Chapter 198: Chapter 198: Calm and Unhurried

Seeing Yang Ruoxi and little Xinxin getting out of the car, Lin Kuang couldn’t help but smile. Her return was perfectly timed. Had she been any earlier, trouble might have really broken out.

As he thought this, Lin Kuang stood up and went outside. He had just stepped out when little Xinxin ran over with her arms outstretched. "Uncle, hug me!" she said with a giggle, her delicate face as pretty as a doll’s, making her incredibly endearing.

Seeing this, Lin Kuang scooped Xinxin into his arms.

"Did you just get out of school, little Xinxin?" Lin Kuang asked with a beaming smile.

Xinxin nodded with a giggle. "Yes, yes, school’s out! We had an activity today, so we finished late," she explained, pouting unhappily. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

"It’s okay. It wasn’t that late," Lin Kuang said with a laugh, carrying Xinxin into the living room. Yang Ruoxi followed with a look of resignation, having noticed that Xinxin seemed to particularly enjoy being with Lin Kuang.

Seeing Yang Ruoxi and Xinxin return, Yang Ruotong smiled and said, "You’re back? I’ll go make dinner."

"Yeah, go ahead, sis. I’ll head upstairs first," Yang Ruoxi replied with a smile. She glanced at Lin Kuang and added, "I’ll wait for you upstairs."

After saying this, Yang Ruoxi put down Xinxin’s schoolbag and turned to go upstairs.

Lin Kuang chatted with Xinxin for a while before letting her play on her own. He then went upstairs and entered Yang Ruoxi’s room, where she was already sitting on the bed, prepared.

Without hesitation, Lin Kuang sat behind her, placed his hands on her back, and began to transfer his most potent yang True Qi into her body.

Half an hour later, Lin Kuang withdrew his hands, and they both got off the bed. They chatted in the room for a while until Xinxin ran up to call them for dinner. The two then went downstairs to the dining table that Yang Ruotong had already set.

The four of them ate quietly. Although not much was said, the atmosphere was very warm, like a family sharing a pleasant meal together.

After dinner, Lin Kuang played with Xinxin while Yang Ruotong and Yang Ruoxi cleaned up the dishes. Afterward, they all sat on the couch, chatting leisurely. Before they knew it, it was past nine in the evening, and the sky outside had completely darkened.

Glancing at the time, Lin Kuang stood up. "I’m heading off. See you tomorrow."

Yang Ruotong and Yang Ruoxi nodded, while Xinxin chirped, "Goodbye, Uncle!"

Lin Kuang nodded with a smile, then turned and left the Yang Family’s house, heading toward the Liu Family’s residence.

Walking alone on the deserted road, Lin Kuang felt very content. He was growing to love this kind of life more and more and felt he had completely settled into it.

"If life could just go on like this, it would be a pretty good choice," Lin Kuang muttered to himself.

Just then, a white van sped toward him and screeched to a halt at his side.

Lin Kuang froze. The van’s door slid open, revealing four AK-47s aimed directly at him.

"You’re Lin Kuang, right?" an American man inside the van asked coolly. It was Kenya.

Seeing this, Lin Kuang met their gazes with a calm smile. "I am. Do you need something?"

In truth, I already sensed the killing intent from the men in the van. I didn’t leave simply because I wanted to see who they were. Besides, I’m confident that no one could stop me if I chose to leave.

Seeing Lin Kuang’s expression, Kenya was slightly surprised. For a man to remain so calm when facing certain death was not something an ordinary person could do. Based on this composure alone, Kenya felt a flicker of admiration for him.

"We do. We want to kill you!" Kenya said, his voice now dripping with Killing Intent.

Feeling the Killing Intent wash over him, Lin Kuang remained unfazed. Instead, he smiled and asked, "Are you American Special Forces?" As he spoke, his eyes were fixed on Kenya.

They don’t feel like mercenaries. On the contrary, they carry the distinct aura of soldiers—an aura I would never mistake. Furthermore, their skill and movements are clearly not those of ordinary troops. Therefore, they have to be Special Forces. What puzzles me, however, is why American Special Forces would be after me. Could it be because of the incident a year ago? No, that’s impossible. America and Hua Country reached an agreement to drop the matter; otherwise, I would’ve never walked out of Devil’s Island. Most importantly, the American military knows my capabilities. Sending these Special Forces after me is a suicide mission. This means they weren’t sent by the American government but must be working for someone else.

I’ve made a few enemies in East Sea, but not many would have connections to American Special Forces. Could it be Wang Ya Hao? He studied in America for a few years, and these guys show up just two days after I humiliated him. The more I think about it, the more he seems like the prime suspect.

Of course, this was all just his speculation, and he couldn’t be certain.

At this moment, Kenya began to see Lin Kuang in a new light. The man before him possessed not only immense composure but also a terrifyingly sharp mind. No ordinary person could figure out they were Special Forces so quickly. Kenya’s estimation of Lin Kuang rose, and he grew extremely wary. Caution was essential when facing such a person, especially for a meticulous man like Kenya.

"How did you know?" Kenya asked, his face stern.

Although Kenya hadn’t admitted it, his question was an indirect confirmation of his identity. He was also extremely curious about how Lin Kuang had figured it out. Of course, Kenya remained fully confident he could eliminate Lin Kuang at any moment; otherwise, he wouldn’t be wasting time with this conversation.

"Was it supposed to be difficult?" Lin Kuang replied calmly. "Each of you carries a distinct military aura—that’s the fundamental difference between soldiers and mercenaries. Especially with that American national emblem on your hand. While that doesn’t prove much on its own, I’m confident in my deduction.

"I’m just curious. As Special Forces, why do you want to kill me? Who gave you the order?"
