Uprising: My Life in a Video Game-Chapter 20 - : Quest
Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Quest
Vorden walked out of the library looking exhausted. Though he was tired he was also both happy and sad at the same time.
Vorden was able to find out more about the society at large. The hierarchy and structure were simple and divided among provinces:
Dominion (Country as we call it)
Ruler: Sovereign
This is the highest unit of the world here.
Territory (State as we call it)
Ruler: Viceroy
This is the biggest unit of a Dominion
After this, they have city, towns and villages like in the real world. This structure is the same for all places in this world.
They have different Dominions and the one Vorden was currently in was Orivon and the Territory was Montclair. It wasn't really a popular Dominion but it was well developed.
The major system of government practiced was Meritocratic Democracy. This is a system where leaders are elected by the people but must meet strict qualifications in governance, law, and economics. It was extremely strenuous.
This system of government enabled more informed citizens to have an advantage in voting. Leaders elected must justify their decisions openly before a supreme court called The Organizers. Becoming a Sovereign or Viceroy was extremely strenuous and staying there was harder.
"That man must have it rough." Vorden thought remembering the Sovereign of the Dominion he was in. "I think his name was Charos Poniros... I wonder how he does it." Vorden walked to the direction of his next class which was his homeroom: Class 5F. He was supposed to teach them Sociology.
Based on what he read, people went really smart academically. They focused mainly on power and skill which was taught in a school. Mathematics isn't a regular subject and it's only taught in Grade 10 to Grade 12, rather, they do Common Reasoning.

"Sociology? I don't know how to socialize with others and you expect me to teach that to kids. I guess I will just wing it." Vorden stepped into the class. He looked around trying to get a feel of the scenery. He put his hands behind his back trying to look like an enlightened expert.
He looked at the 'bodyguards' that had been following him around then looked back at the student. The surrounding was like a typical classroom. Desks, chairs, shelfs were all were they were meant to be.
Vorden picked up a marker and wrote on the board...
MATHEMATICS IS A SCAM
VS
MATHEMATICS IS A SKILL
"All in favour of the first raise your hands..." Vorden said trying to start a debate amongst them
SWOOSH!!
Hands flew up in an instance. There wasn't a single hand that wasn't up.
Vorden was surprised. He half expected that some will defend the first and some the second. Guess he was wishing for too much.
"Ok... You, tell me why you think so?" Vorden pointed at a random students.
"Maths is basically worthless and useless. If it's about numbers and logic, we learn that in common reasoning which is already difficult enough. Math doesn't even have worth and it's rather just there to stress us and get us to pay more cash to the school." the student said as if he was taking a speech. If it was in the real world he might have said 'Hashtag, Justice for Students'.
"Yes, that's true."
"Preach son!"
"Yeah, tell them. Tell them all."
"..."
Before Vorden could reply the student, the other students started backing him up. They started throwing comments about how they support the student's claims.
"This is going to be difficult." Vorden sighed. These students were not ready to change there beliefs, not anytime soon.
