Urban Super Soldier King-Chapter 917: The Host Finally Appears
Chapter 917: Chapter 917: The Host Finally Appears
Xiang Yu held the knife in his hand, his eyes filled with madness, pointing the blade at the people around him as he laughed wildly: "Is your leader, Lin Chong, really such a pathetic character?"
Although the people surrounding him had the advantage in numbers, they were all deeply moved by Xiang Yu’s unyielding spirit.
If this kid doesn’t die here today, he’s bound to achieve great things in the future.
Xiang Yu was already covered in blood, and judging by his swaying body, it was evident he had reached his limit.
After all, Xiang Yu was human, not a god. No matter how formidable he was, he had moments of exhaustion. Now, Xiang Yu was a spent force.
Standing on the second floor, Zhuge Xiaoming had naturally noticed this. He didn’t call for anyone to rush in and finish Xiang Yu off but instead stood there casually, watching.
He wanted to see Xiang Yu’s spirit crumble bit by bit. At this moment, Xiang Yu’s eyes were bloodshot, showing signs of losing his sanity.
The entire situation was under his control, so he didn’t object to Lin Chong’s arrival.
After all, Lin Chong was the boss. He wanted the boss to savor the thrill of victory.
Using the knife for support, Xiang Yu struggled to stand upright. Though he felt utterly drained earlier, for some inexplicable reason, it seemed like his body still contained an endless reservoir of strength.
That sensation was peculiar, coming and going intermittently. It had happened many times—whenever Xiang Yu concentrated his energy to throw a punch, the force behind it was astonishingly strong.
It felt as though a deep reservoir of potential resided within his body.
Even though Xiang Yu was using the knife to prop himself up, he could sense his stamina recovering rapidly. In just a few more minutes, he might be back to his peak state.
Xiang Yu found this feature of his body strange. Ever since practicing the martial arts taught by the old man, his physical condition had been unusual.
But as a staunch atheist, Xiang Yu attributed it solely to his robust constitution and didn’t give it much thought.
While Xiang Yu’s body recovered quickly, he continued to feign exhaustion. Using the knife as support, he staggered forward a couple of steps before raising his head to look at Zhuge Xiaoming: "Since your boss can’t be bothered to come, why don’t you step forward and meet your end?"
Zhuge Xiaoming’s eyes were full of disdain; in his view, Xiang Yu was just making a desperate last stand. In his current state, he probably couldn’t even fight off a child.
"Kid, you’re at death’s door and still mouthing off. Since you’re so eager to die, I’ll grant your wish," Zhuge Xiaoming said, descending from the second floor.
As Wolf Eye’s strategist, he rarely took action himself. He believed that those engaged in upfront brawls were all simple-minded brutes—he relied on intellect to prevail.
Now, however, Xiang Yu’s provocative words had goaded him into walking down.
He could tell Xiang Yu was critically injured. Even if no one fought him, it wouldn’t be long before he collapsed.
As Zhuge Xiaoming reached the ground floor, several cars came speeding toward them from the distance.
Seeing the approaching vehicles, Zhuge Xiaoming’s expression immediately warmed as he stepped forward to greet them.
"Boss, you’re here," Zhuge Xiaoming said.
Standing in front of him was none other than Wolf Eye’s leader, Lin Chong. The man was tall, sporting a single eye, and had an intimidating air.
"Brother Yu, that’s Lin Chong," Zhang Dongxu whispered from where he was sprawled.
Xiang Yu simply nodded without speaking. He had already spotted Zhang Dongxu earlier—this kid was lying there pretending to be hurt but was clearly fine.
Lin Chong exchanged a few words with Zhuge Xiaoming before walking over with a faint smile.
Zhuge Xiaoming followed behind Lin Chong with a casual smirk. "Didn’t you want to see our boss? Well, here he is now."
At this moment, Xiang Yu was the only one standing on his side. He supported himself with a long knife, then raised his head to look at Lin Chong.
"You’re Lin Chong?" Xiang Yu’s eyes showed no trace of fear—only a commanding air of dominance.
Lin Chong, now firmly in control of the situation, was displeased with Xiang Yu’s defiance.
"Xiang Yu, we can count ourselves old acquaintances. I’ve known you since the day you took in that walking disaster," Lin Chong said.
Xiang Yu chuckled, "Oh really? Funny, I only met you today. I’d always heard Lin Chong was suave and sophisticated, but seeing you now, you’re rather repulsive."
Instead of anger, Lin Chong burst into laughter, throwing his head back before looking at Xiang Yu. "People always said Xiang Yu speaks his mind, untethered by worldly conventions. Seeing you today, I find that’s true."
"Don’t try to act cultured. We’re all from the streets, so stop pretending to be a scholar. I brought Zhang Dongxu here for you, and your welcome’s been far from friendly," Xiang Yu retorted, then walked over and pulled Zhang Dongxu to his feet.
"What did you say? You really came to deliver him to me?" A trace of doubt flickered in Lin Chong’s eyes.
After all, Xiang Yu had mentioned he came to hand over Zhang Dongxu, but perhaps Lin Chong was just being overly cautious.
Zhuge Xiaoming quickly warned, "Boss, don’t fall for his tricks. He thinks he’s strong enough to assassinate you but realized we were ready for him and is now trying to retreat unharmed."
Lin Chong’s gaze turned sharp and cold again as he laughed mirthlessly at Xiang Yu. "Xiang Yu, let’s be honest—you have to die here today. I used to admire your talent, but you’re too dangerous. Keeping you alive would be disastrous."
Zhang Dongxu then broke free from Xiang Yu’s grip, sneering, "Stop with the righteous facade, Lin Chong. Spare us the act. You claim to value talent, yet you killed Zhang Tongshan. Don’t pretend to be a sobbing cat holding a funeral for a mouse."
Back when Zhang Dongxu was with Wolf Eye, Lin Chong had been like a god to him—an unattainable figure.
But now, standing before Lin Chong again, he saw the man as nothing but a hypocrite—a pure sham. Compared to Lin Chong, Xiang Yu felt more genuine.
Though he wasn’t sure if Xiang Yu truly intended to hand him over.
"You want to kill me?" Xiang Yu scoffed.
Lin Chong ignored Zhang Dongxu; to him, the man was insignificant.
"That’s right. You’re far too dangerous. If I don’t eliminate you, I’ll never sleep soundly," Lin Chong said.
Having spoken, Lin Chong took a knife from one of the men beside him, gripping it firmly, seemingly intent on facing Xiang Yu one-on-one.
Zhang Dongxu sneered in disdain, "You call yourself Wolf Eye’s leader? Can’t you see Brother Yu is already completely exhausted? What’s the meaning of this?"
Zhuge Xiaoming frowned and interjected, "Boss, we should proceed cautiously. Better to end this directly—this man is too dangerous."
After witnessing Xiang Yu’s ferocity firsthand, Zhuge Xiaoming couldn’t help but think of him as a War God.
Lin Chong waved his hand dismissively, smiling confidently. "No need. Zhang Dongxu betrayed us. Today, I’ll personally execute him."
The crowd fell silent: "..."
With wide eyes and full of frustration, Zhang Dongxu shouted, "Are you kidding me? You want to fight me?"
