Chapter 191: Her Tease

Lilia’s lips curled into a smile as she pulled him into a hug, then whispered softly into his ear,

"Oh honey, but we’re not done cooking yet. The reward will come after the cooking... so let’s see if you’ll still be good until then."

Zethan’s jaw tensed slightly as he tried his best to control the desires flashing in his eyes, unable to believe this side of his wife.

She pulled away gently and pressed a soft kiss to his jaw—the same one that moved, igniting more fire inside him, making the atmosphere even more charged. They exchanged glances as Lilia softly bit her lip. Zethan’s head gently fell to her shoulder, his hands—which were around her waist—squeezing gently.

As he tried to calm himself, he heard her soft giggle, and he knew she was enjoying every inch of it.

Zethan slowly leaned in and spoke in a low, teasing voice,

"Oh, sweetheart... you really want to punish me, huh? Tell me this is one of the punishments."

Lilia simply grinned in response, her eyes dancing with mischief.

She smirked and added,

"Let’s see... why don’t you wait to find out? We wouldn’t want to spoil the fun, would we?

Zethan’s eyes widened slightly as he watched her. Lilia placed her hands on his shoulders to stand, and he held her waist to help guide down.

She walked toward the pot and opened it.

Brrrer, brrrer—

The bubbling sound echoed through the kitchen as Lilia turned to Zethan, speaking softly,

"Please bring out the shifter so I can drain the macaroni," she said.

Zethan nodded and turned to the kitchen cupboard, retrieving it. She took it from him and placed it on the counter.

Lilia slipped on the gloves, then grabbed the hot pot and poured it carefully into the shifter.

Her voice came out soft but sure,

"You just bring the ingredients—I’ll handle the rest."

Zethan simply nodded as she began calling ingredients and he handed them to her.

She didn’t use all the ingredients at once and paused before saying,

"Carrots."

Zethan did as she asked. She called another.

They were almost done.

Zethan brought over some onions.

"Onions," she murmured again.

Zethan followed her rhythm exactly. She couldn’t help but wonder—was he really this helpful and obedient just for the sake of a reward?

It almost didn’t make sense... but the glint in her eyes said otherwise.

She was enjoying this deeply—who would have thought a day would come when Zethan would be this obedient?

Lilia brought out a pan as the macaroni was already done. She moved toward the fridge, took out two large pieces of chicken, and began frying them.

She focused on the sizzling sound until she suddenly felt Zethan behind her, his hands gently settling on her shoulders.

Her body stilled as her heart stuttered.

"Z... Zethan," she said cautiously as she managed to call his name.

"Mn," he hummed in response.

Lilia managed to speak, "It seems you don’t want your reward."

He replied in a quiet, innocent tone,

"What? I’m just holding your shoulders. You wouldn’t say that’s considered bad... would you?"

Lilia couldn’t believe this man.

He knew exactly what he was doing, and the fact that he had made it so...

Oh heavens, save her from this irresistible husband of hers.

She softly placed the chicken on the plate as they were done.

With a satisfied smile, she moved swiftly, her voice light as she said,

"Let’s arrange the plates and spoons."

Zethan nodded, and just like during their honeymoon, they arranged everything the same way—each movement deliberate, familiar, and warm.

Lilia couldn’t help but smile warmly.

This week had been more than she asked for—a peaceful home, a loving husband, and calm life. Not to mention, everything felt like she was in a sweet dream.

Lilia brought out the plates while Zethan carefully placed the cutlery on top. Then he opened the fridge and took out a bottle of grape juice. She took a sip, savoring it, before retrieving two glass cups. She rinsed and dried them, placing them beside the meal she had lovingly prepared.

Next, she ladled the macaroni into a serving bowl and set it gently on the table.

Everything was ready.

She dished the macaroni onto each plate with graceful ease, and finally, they sat down together—ready to eat.

They ate in comfortable silence until Zethan finally spoke, his voice low and affectionate.

"My wife is a secret chef. Tell me, do you secretly cook often?.

