Chapter 836: Chapter 836: The Morning Exercise Old Man Who Can Pretend

Xiao Xuan stood at the center of the basketball court, feeling a bit frustrated, because he didn’t know how to play basketball at all. If it were soccer, he might at least know a little.

He also knew that Tie Zhuzi was even worse at it, yet somehow he came charging out so aggressively. Who knows how they’re going to wrap this up?

"Bro, can you play?" Xiao Xuan turned to Xiang Yu and asked.

"Just a little," Xiang Yu replied calmly.

Seeing Xiang Yu’s composed expression, Xiao Xuan felt even less confident. But now that they were already out here, there was no choice but to grit his teeth and face it.

Looking over at the three students from the sports department, each of them was tall, muscular, and well-coordinated. They clearly spent a lot of time training.

The three of them did look a bit uneasy when they saw Tie Zhuzi, though. After all, Tie Zhuzi’s physique was intimidating enough to make him seem formidable.

The players took their positions. At the sound of the whistle, the game began. Tie Zhuzi got the ball and passed it to Xiang Yu right away.

Xiao Xuan had already said that he was clueless about basketball. Now the two of them could only hope Xiang Yu would pull off some kind of miracle.

Xiang Yu casually dribbled the basketball. He’d touched a ball a few times back when he was in the army, but only just enough to get the hang of it—definitely no expert.

He dribbled a couple of times, then tossed the ball directly toward the backboard. Everyone around was stunned. What was going on? Could this guy actually be a basketball prodigy, sinking shots from mid-court?

The ball, carrying an almost storm-like momentum, slammed into the backboard with a thunderous bang.

The three sports students were dumbfounded. Was this even basketball? This was more like throwing grenades.

One of them jumped and grabbed the ball. He stepped outside the three-point line, then turned and took three strides forward, aiming for a flashy dunk.

Tie Zhuzi noticed the situation and rushed over, ramming straight into the guy. Caught off guard, the student was knocked two meters away and fell to the floor.

"What’s your problem?!" The sports student lost his cool, storming over intending to hit Tie Zhuzi, but the onlookers managed to pull them apart and de-escalate things.

The game resumed, but the other team kept control of the ball almost the entire time. Despite their quick movements, Xiang Yu and his crew couldn’t get possession.

However, the other team couldn’t score either, thanks to Tie Zhuzi standing guard under the hoop. None of them dared to get too close.

The crowd around them burst out into waves of laughter. They’d never seen basketball played like this before—it was basically rugby.

But they were thoroughly enjoying themselves. Finally, someone was putting the sports students in their place.

After half an hour, the three sports department guys finally threw in the towel. They realized that Xiang Yu’s group didn’t actually know how to play basketball—they were just a trio of scoundrels.

Not only did they not know how to shoot, they kept hitting people. But since there was no referee and the audience was squarely on their side, the three sports students gave up in frustration and conceded.

On their way back from campus, Tie Zhuzi was swaggering, convinced he was now a basketball master. Even the top athletes from the sports department had lost to them. Xiao Xuan, on the other hand, was flushed with embarrassment and tried to steer clear of the topic.

Two days later, early in the morning, Wang Ze rushed to the hotel.

For the past few days, Xiang Yu and his group hadn’t returned to the Wolong Villa and had been staying in the hotel instead.

When Wang Ze couldn’t find Xiang Yu, he went straight to Tie Zhuzi’s room and dragged him out of bed.

"What the hell are you doing this early in the morning?" Tie Zhuzi grumbled irritably.

"What do you mean early morning? It’s already 8:30. Get up!" Wang Ze retorted with exasperation.

"What’s going on? Let me sleep a bit longer." Tie Zhuzi muttered lazily.

"Big Bro isn’t in his room," Wang Ze said anxiously. He’d heard about how Xiang Yu got hurt last time—sneaking out on his own and getting ambushed.

He was worried Xiang Yu might sneak off alone again.

"He went to the campus to run." Tie Zhuzi finally sat up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. Then, with a serious expression, he looked at Wang Ze and said, "I’m warning you, don’t disturb Brother Yu right now. He needs peace and quiet. Whatever you’re dealing with, handle it yourself."

Wang Ze, feeling stifled, looked at Tie Zhuzi and asked, "Says who?"

"Of course it’s Brother Yu’s orders. From now on, he might stop getting involved in matters from the streets. You’re the boss now." Tie Zhuzi patted Wang Ze’s shoulder and lay back down, trying to go back to sleep.

Not ready to let it go, Wang Ze pulled him back up and said desperately, "That’s not going to work. The only reason I’m standing here is because of Brother Yu. Wherever he goes, I’ll follow. If he quits, I’ll leave too."

Wang Ze’s eyes were unwavering with determination. He wasn’t in this for power or status—he was doing it to follow Xiang Yu.

Hearing this, Tie Zhuzi punched him lightly in the chest, then said, "You idiot. I was just saying it’s a possibility. Brother Yu might bounce back once he’s in a good mood. If you’re not here holding things down, who should he hand all this over to?"

Wang Ze thought for a bit, then nodded. "I’ll wait for Brother Yu. If he truly plans to leave and never come back, I’ll follow him and leave too."

After saying that, Wang Ze turned and walked out.

Tie Zhuzi glared after him with wide eyes and cursed, "You stubborn mule! Where do you think you’re going..."

Meanwhile, Xiang Yu wasn’t interested in overthinking anything. His days passed like those of an ordinary person’s—waking up early to jog at the university, then eating, attending classes, and thoroughly enjoying this simple life.

Tie Zhuzi and Xiao Xuan understood his intentions and kept all troubles at bay.

One morning, after a long jog around the campus, Xiang Yu was about to leave through the school gate when he saw an old man practicing Tai Chi in an open area near the gatekeeper’s post.

The old man’s Tai Chi movements were slow but seamless, blending harmoniously with his surroundings as if he were part of the scenery.

Xiang Yu couldn’t resist walking over and standing there to watch.

The old man was completely bald, sporting a white beard and wearing a loose-fitting white outfit.

The old man continued practicing as though he hadn’t even noticed Xiang Yu watching him. Only when he finished the last move did he open his eyes and turn to look at Xiang Yu.

When he saw Xiang Yu, he appeared a bit surprised but then said, "Young man, you’re not a student here, are you?"

"How can you tell?"

"I can just tell."

"Is it because I look old?" Xiang Yu teased, touching his face.

The old man chuckled and shook his head. "I saw it in your eyes."

"Crow’s feet, maybe?" Xiang Yu joked with a laugh.

Knowing Xiang Yu was just messing around, the old man smiled and said, "Kid, I see great potential in your bone structure. Why not become my disciple? I’ll teach you Tai Chi."

Hearing this, Xiang Yu burst out laughing and replied, "Old man, I was just curious to watch because you were moving so slowly. I didn’t expect you to start spinning tales on me."

"You punk. Don’t you know to respect your elders? I’m your senior, after all. Couldn’t you speak a bit more politely?" The old man remarked indignantly.

"Come on, keep practicing. I’m not playing along," Xiang Yu said, turning to leave.

"Hold on," the old man called out...
