Chapter 207: Chapter 207: Simply Joyful

"Uh, popped? They look fine to me. They were just jiggling a moment ago," Lin Kuang said with a mischievous grin as he carefully examined the Witch’s chest.

Upon hearing this, the Witch glared fiercely at Lin Kuang. Her delicate little face flushed red, making her look both adorable and enchanting.

"You’re asking to die, you jerk!" the Witch said indignantly.

"Is that really necessary? I just saved you, and now you’re cursing me. Talk about being ungrateful!" Lin Kuang said, frustrated.

Hearing this, the Witch huffed proudly and puffed out her chest. "That’s right, Mr. Donkey. How are you?"

As she spoke, she bared her teeth at Lin Kuang, revealing two rows of pearly white teeth.

Upon hearing this, dark lines formed on Lin Kuang’s forehead. Should I not have saved this girl?

The Witch abandoned Lin Kuang and strutted over to Hajin. Looking at his pale face, she was very pleased with herself and couldn’t help but taunt him. "Jerk, it serves you right for trying to catch me! Get up and try again if you can, you bastard!" As she spoke, she stomped fiercely on Hajin’s body twice.

Hajin’s face turned ashen. He was on the verge of tears from the sheer, helpless frustration. This witch is just here to kick me while I’m down! Thinking about her words, he was too powerless to retort, and the sheer anger made him spit out two mouthfuls of blood.

The sight gave the Witch a shock. If she hadn’t dodged quickly, the blood would have sprayed all over her feet.

"You jerk! Trying to splatter me with blood even as you’re dying? I’ll stomp you to death, stomp you to death!" the Witch said viciously, stomping on Hajin’s body two more times.

Hajin was so enraged his face went from ashen to purple and back again. Finally, his eyes rolled back, and he simply passed out to avoid any further humiliation.

Seeing Hajin faint, the Witch kicked him a couple more times. When she realized he had truly passed out, she couldn’t help but mutter, "So boring. He passed out way too quickly."

Hearing her words, Lin Kuang broke out in a cold sweat. This girl is downright cruel!

Just then, police sirens wailed as four or five police cars sped over. It was a SWAT team, and every officer was fully armed.

Seeing the SWAT officers arrive, Lin Kuang’s expression remained calm. This was all within his expectations. He hadn’t left with the Witch precisely because he was waiting for the police. If he had left, they would have certainly tracked him down for a statement later. Rather than go through that hassle, he had decided to just wait here.

The SWAT officers got out of their cars. A man who appeared to be the captain led his team to surround Lin Kuang and the Witch.

"What happened here? Who called the police?" Qu Chang’an asked with a frown.

"They tried to kidnap me, but my friend arrived and subdued them. That’s the long and short of it," the Witch said coolly, her expression sour. She felt they had arrived too late; that jerk Lin Kuang had proven more reliable.

"As simple as that? Weren’t the suspects reported to be armed?" Qu Chang’an asked in disbelief.

"They *were* armed, but they’ve been dealt with, haven’t they?" the Witch retorted, annoyed.

Qu Chang’an was left speechless by her reply. Frustrated, he ordered his men to arrest Hajin and his five companions.

"Captain, these men are all carrying guns!" one of the SWAT officers reported, returning to Qu Chang’an’s side and speaking in a low voice.

Upon hearing this, Qu Chang’an was shocked. They even brought grenades? This is complete lawlessness! Although he had encountered similar situations several times this month, the thought of a grenade exploding among these students—the casualties, the consequences—was enough to make him panic. Fortunately, no such disaster occurred. Otherwise, the consequences would have been truly unimaginable.

"Does that vehicle belong to these Americans?" Qu Chang’an asked again, pointing to the car with the firearms.

"Yes, that one’s theirs. The Mercedes is ours," the Witch replied irritably, pointing to the black Mercedes.

"Alright, and where is the person who reported the crime?" Qu Chang’an asked.

"How should I know?" the Witch said, rolling her eyes.

At that moment, a security guard ran out of the school’s security office. "Hello, officer. I was the one who called the police," he said hastily, glancing apologetically at the Witch.

As a security guard, he was technically supposed to handle such situations. But he was only human. He could handle minor troubles, but Hajin and his men had guns. How could he possibly dare to intervene? Going out there would have been suicide, so he had no choice but to call the police.

The Witch smiled at the security guard. She understood that under the circumstances, calling the police first had been the right choice.

"Ah, so you’re a witness as well?" Qu Chang’an asked, looking at the guard with a smile.

"Yes, sir. I witnessed the entire incident," the security guard replied eagerly.

"Very good. All of you will need to come with me to give a statement. We’ll contact you again if anything else comes up," Qu Chang’an said.

The security guard nodded immediately. Lin Kuang and the Witch were also very cooperative, getting into their car and following Qu Chang’an back to the municipal bureau.

Coincidentally, Lin Kuang spotted Kong Cheng. "Captain Kong—oh, my mistake, Deputy Director Kong. Congratulations," Lin Kuang said with a smile, greeting the uniformed Kong Cheng.

Hearing the familiar voice, Kong Cheng turned around. He was taken aback for a moment when he saw it was Lin Kuang. "Mr. Lin, what brings you here?" he asked a moment later with a warm smile.

Lin Kuang briefly explained what had happened.

"Oh, I see," Kong Cheng said with a nod. He trusted that Lin Kuang wasn’t lying; it was an intuition he had developed over many years as a detective.

"Captain Qu," Kong Cheng said, glancing at Qu Chang’an with a smile. "Leave these two to me. The rest of you can handle the remaining procedures."

Qu Chang’an quickly nodded. He and Kong Cheng had always been on good terms at the precinct, and now that Kong Cheng was the deputy director, Qu Chang’an was naturally happy to accommodate him.

"Of course, Deputy Director Kong. I’ll take my men and get started then," Qu Chang’an said, leading his team into the station.

"Let’s go, Mr. Lin. I’ll have to trouble you to come and give a statement," Kong Cheng said to Lin Kuang with a smile.

Lin Kuang nodded cooperatively. "Of course, Deputy Director Kong. Please, lead the way."