Lilia shrugged lightly, a small smile playing on her lips.

"I love cooking... but I don’t know. Sometimes I imagine having my own restaurant where I could cook and teach people about my food."

Zethan looked at her with playful seriousness.

"Of course I’ll make you a big, beautiful restaurant," he said. "But I’ll only pay you after I’ve eaten your food—because I can’t risk anyone loving my wife’s cooking as much as I do."

He winked.

Lilia giggled softly, her cheeks tinged with a rosy glow.

She quietly leaned in close, her voice soft and teasing.

"Are you being so obedient just because I said you’d get a reward?"

Zethan chuckled and nodded.

"Of course. Why else would I act like such a good boy? If not—"

He stopped himself mid-sentence, pressing his lips shut.

Lilia caught the slip and grinned wider, knowing whatever he was about to say would’ve ruined the "good boy" image he had carefully crafted just to get his reward.

"Oh, I see," she said with a smirk.

Zethan raised an eyebrow, watching her closely.

"What if I said I’d postpone your reward till tomorrow?"

He stared at her for a moment, then replied in a low, certain voice,

"You won’t do it."

Zethan spoke slowly as Lilia giggled more. He just watched her in disbelief—this woman knew exactly how to pull his strings, huh?

She slowly bit into the chicken, then raised her eyes from the chicken to him—he was obviously staring—as she winked softly.

Zethan cleared his throat.

"Behave, Loris."

He spoke in a tight, strained voice, barely holding himself together as Lilia delicately dropped the piece of chicken back onto her plate and slowly chewed the one in her mouth. With a graceful motion, she picked up a napkin and dabbed at her lips before finally shifting her gaze to him.

"I’m actually very well-behaved, my husband," she said quietly, her tone smooth and composed. "In fact, if I’m not mistaken... this is perfect table manners."

Zethan opened his mouth to reply—then closed it again, speechless.

He raked a hand through his hair in frustration, grabbed his glass, and downed the water in one long gulp.

Then he muttered under his breath,

"We know exactly what you’re doing, Loris."

Lilia gave a nonchalant shrug, her eyes twinkling with mischief.

"Oops, I don’t know... enlighten me."

Zethan fell silent again, at a complete loss for words, while Lilia fought back a victorious smile.

Their eyes locked on each other. A smile tugged at his lips as he leaned in and spoke quietly,

"So tell me, my wife... when did you become so, so naughty like this?"

Lilia’s eyes sparkled as she replied in a soft, teasing voice,

"It’s a certain husband of mine—a handsome one, at that—who made me this naughty."

He let out a low chuckle, his voice tight with restraint as he murmured,

"I’ve been such a good boy..."

Then, with a quiet, almost pleading tone, he added,

"And you wouldn’t—wouldn’t tell me you’ve changed your mind, would you?"

Lilia gave a slow shrug once I more as if Unbothered, her expression unreadably calm.

"Would I? Hmm... let’s just see how it goes."

But it was the glint in her eyes—the one she tried so hard to hide—that gave her away. She was holding back a smile and laugh, and he knew it.

This lady was really pushing him to the brink...

And she was loving every single second of it.

Even Lilia was surprised by her own actions. For some reason she couldn’t explain, the urge had just risen within her—and she acted on it.

Only later did she realize what she had stirred.

What seemed innocent at first had left Zethan completely speechless, caught between loving her teasing and struggling to maintain his composure.

He tried so hard to remain calm, but the more she did, the more he cracked. The tension was rising—and she knew it.

Zethan quietly cleared his throat, his voice tight and strained.

"My wife... if you want us to finish this meal, don’t say another word."

Lilia giggled, her eyes dancing with mischief.

"But... what if I want to?" she replied, pouting softly as she pushed her bottom lip out in a playful challenge.

His body stilled, his tanned skin slightly flushed, eyes fixed on her.

And then, her voice dropped just enough to tip him over the edge.

"In fact," she said slowly, "this food isn’t even what I’m hungry for..."

The moment those words left her lips, Zethan’s calm shattered.
