Jaehyun’s POV
Yunah jumps off the bed and rushes to the door, slightly swaying from just waking up.
"W-who is there?" she asks, holding the door shut with her body and I go to her closet, she gives me a nod, approving my hiding there.
"It’s me" a woman’s voice says, and I enter into the closet, leaving the door slightly open to keep watch.
"Mom" she says and opens the door for the woman.
The wife of Choi Sanwoo walks in with a frown on her face, "you slept for too long, your father is getting upset" the woman says and Yunah steps back.
"Why?" Yunah asks in a small whisper and the woman huffs before going to the window, "I told you to stop leaving your window open" she says and shuts it.
"It’s my room, I’ll do what I want" Yunah says and her mother folds her arms.
"You are lucky you were born with pretty hair, do you know how hard I had to work?" her mother says and Yunah mimics her posture, folding her arms across her chest and glaring.
"Again with how hard you work" she says with the tone of someone that has heard that over and over.
"You’re too spoiled" the woman makes a punching motion towards Yunah and my alpha growls protectively.
"What was that sound?" her mother’s head snaps towards the closet where I am hidden. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
"Mom, are you drunk again?" Yunah asks, moving quickly to block the closet.
"How dare you accuse me of drinking, if you continue like this, no man will come for you" the older woman says and I frown.
What sort of mother is this? She hasn’t even asked Yunah about the mating bond pains.
"Mom what do you want now?" Yunah asks with a sassy tone.
"Yujun has done it again! That boy" her mother says and places her hand on her chest.
"Done what?" Yunah asks in genuine confusion and her mother hisses, "your idiot brother is pregnant" she says.
Yunah doesn’t give a response but her scent spikes, fear? Did she know?
"He’s pregnant?" Yunah asks with a whisper, trying to act surprised but failing.
"Your older sister, Yubin, is angry, do you know how much effort she puts into making sure this family doesn’t collapse?" her mother says.
"My Oppa does even more" Yunah says quietly.
"By embarrassing us all the time!" the mother says.
’Let’s take her out’ my alpha proposes calmly, and I shut my eyes, taking a deep breath through my nose.
I can’t do that. I want to, but not in front of Yunah.
This woman doesn’t deserve to have children as precious as Yujun and Yunah.
"What do I do? My new designers are going to be taken away if the Kangs find out and return Jaehyun" the selfish woman says, and I bite the insides of my cheek.
Snapping her neck will be so satisfying...should I?
"Mom" Yunah calls softly.
"This is a serious problem" the woman says and fans her perfectly made-up face with her hand.
"Mom, have you even spoken to your son since he left here? Do you know how he’s doing?" Yunah asks and the woman pauses.
"What sort of question is that?" she asks, obviously frustrated, "you haven’t" Yunah answers for her.
"Anyways, that’s why your father is here, he wants you to contact him, he knows he’ll respond if it’s you" the woman says and I shake my head.
Is this a family?
"Why does he want Oppa?" Yunah asks smartly.
"Why else? Did this morning do something to your brain or what?" her mother asks and Yunah’s posture changes.
"This morning? What do you mean by that?" she asks.
"These questions, they are getting annoying, just contact your brother" the woman says and waves her hand and goes to the door.
"Why does father want Oppa here?" Yunah asks and holds her mother’s hand to stop her from opening the door.
"He wants to get rid of it" the mother says and Yunah drops her hand.
"What?" she asks and her mother looks at her like she’s crazy for looking surprised, "what? If we don’t move fast, our clan’s name can be embarrassed even worse".
"Mom! Have you forgotten they made him overdose on illegal birth control pills?" Yunah asks with pain in her voice.
My alpha stays calm, I feel myself lose all ability to be angry.
How much has Yujun suffered with them and for them?
"They were trying to help him!" her mother says.
I drop my head as a drop of blood hits the floor of the closet, from my lip, I have bitten into it too hard.
’I won’t harm her’ I say to myself.
’I won’t-’
"Help?" Yunah asks with a broken sob, "now why are you crying? Don’t you know how embarrassing it is? How can he carry a baby when he should be-"
"MOM GET OUT" Yunah screams with so much pain.
"How dare-"
"I SAID GET OUT!" she screams and breaks into sobs.
My alpha whines inside me and I am tempted to open the door and wrap her in my arms.
"I hate you so much I want to die" Yunah says crying and the woman just stands there, watching with wide eyes.
"Child..." she says softly, the look on her face almost resembles regret, she moves forward to touch Yunah but the girl steps away with her head bowed.
"Don’t touch me, I am not your child...please...just go" she says with her arms wrapped around herself.
Her vanilla smell is heavy with bitter sadness, a different pain, maybe even as painful as the bond break.
Her mother looks at her once before stepping out of the room.
The moment the door shuts, I rush out of the closet to catch Yunah before her body drops to the floor.
Holding her, I let our bodies slowly settle on the floor, cradling her gently to myself.
"Baby" I call and she hides her face in my neck.
"Jaehyun Oppa...I want to die" she sobs and I growl deeply in my chest.
"Don’t say that" I say softly, forcing down the rage I am feeling at the moment.
"Save me" she cries.
"I will, I swear I will...I’m taking you away right now" I say and she nods.
"Anywhere you want, I’ll take you there" I say and she whispers her answer.
An answer that breaks my heart.
