Yujun’s POV

The tears of relief didn’t stop even through the night.

I open my bag to pick out the hoodie from Jaehyun and the onesie from my pup.

The fabrics are not enough, but I make a small nest like the ones I’ve seen Yunah do, my nest is pitiful and small, but I lay in it and it feels like my victory is complete even though the tears won’t stop streaming.

I feel free and the same time the guilt of ruining my family chains me, a knock on my door to wake me up comes at seven, two polite raps and a pause.

"Choi Yujun-ssi, it’s time to go" the person calls from outside and I pick up my bag, stuffing the hoodie and onesie into it.

"Are you ready?" he asks politely and I nod in agreement, holding the bag to my chest to keep my piece of home as close to me as possible, I had prepared for this.

The journey back home feels almost magical and like something out of fantasy book, I’m not hiding my face from public recognition, I’m not shying away from people.

People that are clueless of the mafia world walk past me with their heads down, while some pause to admire me, and some others just smile in friendly greetings, two children even dared to touch me.

I feel like Yujun...just Yujun.

The ability to look up, not feeling like a curse that should keep his shoulders squared for approval is amazing, is this how Jaehyun feels like?

Did I just establish a life where I can hold my Haeri’s hands and walk down the road comfortably? Did I just make a life for me and my pup?

’A life for every other omega’ my omega brags and I chuckle, earning a look from my plane seat partner, "sorry" I say with a shy giggle and the girl rolls her eyes at me playfully.

Once we arrive, I find the car from Hwangyeon waiting for me, it’s the kind clan doctor that is here to pick me up in a black sedan.

As I approach, the man gives me a rehearsed disapproving look that makes me smile brightly at him.

This is what family is...isn’t it?

"Hurry, you will give everyone a sunburn if you walk any slower, you slug" the doctor says with a gruff look, hiding his smile as he addresses me.

"Sunburn? I’m...hot?" I joke, there are still tears in my eyes but smile on my face is bigger, why am I so happy?

"Ah, really, this generation" the old man shakes his head at me, and I stick my tongue at him, "get in the car, I need to get Jaehyun far from you, you are becoming like that silly child" he says and opens the door for me.

"Thank you, Ahjussi" I whisper as I enter the car, smiling at his false displeased face.

The man gets in and before he starts the car, he points at the brown paper sitting on the dashboard with his thumb, "for you" he says and my eyes widen.

"What is it?" I ask with soft wonder, wiping off the tear from my face before picking it out, "well open it, it is in front of you isn’t it" he says and rolls his eyes at the same time.

I eagerly open the bag, and it is food, it’s hot Ramyeon.

"Ahjussi" I whisper, "my son was a male omega, an alpha framed him for carelessness and the council fined him...he committed suicide out of shame" he says and looks at me with fatherly eyes.

"That was before I met the Hwangs and met my new son Yeon...don’t tell him that" the old man says and laughs under his breath, "I know the councils never feeds their guests, tch" he click his tongue.

"What?" he asks when I keep looking at him with the food in my hand.

"Aigoo, don’t look at me like that, it has been almost thirty years and I’m fine, eat, eat...you will need your strength, lord Yujun" he says and I give him a hug as best as I can and he laughs again, this time more kindly.

"You are shining Yujun, keep shining, you are changing lives" he says softly and I nod, my head pressed against his white head and he pats my shoulder.

"Now take your hands off me" he says, breaking the warmth and making me shake my head at him.

"Thank you, I’m sure you son would be proud to have father like you" I say and he snorts playfully, "Haewon, that ungrateful boy" he says.

The conversation dies out as he starts to drive, he puts on the radio and starts to play Seventeen’s Our Dawn Is Hotter Than Day, the song makes me melt into the seat and fall asleep.

I wake up in the blue waters with the moon goddess swimming around me, her movements are slow and graceful as she moves, she gives me a warm hug in the water and it feels like receiving life again.

’Good job, child, you did well’ she says and I stare at her in awe.

’Will everything be okay now?’ I ask quietly, ’hmm’ is her first response before she gives a proper one.

’Everything will be as okay as you want it to be, it’s all in your hands son’ she says and pats my head, ’you have grown so well, haven’t you?’ she asks and the water changes to a green field.

’And my family?’ I ask, asking about the Hwangs, my true family, Hwang Jaehyun, Hwang Yeon, Lord Hwang, Hwang Yunah and Hwang Haeri.

’It gets better pup’ she says.

"Aigoo, you must be really exhausted, you slept all through" the nice doctor says as I blink my eyes open.

"Did you sleep well?" he asks and I nod, "I had a good dream" I whisper and stretch my body as far as the car space will allow.

"That’s good, come on out, everyone is waiting for you" the doctor says and gets out of the car.

I rub at my eyes a few times before getting down, immediately the whole place is full of cheers and celebrations, I stare with wonder as members of the pack line up with the most cheerful looks on their face.

"Yujun-ssi! Yujun-ssi! Yujun-ssi!" they chant my name and my breath is held, a strange feeling washes over me as some of the children rushes over to hug me, wrapping their arms around my waist.

"Yujun hyung is so cool!" one of the boys says, "I want to be like Yujun hyung" another boy says and a little girl fights to hug me the longest.

I’m in awe at the love I’m being shown, even the older pack members are smiling at me, and I give a shy little wave, moving forward to find my mate.

I feel his alpha tug at me through our bond and I turn around, finding him right there, he has that stupid smile I love on his face and Haeri in his arms.

I sniffle and run to them.

"Hey" Jaehyun greets and presses his forehead to mine, holding Haeri gently, my pup even makes a happy baby noise at my arrival and it makes everything worth it.

"I’m home now" I say happy, hugging the both of them without hurting my Haeri, the little girl grabs my cloth and clenches her fist around it.

"Mommy is here" I whisper.

"Oppa!" Yunah’s loud scream from behind makes me turn my head, my little sister is dressed in a pretty pink dress as she runs to me.

"Welcome back, I missed you so much" she says as she hugs me too and Gawon stands behind us, watching carefully as her mate interacts with me.

"Come here you" I stretch my arm and she comes to my side, letting me hug her the same way I was hugging my sister.

"I’m sorry I was rude to you" she says to me, keeping her voice small and soft, "it’s okay, it’s because you love my Yuyu" I whisper to her and she pulls away.

"Thank you for looking after all every time you did, you’re the best big brother she could ever have" Gawon says and I ruffle her hair.

"Can I have my mate back now?" Jaehyun says and pulls me to his side, he has handed Haeri to Yunah and can now hug me fully, nuzzling his nose into the side of my neck.

"You can have your mate, after I’m done" Yeon mom’s voice comes from the crowd and Jaehyun groans, "ah, seriously" he mutters, and the pack members all laugh at their playfulness.

"Mom" I call Yeon fondly as he comes to me, "we have a lot to talk about, but first..." he says and nudged his chin at Jaehyun.

The alpha pulls a ring out of his pocket and slowly goes down to his knee in front of everyone.

"Choi Yujun, I once asked you to use me like a drug, now I’m asking...please will you marry me?" he says and I don’t think twice.

"Yes, yes Jaehyun, yes" I respond and the entire clan bursts into even louder cheers.
