Of course, if Lin Kuang had known what the Witch was thinking, he would have definitely stayed—stayed to devour this woman whom most men found themselves unable to control.

Back in his room, Lin Kuang plugged his phone in to charge and turned it on. Soon after, it began to buzz as text messages cascaded across the screen. Some were missed call alerts; others were from Yang Ruoxi, asking why he had not replied yet.

As he looked at the stream of messages, the image of Yang Ruoxi's feisty, defiant expression came to mind, and he could not help but let out a silly chuckle. He sent Yang Ruoxi a text back explaining that his phone had died, and then he finally rested.

As Lin Kuang drifted off to sleep, Qin Yuan had also returned to the Dark Blood headquarters through special channels, bringing Wan Mu's corpse with him.

The moment they saw Wan Mu's corpse, the faces of the First, Fourth, and Sixth of the Dark Blood Elders instantly turned grim. This was especially true for the First Elder, whose eyes blazed with an unconcealable, overwhelming killing intent.

The Six Elders of Dark Blood had been together for so long that their bond was closer than that of blood brothers. How could they not be enraged to see Wan Mu dead?

"First Brother, Fourth Brother, Sixth Brother, Second Brother is dead. Fifth Brother sacrificed himself to cover my escape," Qin Yuan said with a grim expression, his eyes filled with endless sorrow.

"Third Brother, what happened? Is the King of the Underworld really that strong?" the First Elder demanded, suppressing his rage.

Qin Yuan nodded. "First Brother, he's very strong—stronger than we ever imagined. By my estimation, even if the three of us were to use the Forbidden Technique together, we probably wouldn't be his match. The only reason I returned is because Fifth Brother knew we were doomed. He sacrificed himself to hold back the King of the Underworld so that I could bring this news back."

As he spoke, pain flashed in Qin Yuan's eyes, but it was overshadowed by an endless killing intent.

The First Elder fell silent. He believed Qin Yuan was not a man who feared death. After all, they had been brothers for so long and knew each other's characters inside and out. If Qin Yuan were a coward, they would have seen it years ago.

"The King of the Underworld is truly worthy of his name, after all," the First Elder said, rising from his seat, his tone icy and overflowing with murderous intent. "It seems we have no choice but to act ourselves. This time, all four of us will go. Either the King of the Underworld dies, or we die. This battle will settle the score!"

"First Brother, are you sure we shouldn't leave anyone behind at headquarters? Not even as a contingency?" Qin Yuan asked with concern.

"No, Third Brother. I know your concerns. Among us six brothers, you've always been the most cautious, always insisting on a fallback plan. But this time is different. We must strike with our full power and eliminate the King of the Underworld directly. Otherwise, anyone left behind at Dark Blood would be unsafe. If the King of the Underworld were to attack our headquarters, no one could stop him. Rather than wait for that, we might as well go all-in and stake everything on this one fight!" the First Elder said in a grave tone.

Qin Yuan paused for a moment, then nodded. "Yes, First Brother. I understand."

"Good. All of you, go and prepare. We move at dawn," the First Elder commanded.

Qin Yuan and the others nodded and left. The First Elder preserved Wan Mu's body with an Ice Seal. He would only be given a proper burial if they succeeded in their revenge.

"King of the Underworld... oh, King of the Underworld," the First Elder muttered, his expression as cold as ice. "Tomorrow, we settle this. Even if all six Elders of Dark Blood perish, I will not let you have an easy time. I'll make sure every power in the underworld is out for your head!"

After speaking, he quickly typed something on his computer and set a timer.

Meanwhile, Lin Kuang slept soundly, lost in pleasant dreams and completely unaware of the events unfolding at Dark Blood. Of course, even if he had known, he would not have cared.

「The night passed uneventfully.」

The next morning, Lin Kuang woke up early feeling full of energy, showing no signs of fatigue despite having slept for only a little over three hours. After washing up and changing into workout clothes, Lin Kuang left his house and headed for Yang Ruoxi's villa.

Nearly twenty minutes later, Lin Kuang arrived at the Yang family residence. Yang Wucheng's military vehicle was parked out front; he had clearly just dropped Yang Ruoxi off.

Stepping into the living room, he found Yang Wucheng, Zhang Qian, Yang Ruotong, Yang Ruoxi, and little Xinxin all there. The atmosphere seemed quite cheerful.

"Lin Kuang, you're here. Have a seat," Yang Wucheng greeted with a smile.

Lin Kuang smiled, bowed slightly to greet Yang Wucheng and Zhang Qian, and then sat down beside Yang Ruoxi. Just then, little Xinxin cheerfully ran over and climbed into his lap. The little girl seemed to adore being with him.

"Lin Kuang, Ruoxi has completely broken things off with Chen Shaowen, and she did it in front of many of East Sea's most prominent figures," Yang Wucheng said with a smile. "So, you'll need to be careful. I can't say for sure what Chen Zhongrui will do, but that Chen Shaowen is unlikely to let this go. He'll probably come after you."

Hearing this, Lin Kuang rolled his eyes and gave Yang Wucheng a helpless look. "Uncle Yang," he said with resignation, "isn't this exactly what you wanted to see?"

"Ahem! You brat! Can't you save me some face with so many people around?" Yang Wucheng said, flustered and annoyed, clearly not having expected Lin Kuang to see right through his scheme.

In fact, this was precisely what Yang Wucheng had been thinking. He had deliberately drawn Chen Shaowen's animosity toward Lin Kuang. This way, Chen Shaowen would focus all his attention on Lin Kuang, making Yang Ruoxi much safer by comparison. After all, Lin Kuang was powerful and had no reason to fear Chen Shaowen's schemes. This was the real reason Yang Wucheng had taken Yang Ruoxi to the event yesterday and acted as he did.

Lin Kuang undoubtedly understood this, which was why he did not press the issue. After all, Yang Ruoxi was his woman, and it was only natural for a man to protect her.

"Fine, just pretend I never said it," Lin Kuang muttered, a little frustrated.

"Words spoken are like water spilled; how can you take them back? Enough. Go and spar with Ruoxi. She's been planning to teach you a good lesson today," Yang Wucheng said irritably.

Lin Kuang nodded and glanced at Yang Ruoxi beside him. She was indeed raring to go, swinging her little fists in a rather adorable way.

"Ahem, Ruoxi, just try not to cry when you lose, all right?" Lin Kuang could not resist teasing.

"Hmph! Even if I lose today, there's still the day after tomorrow! I'll beat you sooner or later!" Yang Ruoxi declared with immense confidence.
