin told her she could work at his company if she passed the interview for an intern position.

Peng Xiu hadn’t expected that her looks wouldn’t grant her special treatment. She had to work extra hard to get into his close circle over the years. Her love for Han Xin had sprouted during this time. She loved him deeply and just wanted to be his, but everything she tried had failed. She had won Han Xin’s trust but failed to win his heart. Instead of getting closer, it seemed as though Han Xin was icing her out.

Her face darkened as she clutched the steering wheel tightly, the song playing on the stereo matching her dark emotions. The road blurred as she sped down the hill, her mind racing with thoughts of her failed attempts and the growing distance between her and Han Xin. She had done everything she could think of, but nothing seemed to work. The frustration and helplessness gnawed at her, making her grip the wheel even tighter.

Peng Xiu suddenly took a sharp left at the T-junction, narrowly avoiding a collision with a van. Her heart pounded, but she didn’t slow down. She chose not to go to the office right now. Instead, she drove along the coastal road, her speed well beyond the limit. In a fit of rage, she punched the steering wheel several times, screaming to vent her frustration.

The lights of a police car flickered in her rearview mirror, followed by the wail of the siren, signalling her to pull over. Peng Xiu swore under her breath but complied without worry. She knew her captain would handle the ticket.

Even as she pulled over, her mind was consumed with thoughts of Xiang Yu. She couldn’t sleep easy knowing he had flaunted his access to Han Xin’s bathroom and the fact that Han Xin had blow-dried his hair. The memory of his smug face made her blood boil.

She needed to vent her anger, and she would vent it on the one person she hated the most. As she waited for the officer to approach her car, she pulled out her phone and sent a quick message to one of the agents, instructing them to send her Yee Ming’s number. Only then did she feel a semblance of relief, knowing that soon she will have her revenge.

The officer tapped on her window, and she rolled it down, forcing a polite smile. "Good afternoon, officer," she said, her voice calm despite the storm raging inside her. She handed over her license and registration, already planning her next move against Xiang Yu.

Yee Ming lay by the pool, her long legs kissed by the sun, exuding an air of nonchalance like a goddess basking in her glory. One look and it was clear she was the one running the show. Her son, clad in a suit, approached with a phone in hand. "Mum, it’s for you," he said, his voice tinged with apprehension.

She took the phone, her expression darkening. "Who is it?" she demanded. As she listened, a sinister smile spread across her face, making her son jolt. He was afraid of his father, but the truth was that his mother was far more terrifying.

"If this is a trick, I will hunt you down and make you pay," Yee Ming said coldly before hanging up. She stood up with fluid grace, her demeanour shifting from relaxed to deadly serious. "Get ready. We are going out tonight," she instructed her son.

He hesitated for a moment. "What should I bring?"

She smirked a glint of malice in her eyes. "Bring everything," she replied, her stilettos clanking on the marble floor as she walked away.

Her son watched her retreating figure, a mixture of fear and admiration in his eyes. He knew better than to question her further. Yee Ming was a force to be reckoned with, and tonight, she was on a mission.

The humiliation her family had suffered at the hands of Xiang Yu would not go unpunished. She had been biding her time, and now, the moment for revenge had finally arrived.
