Yujun’s POV
The furious alpha stalks closer with his teeth bared and with his gun now pressing at my temple, I gulp, unable to talk or flee.
How is it that I’m once again at the end of a member of Hwang’s gun for the second time in less than twenty four hours?.
My eyes are on the black gun pressed to my head and my mind on how much damage it can cause if the trigger is pulled.
A deep growl from the alpha rattles me as I gulp in utter fear. I have only been this afraid of my own father in my life, the fear is very obvious that my body shakes next to Yeon.
"Honey" Yeon calls softly and holds my body to his chest like I am a child of his or a pack member, the male Omega’s hold on me is firm as he looks at his husband.
Lord Hwang has a terrifying expression on his face and his eyes are bright red, his alpha showing with so much force that my knees weaken and I fall to the floor. As I fall, Yeon falls with me, keeping his arms around me.
"Honey" he calls again, "Put the gun down, Yujun was here to save me before the attack got out of hand" Yeon says calmly. The Alpha’s eyes flicker from red to their normal brown, as Yeon holds his right hand out while his left hand is wrapped protectively around me.
Lord Hwang lets out a huff and takes his husband’s hand to pull him up and away from me. Quietly, I watch as Lord Hwang jealously wraps his arms around Yeon and nose at his neck with an unsatisfied grunt, "I can’t smell you" he says and Yeon sighs.
"I’m safe, alpha" the omega says gently and peels off a little part of his scent patch, filling the sterile hallway with the peaceful and soft smell of fresh rain on leaves. The scent is richly calming that even I am put at ease, forgetting that I am at a point of danger.
With the Alpha’s attention off me, I stand up and dust my clothes, ready to sneak back out the same way I snuck in.
"Don’t you dare take another step" lord Hwang’s low but powerful voice gets to me and I freeze in my tracks, "Honey" I hear Yeon call his husband, and I turn around to look at him.
Lord Hwang looks at his husband in a questioning manner, "I still can’t let him go, he has seen you" lord Hwang says with his cold eyes on me, I look from Yeon to Lord Hwang in confusion, begging Yeon with my eyes.
"Fine, but we are not hurting him honey" Yeon says and his husband narrowed his eyes at me, "Why are you defending him so much?" lord Hwang asks sceptically and Yeon looks at me, "he has saved your life twice now" Yeon says.
I feel awkward standing between the couple, one of them looking at me with soft eyes and the other glaring at me.
"How do you mean?" lord Hwang asks, "Jaehyun was attacked and Yujun was the one who brought him home" Yeon explains, "I see" lord Hwang hums and he nods at me, "thank you for ensuring my family’s safety" the alpha says and I blink in surprise.
This is the second time an alpha has apologized to me, this is an act that is unheard of in our community and in our world as mafias. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
What is the Hwang family really like?
"I hid the children in the room, please lets check them first" Yeon says and they immediately get to work, I step aside and watch in awe as Yeon completely takes off his scent patch and approaches the room.
The door was opened and every child is attended to with the tenderness of a pack omega, while releasing a calming pheromone.
The omega, didn’t work alone, lord Hwang is glued to his side and helping by asking the children questions to ease their minds, I feel out of place standing in a corner and watching.
It feels sad to watch how they talk with each other like equals, how in love they act with each other, while my parents are the opposite. I envy Jaehyun for being the one to experience this amount of love.
My phone buzzes and I see Jaehyun’s ID on my screen. Expectantly, I accept the call and press the phone to my ear, only for the eagerness to die out when I hear some one else’s voice.
"Hello?" the voice that accepted the call says and I frown in recognition, it was the man that had been at Jaehyun’s place this morning. "hello?" he says again, this time around with a growl.
"I don’t know who you are or what your deal with Jaehyun is, but I will warn you to watch your back, because when I find you..." he says and I stay quiet, "keep in mind, I will end you" he says and ends the call.
"What sort of call is this? I frown at my phone screen.
"Jaehyun is at the Hwangyeon clinic for poisoning" I hear lord Hwang say and my ear perks up.
’They are talking about Jaehyun’ my Omega says.
Yeon gasps follows his husband’s words, "but how? I treated him myself last night" he says in worry, "they cant figure..." lord Hwang was saying when I rush over to them.
"Silver wolfsbane" I say loudly and they both turn to look at me, "what?" Yeon asks.
"It is silver wolfsbane, if nothing is done..." I say and anxiety builds up in my chest from the thought of Jaehyun.
why is Jaehyun always making me worry like this?.
"Lets go right now" yeon says, "we cant take an enemy to our fortress" lord Hwang refused, "my son needs him" Yeon says like he refuses to accommodate a rejection.
"Your son needs him but honey, we need to ask" lord Hwang says and looks at me angrily, "Choi how did you know it was silver wolfsbane if you didn’t have anything to do with it?" He asks and my face drains of color.
