Urban Miracle Doctor-Chapter 191 Heaven Helps Me Too
Chapter 191: Chapter 191 Heaven Helps Me Too
"Ya Rou, I suspect it’s not the navigation that’s broken, but there’s something wrong with the magnetic field here, look!" Xiao Mei said as she handed the compass to Ling Yarou.
Ling Yarou took the compass and saw the needle spinning rapidly, frowning as she spoke, "It seems it really is a problem with the magnetic field, but I still don’t understand why the satellite navigation is also failing."
Everyone shook their heads at the same time.
"Ya Rou, what about Zhang Feng? We can’t get out now, and he’s been poisoned. I’m afraid he won’t last until morning," the well-built man said.
"How about we let him hold one of the leaves that man gave us in his mouth and see if there are any improvements? With the current situation, it’s simply impossible for us to get out in a short time," Xiao Mei suggested from the side.
The well-built man nodded, saying helplessly, "That seems to be the only option."
After taking care of Zhang Feng, they continued forward. In fact, this group’s outdoor survival experience wasn’t extensive. In situations where direction was hard to discern, the best course of action would be to stay put and wait for the sun the next morning to determine the direction.
Suddenly, another man walking in front with a flashlight stopped.
Seeing him halt, they asked in surprise, "Liang Wenkuan, why aren’t you moving?"
"Shh!" Liang Wenkuan made a silence gesture and pointed ahead. As they followed his gesture, they nearly screamed when they saw the object in front of them.
There appeared a cylindrical creature, elongated, with similar segments, measuring roughly dozens of meters in length—as thick as a forest python, but it wasn’t a snake. Its head wasn’t distinct, but if one had to point it out, the front segment would have to be its head.
This monster didn’t have eyes or ears on its head, only a small mouth. Even though it lacked sharp teeth, the pitch darkness inside resembled the gaze from an abyss.
"What... what is this thing?" Xiao Mei whispered tremblingly.
"It looks a bit like an earthworm, but isn’t this earthworm too big?" Ling Yarou, who studied biology, was familiar with earthworms, but the size of the one in front of her made her question if it could still be called an earthworm.
If Qin Han were here, he would be extremely excited.
Because this was exactly Qin Han’s objective for coming to the primeval forest of Changbai Mountain, the Earth Dragon!
The group stood there, not daring to move, for fear of startling the massive creature.
However, though they stood still, the bristles on the Earth Dragon’s body suddenly stood up and began to tremble. After a brief moment, the creature, resembling a forest python, started to move rapidly towards them.
"Run!" Ling Yarou shouted, quickly running in the opposite direction. This made the well-built man carrying Zhang Feng curse his luck for not having been born with an extra pair of legs.
The group ran through the forest without regard for direction, and just as the Earth Dragon was about to catch up with them, Xiao Mei pointed towards a distance and exclaimed, "There’s a fire over there, there must be people! Run that way!"
Everyone looked in the direction Xiao Mei was pointing, and about a kilometer away, a fire could be seen flickering. The leaves and branches in the forest made the fire seem intermittent.
They ran towards the fire like madmen, with rustling noises behind them and the sounds of small trees being knocked down intermixed.
Qin Han was sitting in front of a campfire performing the Inner Strength circulation of the Microcosmic and Macrocosmic Orbits when he suddenly heard the sounds of running and a noise that didn’t seem human coming from afar.
Could there still be people here?
The sound seemed to indicate someone was being chased by something.
In an instant, Qin Han caught a whiff of a fishy and foul odor in the air. Looking up, he saw several lights moving toward them in the darkness, and behind them, a gigantic python-like creature was in pursuit.
It was only when they drew closer that Qin Han realized it was Ling Yarou and her party, and then he turned to look behind them.
Upon clearly seeing the creature behind them, Qin Han’s figure shot up into the air, leaping onto the steep treetops, and with several bounds arrived in front of Ling Yarou.
"Hide behind the big trees!" Qin Han called out sharply and then confronted the earth dragon that was in hot pursuit.
"The heavens are aiding me!" Qin Han looked at the enormous creature crawling on the ground with a hint of excitement in his eyes.
The rings on this earth dragon’s body had evolved into sturdy scales, with a gap in between each where dense bristles protruded from the creature’s exterior.
"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!" Qin Han released three silver needles in quick succession, shooting them at the earth dragon’s head.
The earth dragon was fully preoccupied with chasing the people ahead and didn’t notice Qin Han in the treetops at all. So the three silver needles carried a fierce momentum through the air, striking the earth dragon’s head directly.
"Pfft, pfft, pfft!" came the sound of the needles piercing flesh.
"Moo!" The earth dragon let out a roar, its massive cry causing the trees around to tremble, and Ling Yarou and the others painfully covered their ears.
After identifying the direction of the attacker, the earth dragon swung its tail at the treetop where Qin Han was standing.
The next moment, Qin Han’s figure sprang up, and the tree he had been standing on, as thick as the mouth of a bowl, snapped as the earth dragon’s tail swept past it.
The earth dragon made more rumbling noises as it realized that the target its bristles had sensed had vanished. Shaking its head from side to side, its bristles stood on end once more.
Suddenly, Qin Han descended from the sky, bringing down one palm with inner strength ignited, firmly striking the earth dragon’s flank. Its flank burst open on the spot, spewing out rose-red blood.
Qin Han landed steadily in front of the earth dragon and said in a deep voice, "I know you can understand me. I only need some of your blood, and I do not intend to slaughter wantonly. Your cultivation has not come easily, it’s best if you cooperate honestly."
The earth dragon by nature was docile, and chasing Ling Yarou and her group was merely an instinctual belief that they were food.
Upon hearing Qin Han’s words, the giant earth dragon actually made a human-like sound, no longer ear-splitting but rather as if pleading, then lay down submissively on the ground, looking completely at the mercy of others.
Qin Han pulled out a porcelain bottle the size of a mineral water bottle from his backpack, went over to where the earth dragon had been struck, and swiftly collected a bottle of its blood.
Afterwards, he patted the earth dragon’s vast body, and the dragon seemed to understand Qin Han’s intention, twisting its body and sluggishly moving away.
An earth dragon that could grow to such a size, at the very least had lived for over two hundred years. Every living being has the right to survive, and since the earth dragon was innately gentle, Qin Han chose not to kill it. He simply took some of its blood and then let it go.
As for the wound on the earth dragon’s flank, Qin Han need not worry, for the most prominent advantage of the earth dragon was its regenerative ability. Even if its body was sliced in half, it could still survive; it just needed time to replenish its vitality.
