Chen Shaowen had come for Yang Ruoxi. Although he had never seen her before, he knew one crucial thing: she possessed the extremely rare Extreme Yin Body. That was precisely why Chen Shaowen had followed his father, Chen Zhongrui, to the Yang Family—he was specifically after Yang Ruoxi and her Extreme Yin Body.

Chen Zhongrui had obtained a peculiar medicine. If Chen Shaowen and Yang Ruoxi were to dual cultivate while taking it, his own cultivation speed would multiply, allowing him to become a powerful master in a very short time. Of course, the price for his power was steep. While he would grow immensely strong, Yang Ruoxi would die shortly after their union. No one else knew of this, as Chen Zhongrui had certainly never mentioned it to Yang Wucheng.

To become stronger, Chen Shaowen was determined to succeed on this trip. But now, an unexpected interloper had completely ruined his grand plans. This left Chen Shaowen furious, even to the point of murder.

As long as I get rid of Lin Kuang, Yang Ruoxi will be mine, and Yang Wucheng will agree to my request!

At this thought, Chen Shaowen abruptly stood up and fixed his gaze on Yang Wucheng.

"Uncle Yang, I object. I like Ruoxi, and I want to be with her. We both come from martial arts families, while this Lin Kuang appears to be an ordinary person. How about this? Let me fight Lin Kuang. If I win, he backs off. If he wins, I'll back off. What do you say?" Chen Shaowen said, suppressing his anger with a cool facade.

Hearing this, Yang Wucheng's expression immediately darkened. The demand was utterly unreasonable. This was not some martial arts tournament to win a bride; Chen Shaowen's request was absurd.

Just as Yang Wucheng was about to refuse, Chen Zhongrui suddenly spoke up with a smile. "Wucheng, my son can be a bit impulsive. You're a magnanimous man, so please don't hold it against him. Besides, I would also like to see young friend Lin Kuang's abilities. Why not let them have a friendly match?"

Yang Wucheng was slightly taken aback by Chen Zhongrui's words. He had not expected him to intervene at this juncture.

Why is Chen Zhongrui so insistent on his son having my daughter? There must be something more to this that I don't know. Otherwise, after I made my position so clear, why would he suddenly say this?

At this thought, Yang Wucheng hesitated. He and Chen Zhongrui had known each other for a long time. Furthermore, the Chen Family had made an exception and taught their Chen Family Tai Chi to Ruoxi to help her. This was a great kindness that Yang Wucheng had never forgotten. With Chen Zhongrui having said his piece, Yang Wucheng truly did not know how to respond. If he agreed, he would be letting down his daughter and Lin Kuang. If he refused, however, he would be disrespecting Chen Zhongrui. For a moment, Yang Wucheng was caught in a dilemma.

Seeing this, Lin Kuang suddenly rose to his feet and smiled. "Since Mr. Chen wishes for a match, I am naturally willing to oblige. However, Yang Ruoxi is not a prize to be won. She is not an object! If you're a real man, you'll court her yourself. If you can make Ruoxi fall for you, then I'll step aside."

As he finished, Lin Kuang's tone grew colder. Treating a woman like an object, like a wager in a bet, was something he could never do—and Yang Ruoxi was certainly no object.

Hearing Lin Kuang's words, Chen Shaowen was momentarily stunned. A sharp glint flashed deep within Chen Zhongrui's eyes. Admiration shone in Yang Wucheng's gaze. As for Zhang Qian, the more she looked at Lin Kuang, the more she approved—a classic case of a mother-in-law admiring her future son-in-law.

Yang Ruoxi herself was deeply moved. As Lin Kuang had said, she was not an object, and certainly not a prize in a bet.

Once the shock wore off, comprehension seemed to dawn on Chen Shaowen. His face flushed, a mixture of shame and, more powerfully, rage.

"Fine, I accept your terms. Please forgive me for speaking so impulsively just now." As he spoke, Chen Shaowen gave a slight bow to Yang Ruoxi.

Yang Ruoxi just snorted and ignored him completely, making Chen Shaowen even more embarrassed, though he held his tongue.

"Alright, since the two youngsters have agreed, let them go outside and have a match," Yang Wucheng said with a smile, though inwardly he was furious with the Chen father and son.

"Good, let's go out and watch," Chen Zhongrui added with a smile of his own, acting as if he had not noticed Yang Wucheng's displeasure at all.

As Yang Wucheng, Zhang Qian, and Chen Zhongrui headed out, Lin Kuang and Chen Shaowen followed.

"You bastard, get him! Beat him senseless!" Yang Ruoxi whispered as she sidled up to Lin Kuang.

Although she kept her voice low, Chen Shaowen was barely a meter away. How could he not hear? Hearing Yang Ruoxi's words, his face turned livid, but he said nothing. I swear, once I get my hands on her, I'll make her suffer! he vowed internally.

Glancing at Chen Shaowen's livid expression, Lin Kuang could not help but crack a small smile. "Don't worry, wifey. Some people are just asking for a beating. I'll be sure to listen to my wife and teach him a proper lesson!"

Lin Kuang said this with a grin, his voice just loud enough for Chen Shaowen to hear clearly. At his words, Chen Shaowen's face grew even darker. He wished he could flay Lin Kuang alive.

Beside Lin Kuang, Yang Ruoxi blushed and shot him a playful glare, but she said nothing more, tacitly accepting his new form of address.

The group then filed out of the room and into the manor's courtyard. Lawns flanked the main area, providing a suitable space for a fight.

"You two can have your match on the lawn," Yang Wucheng said coolly, looking from Lin Kuang to Chen Shaowen. "Remember, this is a spar. Try not to cause any serious injury."

Lin Kuang smiled and nodded. "Don't worry, Uncle Yang. I know how to hold back."

"Hmph, I know how to hold back, too!" Chen Shaowen scoffed. Although he had lost the previous round of verbal sparring, he refused to believe he was no match for Lin Kuang in a real fight.

"Is that so?" Lin Kuang said, standing on the lawn opposite him. "Then, by all means. I've always wanted to witness the Chen Family Tai Chi, and now I finally have the chance. I hope you won't disappoint me."

"Hmph, rest assured, the Chen Family Tai Chi won't disappoint. I just hope you're not the one begging for mercy when we're done!" Chen Shaowen retorted, his voice thick with anger.

Lin Kuang just shrugged nonchalantly. "We shall see."

Seeing Lin Kuang's relaxed, almost dismissive attitude, a surge of nameless fury welled up inside Chen Shaowen, and he immediately fell into a fighting stance.
