Unrivaled Soldier in the City-Chapter 387: Challenge to a Battle
Hearing this good news, Zhang Tianyou and the others were thrilled. A sniper's role on the battlefield was simply too significant; they were almost impossible to guard against. If you dodged once or twice, there was no guarantee you could keep dodging a third or fourth time.
"Go! Take them out! Kill these little devils!" Zhang Tianyou shouted, firing his gun relentlessly as the two groups clashed.
By then, Yang Wucheng was completely out of danger. He began making calls to summon the prearranged warriors, wiping out the people from the Island Country in one fell swoop. After all, they were not far from the East Sea Military Region, so reinforcements arrived quickly.
After their victory, Yang Wucheng led his people back and immediately locked down the entire East Sea Military Region. Not a single high-ranking official was permitted to leave. Seeing this, some people grew nervous, their hearts filled with extreme unease.
Meanwhile, Lin Kuang had already appeared at Ye Rong's home. He didn't sneak in; on the contrary, he strode in boldly and confidently.
Upon seeing Lin Kuang, surprise bloomed on the faces of Ye Rong and Ye Tiannan, while Inoue Kenta's expression turned incredibly grim. His intelligence reports had certainly made him aware of Lin Kuang, but since the mission was supposed to be secret, he hadn't paid him any mind. With Lin Kuang's sudden arrival, however, he instantly understood what was happening.
This must be Ye Rong's doing! Otherwise, how could Lin Kuang have arrived so quickly?
Thinking this, Inoue Kenta seethed with anger, his gaze toward Ye Rong filled with murderous intent. What he couldn't understand, however, was how Ye Rong had managed to contact Lin Kuang. He had planted so many spies here, and all the wireless signals were being jammed.
In fact, this was all thanks to Ye Tiannan. Despite his usual debaucherous lifestyle, he still had friends. He knew the signal at his home was jammed, as his calls almost never went through. Therefore, he had asked a friend to get him a special mobile phone that wouldn't be affected by the local signal jamming. Moreover, Ye Tiannan hadn't just acquired this phone; he had prepared it a long time ago, and today, it had finally come in handy.
"Ye Rong, very good," Inoue Kenta snarled. "You two actually dare to betray me. I see you don't want to live!"
As he spoke, he drew a pistol from behind his back and pressed it directly against Ye Rong's forehead. Ye Rong trembled with fear, barely steadying himself to keep from falling.
"Tsk, tsk. Inoue Kenta, I'd advise you to put down that gun," Lin Kuang said calmly, his tone remarkably serene. "Otherwise, I will certainly kill you before you can blow Ye Rong's head off."
Hearing this, Inoue Kenta's expression changed again. He fixed his gaze intently on Lin Kuang, knowing he wasn't lying. Trading his own life for Ye Rong's seemed like an unwise choice.
With this in mind, Inoue Kenta said coolly, "I can let him go. Lin Kuang, I've heard you're very strong. How about a fair fight?" As he looked at Lin Kuang, his eyes carried a subtle hint of provocation.
Lin Kuang smiled slightly. "Sure, but you have to release them first."
"Of course, I'll let them go. I am a man of my word," Inoue Kenta said with a smile.
After speaking, he indeed holstered his gun, his gaze settling on Lin Kuang. Seeing this, Lin Kuang was genuinely surprised but also put away his own weapon.
When Lin Kuang holstered his gun, Ye Rong and Ye Tiannan couldn't help but feel frustrated. They had been hoping Lin Kuang would simply shoot Inoue Kenta dead, so his actions were a disappointment.
"Inoue Kenta, after you," Lin Kuang said indifferently after a glance at him.
"Okay." Inoue Kenta stepped out of the room, with Lin Kuang following right behind him.
The two arrived on the lawn within the estate and stood facing each other. Just then, more than a dozen men from the Island Country appeared in the estate. These were the spies Inoue Kenta had placed around Ye Rong.
"Tell these guys to get lost, or I might not be able to restrain myself from killing them," Lin Kuang said flatly, glancing at the men.
"All of you, withdraw! Do not act without my command!" Inoue Kenta ordered, glancing at the men behind him.
Hearing this, the men from the Island Country nodded in agreement and quickly retreated.
"Lin Kuang," he challenged, "they say you're very skilled. Today, I want to experience it for myself!" As he spoke, Inoue Kenta drew a katana that shimmered with a cold light, its tip aimed at Lin Kuang. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
Seeing this, Lin Kuang smiled coldly. "Inoue Kenta, you deserve to die, you know that? Even though we serve different masters and come from different countries, your actions and methods are utterly contemptible. In the end, you even sent former members of the Seal Special Team to their deaths, wasting their trust in you. A person like you truly deserves to die!"
With every word Lin Kuang spoke, his killing intent intensified, completely enveloping Inoue Kenta.
Feeling the terrifying killing intent, Inoue Kenta's face changed. It made him feel as if he'd been plunged into a freezing cellar, and an indescribable panic rose within him.
He took a deep breath, and his gaze turned icy. "Lin Kuang, as you said, we each serve our own master. It's unavoidable. Come on, enough talk. Show me your strength!" Inoue Kenta said in a cold tone.
Hearing this, Lin Kuang sneered and nodded. "Alright, I'll oblige you."
As he spoke, Lin Kuang drew Nameless from his waist. The ice-cold dagger gleamed with a chilling light that could instill fear in any onlooker. Watching Lin Kuang draw his weapon, Inoue Kenta's expression grew solemn.
In the next instant, his katana poised, he pushed off with his legs and lunged forward, bringing the blade down in a vicious overhead slash aimed at Lin Kuang's head.
Lin Kuang just sneered at the incoming attack. His body didn't move, but he fiercely swung Nameless upward to block.
CLANG!
A sharp ringing of metal on metal echoed as the two weapons collided. However, to Lin Kuang's surprise, the incredible sharpness of Nameless failed to cut through Inoue Kenta's katana. Still, Lin Kuang did notice a small nick appear on the other blade.
Inoue Kenta was also stunned. His katana, known as Zuo Feng, was famous in the Island Country. It was a Treasured Blade, a gift from his master, normally capable of cutting through iron as if it were mud. For his prized blade to be nicked today left him with an incredibly foul expression.
