Urban Super Soldier King-Chapter 812: Getting It Effortlessly
Chapter 812: Chapter 812: Getting It Effortlessly
When Feng Lan saw Wu Yue so happy, she felt a sense of relief. After all these years, it was only recently that she had seen Wu Yue’s smile.
Feng Lan chose a room with a balcony and sunlight. After lying in her own room for a while, she got up and decided to join Wu Yue for a walk.
As she walked into the living room and opened her mouth to call out, she suddenly sensed that something was off. She glanced toward Wu Yue’s room and vaguely saw two people embracing and kissing.
Feng Lan quickly shut her mouth and quietly walked outside instead. Wu Yue had found someone she liked, and Feng Lan had as well—though Xiang Yu’s wooden persona was giving her a headache.
Time passed quickly, and soon three days had gone by. But during these three days, there was no news of Mi Hui. This was abnormal since Shi Jian’s intelligence network covered every corner and every domain of the city.
"Could it be that he’s already left here?" Shi Jian asked, sitting across from Xiang Yu with a puzzled expression.
Xiang Yu shook his head and replied, "Maybe we’ve been investigating in the wrong direction. He might not be staying in hotels or frequenting entertainment venues. He could just be hiding somewhere working a regular job."
"Xiang Yu, who exactly is this Mi Hui?" Shi Jian finally couldn’t help but ask.
"Someone who sells roujiamo," Xiang Yu said casually.
Shi Jian was speechless. Clearly, Xiang Yu couldn’t separate himself from roujiamo.
"I’ll go organize the brothers and search other areas." Shi Jian stood up and prepared to leave.
"Shi Jian, he might have changed his name," Xiang Yu reminded him.
Shi Jian nodded before leaving. If they knew the person’s name and had a photograph, finding him in the city wouldn’t be difficult. But now it seemed like they’d hit a stalemate.
Another day passed without any updates. By now, it was eight o’clock in the evening. Tie Zhuzi, seeing that there was nothing urgent, decided to take Xiao Xuan out for some fun.
Xiang Yu paced around in his room alone for a bit, then headed downstairs. The city was bustling with traffic and people at this hour.
Xiang Yu aimlessly wandered through the streets. He watched hurried pedestrians rushing home, saw couples laughing together, and noticed employees laboring busily in nearby shops.
All these things felt distant to him. Although Xiang Yu lived in the city, he was like a "lone wolf" roaming its shadows. Everything around him seemed to clash with him.
It was as if there was no meaning to his existence in this city.
Xiang Yu thought absent-mindedly as he wandered into a small food street. It was lively here, with people coming and going.
Most of the diners, however, weren’t from the upper society but appeared to be laborers.
Xiang Yu walked deeper in and spotted a small shop ahead selling roujiamo. Given how he often joked about roujiamo, he decided to go ahead and try a couple.
The shop was very clean, meticulously organized without a speck of dust. Xiang Yu randomly picked a spot to sit.
"Boss, two roujiamo!" Xiang Yu shouted.
A middle-aged man with pale skin hurriedly came out. He wore glasses, was plump, and looked quite scholarly.
When Xiang Yu saw him, he froze on the spot. It was indeed true that "you search high and low only to find it when you least expect." The man before him was someone Xiang Yu was all too familiar with—Mi Hui.
Xiang Yu could only let out a bitter laugh to himself. He had joked that Mi Hui might be selling roujiamo, and here he was, actually selling roujiamo.
Xiang Yu’s gaze faltered for a brief moment, but it was enough for the other man to notice. Mi Hui simply smiled faintly and retreated to the back of the shop to prepare the roujiamo.
About five minutes later, Mi Hui brought two roujiamos to the table and casually sat down. He looked at Xiang Yu and smiled. "I knew this day would come eventually."
Xiang Yu didn’t respond, instead picking up one of the roujiamo and starting to eat. No wonder they couldn’t find the man—he had been hiding here selling roujiamo all along.
This street was rather secluded, and the people here were all ordinary folk at the grassroots level. Subconsciously, Xiang Yu had assumed that as an enemy agent, Mi Hui would be muscular, sophisticated, living in high-end locations—he’d never have guessed Mi Hui was hiding in a place like this.
Mi Hui, noticing Xiang Yu’s silence, continued, "You must be Jin Feng’s man. I realized something was off the moment you walked in."
Hearing this name, Xiang Yu’s expression froze for a moment, but he said nothing and kept eating. He suddenly felt that things might be more complicated than he’d expected—why was Jin Feng’s name coming up now? Jin Feng was clearly Wu Yue and her team’s former boss.
"If you knew, why didn’t you escape?" Xiang Yu asked while eating.
Mi Hui adjusted his glasses and smiled lightly. "Since you’ve found me, there’s no point in running—I wouldn’t get far anyway."
Xiang Yu glanced at him in surprise. Looking at his chubby face, he seemed nothing like an agent, but more like a college professor.
"Do you know what your fate will be?" Xiang Yu said as he finished the last bite of his roujiamo.
Mi Hui calmly smiled. "No need to threaten me. Do whatever you want—I won’t resist." He finished speaking, stood up, and retreated to a room in the back.
At that moment, two men who looked like laborers came in for a meal, but Mi Hui stopped them.
"Sorry, gentlemen. Starting today, this shop is closed. We’re no longer in business." Mi Hui told them, then went into the room to change into another outfit and came back out.
"Let’s go." Mi Hui said calmly as he looked at Xiang Yu.
Mi Hui’s composed demeanor surprised Xiang Yu. He stood up and searched Mi Hui’s body. After confirming that he didn’t have any communication devices, Xiang Yu led the way ahead.
But now there was a problem—Xiang Yu couldn’t find his way back. He had wandered here aimlessly and hadn’t paid attention to the route.
Seeing Xiang Yu turning back and forth like he was taking unnecessary detours, Mi Hui couldn’t help but ask, "Where exactly are you planning to deal with me?"
Xiang Yu chuckled awkwardly, "How do I get to the ** Hotel?"
Mi Hui: "..."
Though Mi Hui hadn’t been in this city for long, he was still more familiar with the layout than Xiang Yu. He took the lead and guided the way back to the hotel.
By then, Tie Zhuzi and Xiao Xuan hadn’t returned yet. The room was empty except for Xiang Yu and Mi Hui. Mi Hui sat calmly on the sofa, eyes closed, as though waiting for his judgment.
Xiang Yu poured him a cup of tea and placed it before him. Mi Hui opened his eyes and looked at Xiang Yu, saying, "Don’t bother with this act. If you’re trying to get me to spill their whereabouts, it’s impossible—I don’t know either. Just get it over with."
"Get it over with? What? I’m not into men." Xiang Yu teased shamelessly.
Mi Hui, seeing Xiang Yu’s cheeky expression, felt some anger rising and coldly glared at him. "You can kill me, but don’t humiliate me. Since I’ve fallen into your hands, I have nothing left to say. Just kill me if you must."
Noticing Mi Hui’s lack of humor and his rather traditional demeanor, Xiang Yu said, "Do you know who our boss is?"
"It’s Jin Feng, isn’t it?" Mi Hui chuckled lightly.
"If you know, then why are you doing this?" Xiang Yu pressed further...
