Unscented-Chapter 1100 - 1042 bad news came one after another
When she looked at Murray,she realized that the situation was worst than she imagined.Though no matter how bad she hated Mr.Marc,it was still pitiful for her to see the old man lying in the bed without memories and that too without anyone to take care of him.
"Don’t worry,everything will be fine."Melissa stepped forward and wrapped her hands around him,giving him a tight hug.
Murray let out a long sigh and wrapped his hands around her petite body.
"How is the surveillance investigation going?"Murray asked after a while.
Melissa didn’t tell him about the woman or whatever she found yet.She wanted to make everything clear before she could inform him.
"It seems that someone wants to frame us this time.I guess that someone wants to take advantage of the stage where Granpa wanted to cut off his relationship with us,"
It was strange for every of this to happen.They were invited to mend their relationship and when they get there,they see Mr.Marc almost about to die.And now he was behaving strangely.
All of these surprised Murray.
"The doctor is here."Melissa glanced at the doctor and walked up to him with Murray.
"The patient seems to be in a bad condition.I think I should tell you some follow-up problems."
Hearing this,Melissa felt a chills run down her spines.She glanced at Murray and saw that it had turned all blank.
"Doctor,just say it.We can accept the result."
The doctor opened the medical record and showed it to them.
"Normally,the health of Mr.Marc is not very good.It is completely maintained by medicine.If he hadn’t had such a bad attack this time,he might have lived for a few more years,but at present,according to the health condition of Mr.Marc,the chance of survival is very small,and it will be more likely to suffer from Alzheimer’s disease in the future."
The doctor’s words were euphemistic.Mr.Marc had already lost the part of his memory and now if he was in such a condition,it would be really troublesome in future.
Murray was well prepared,but he was still in daze as he never expected it to be this soon.
"Is it really impossible?"Murray asked again,with expectant eyes.
The doctor shook his head and said,"the patient is very old.At this age,some minor diseases can become the root of the serious diseases,not to mention such an old disease.Besides,there is no one to take care of the patient."
As a matter of fact,Murray felt a little guilty.He was always busy with his business and the clash of the family.His attention never got to his health as he always look fit and healthy.
"We will take good care of him in the future."Murray said guiltily and the doctor left them.
When Murray walked out of the ward,he felt weak...too weak to even to walk by himself,so Melissa held him tightly,trying to hold him back together.
From childhood till now,he had always relied on Mr.Marc and was protected by him.Mr.Marc was like the pillar in his life and now all of a sudden he was told that the pillar of is life was about to fall.He felt as if he was losing everything in his life.
Murray clenched his fists and turned to Melissa,"wait for me to find out the truth!"
Then he turned to Melissa and said,"I’m sorry.I know it’s hard for you but please take care of Granpa in the hospital till I’m back.I’ll find out the truth.As for the children,I’ll visit them time to time."
Melissa nodded and understood what he meant."Don’t worry.I’ll take care of him."
After arranging few things for Melissa,he left.
Sitting at the door of the ward alone,Melissa turned on her laptop and opened the information that she just received.After that,she dialed a number.
"Go to this location and protect the man at all cost.I want to know his every movement,including his whereabouts at any time."She ordered sharply and hung up the call without waiting for any response.
Meanwhile,when she ended the call and turned around,she was surprised to see Renita in the hospital.
She walked to her and asked in surprise,"What are you doing here?"
"I’m sick!"Renita said,avoiding her eye contact as if she was hiding something.
Melissa couldn’t buy the reason.After all,it was the area of the hospital where hospitalised patients were kept,not the general area where people with fever come for checkups.
"What’s going on,Renita?You can tell me!"
Renita heaved a long sigh of relief and sat on the bench."I don’t know how to tell you!"She said unwillingly.
Melissa held her hand and said,"we don’t need so many reasons!"
"Some time ago,I found out that I have cancer and it has already begun to spread.You were already in trouble because of your family problems,I didn’t want to bother you with my sickness too."Remita lowered her head.
It was as if she had prepared herself for facing all the worst results.
The most unprepared person was Melissa.
"You’re kidding,right?Tell me that it’s just a joke..."Melissa stared at her with teary eyes and asked her,unable to believe.
"There is nothing to lie about."Melissa said blankly.
Remita was the one who supported the company and helped her with everything when no one else was there.She was relieved and didn’t even have to worry anything about the company as long was Remita was around.
And now,she was the last one to know about the illness of the person who supported her the most.
This feeling was even worse.
"There must be a way to cure your illness.I have heard that a new medicine is invented abroad.I’ll take you there,you’ll be fine.We can tomorrow or the day after tomorrow once Murray is back."Melissa rambled anxiously and incoherently.
"Well,I know my own health,Melissa.There’s nothingto we can do now.I’m just waiting for my final results."Remita patted her hands gently.
Everyone knew what the final result meant to cancer patients.There’s last report which would say they could no longer be saved!
"Are you sure it’s terminal?"Melissa asked,still holding onto the last hope.
Lowering her head,Renita nodded heavily."I’ve seen through it.I’m relieved to tell you the news."
Tears streamed down Melissa’s face.She hadn’t even been so sad and remorseful even when Murray left but this time it was too much.It felt as if there was a big stone on her heart that made her feel heavy.
"I’m sorry.It’s all my fault."Tears streamed down Melissa’s face uncontrollably.
"I’m not sorry.I know it’s not easy for you to run such a big company alone.But now,you have to take care of it all alone."
It was Renita who was sick but Melissa cried as if she was the one going to die.Remita wondered since when had she started dropping her strong appearance and cry like a baby.
