Urban Super Soldier King-Chapter 832: One More Crazy Than the Last
Chapter 832: Chapter 832: One More Crazy Than the Last
"Make way, make way..." At the end of the hallway, Liu Yuhang was rushing over with four blood bags in his hands.
His speed was probably not much slower than a world sprinting champion. Seeing Liu Yuhang arrive, Xiao Xuan finally stood up and yelled, "Hurry up, bro, I can’t hold on anymore!"
Wu Yue looked at the man in astonishment. He didn’t know Liu Yuhang, but seeing how anxious everyone was, he could guess that this had to be one of Xiang Yu’s brothers.
Just as Liu Yuhang was reaching the surgery room doors, the elder doctor came out again from inside.
The time had almost run out. Even with blood now, it would be nearly impossible to save him.
Liu Yuhang didn’t care how much blood he was carrying. He barged straight into the operating room and began working by himself.
Xiao Xuan and Tie Zhuzi were anxious but didn’t go in. They knew they could be carrying bacteria on them, which could easily cause an infection.
The elder doctor and the group of physicians standing outside didn’t stop him. In their eyes, everything now was futile, a lost cause.
Some doctors even slumped against the wall and dozed off right there. It was already 8 a.m.; the harrowing night of relentless work had left them utterly exhausted.
"Please accept your condolences." The old man spoke with visible sadness.
"What did you just say? Say that again, and I’ll damn well neuter you!" Tie Zhuzi grabbed the old man viciously.
Wu Yue walked over and slapped Tie Zhuzi hard on the head. It was clear the elder doctor had done all he could.
Tie Zhuzi realized his outburst and stood to the side, bowing his head in shame.
The elder doctor sighed deeply and didn’t say more. He had been a doctor his whole life and had seen countless partings of life and death, but this was the first time he had encountered one like this.
Though he didn’t know who was lying on the operating table, he could tell that these people shared a strong bond.
Inside the operating room, Liu Yuhang was working tirelessly alone. He first administered a blood transfusion to Xiang Yu and then applied a special medication of his own design to Xiang Yu’s wounds.
Although Xiang Yu’s vital signs were faint, there was still a shred of possibility. The surgery continued for about five hours more, and it was not until then that Liu Yuhang, drenched in sweat, emerged.
It was now 1 p.m., and all the other doctors had left since they no longer held any hope.
Xiao Xuan and the others were utterly drained, both physically and mentally. Their bodies were running on empty after the intense tension.
"The surgery was successful. Whether he survives the brink of death depends on Brother Yu himself now." Liu Yuhang’s first words upon coming out were.
Hearing these words, Tie Zhuzi and Xiao Xuan both relaxed at last. This meant that Xiang Yu had gotten past the critical phase—these two knew him best and understood just how tenacious his life force was.
"Could somebody please get me a piece of clothing first?" Liu Yuhang asked, shivering where he stood.
Last night, Wang Ze had shaken him awake from a deep sleep, dragging him from a southern city to this northeastern one. The drastic temperature difference was unbearable.
He had operated in this state for five hours without time to grab any proper clothing. Now that the surgery was over, the cold hit him at last.
Wu Yue and Feng Lan quickly shed their outer layers and draped them over Liu Yuhang. They didn’t know his exact identity, but they could tell he was clearly a doctor.
"Can we go in and see him?" Wu Yue asked expectantly.
Liu Yuhang hesitated for a moment before answering, "You’d better wait until Brother Yu’s a bit better before visiting him."
Ignoring his advice, Feng Lan walked straight into the room. Standing by Xiang Yu’s bed, she broke into uncontrollable, pained sobs—a gut-wrenching, piercing kind of cry.
A deep, fresh wound now stretched across Xiang Yu’s chest, crudely sewn with black thread, giving it an eerie appearance.
There had already been an old scar on his chest, and the two together now formed a giant, grotesque cross.
Hearing her sobs, Wu Yue followed her in. Upon seeing Xiang Yu’s wounds, he couldn’t hold back his tears either. Holding onto Feng Lan, he wept silently.
The man lying on that bed—what kind of hell had he endured to end up like this?
Tie Zhuzi and Xiao Xuan, though terribly worried, stayed put, utterly exhausted and unable to even stand.
As the group sat listlessly, the elderly doctor came over, bringing steaming hot food for everyone.
It was evident that the elder doctor wasn’t a bad person. Sitting down, he looked at them and said, "Kids, don’t be too sad. Everyone dies; it’s just that he has been relieved of his suffering a little earlier."
The elder was trying to console Xiao Xuan and the others, who, in his eyes, were far too young to endure such pain. He feared they might do something drastic in their despair.
Though they had no appetite, Xiao Xuan and the others began eating unreservedly. They needed to replenish their strength to protect Xiang Yu.
The elder kept talking non-stop. He had initially been worried the youth wouldn’t eat, but it turned out his concerns were unwarranted.
The food he had brought disappeared in no time.
"Can you get us some more?" Xiao Xuan looked up at the elder and asked.
A glimmer of relief flashed in the elder’s eyes as he quickly called someone to bring even more food.
"My Brother Yu has a strong recovery ability. It won’t be long before he’s fine." Liu Yuhang chimed in.
"What?" The elder stared at Liu Yuhang in disbelief.
Seeing that Liu Yuhang wasn’t joking, he hurriedly entered the operating room. Wu Yue and Feng Lan were still holding each other, crying softly.
The elder approached Xiang Yu’s bedside, checking the heart rate monitor and examining his vitals once more.
Finally, his mouth gaped in astonishment, unable to say a word. It was as if he were witnessing the birth of a miracle.
This defied all medical logic. Xiang Yu’s life should have ended long ago, and yet the undeniable reality was staring him in the face.
In all his years as a doctor, he had never experienced anything like this. The elder left the room in a daze, turning to Liu Yuhang and asking, "Are you a doctor too? How did you achieve this?"
At that moment, Liu Yuhang and the others were devouring their food, unable to spare a second to respond.
Seeing this, the elder could only wait until they finished eating. However, the pile of food was already running out again.
At that moment, a man approached from the end of the corridor, wearing only a pair of shorts, his muscular dark skin glistening—a textbook tough guy.
The man quietly joined them, crouching down to eat without a word.
Tie Zhuzi and the others said nothing either. It was as if they all shared an unspoken understanding.
The newcomer was Wang Ze. Seeing them so focused on eating, he knew right away that Xiang Yu was fine. His own strength waning, he began wolfing down food too.
The elder looked on in even greater astonishment—these people were something else. In the bitter cold, they could still go around shirtless...
