Chapter 188: Chapter 188: Death Slide

Lin Kuang nodded. "Don’t worry, I’ll be careful. Just wait for my signal. When I say charge, you all rush out." Taking the submachine gun, Lin Kuang added with a smile.

Guo Delun nodded. Either way, it’s worth a shot. It would be fantastic if this actually works. Thinking this, Guo Delun began to instruct his men. Meanwhile, Lin Kuang, now armed with a submachine gun in his right hand and a Desert Eagle in his left, readied himself.

"Lin Kuang, be careful," Zhang Lianmei couldn’t help but say. Though she knew he was powerful, she still felt a little worried.

"Relax, it’s no problem!"

With that, Lin Kuang took a deep breath and shot forward. He moved so fast that he was just a blur, a faint afterimage left in his wake.

Down the corridor, Zhou Ertao and his men were standing guard. They only had to hold out for another ten or so minutes before reinforcements arrived. If they could last that long, they would be victorious, and the Eagle Sect would be completely annihilated.

However, when Lin Kuang appeared, they didn’t even notice. His speed was so extreme that their vision blurred. In that instant, their minds went blank, and they completely forgot to open fire.

Just then, Lin Kuang erupted into action.

He pulled the trigger on the submachine gun in his right hand, weaving a Fire Snake of bullets that mercilessly cut down Zhou Ertao’s men. His left hand also fired repeatedly with the Desert Eagle, felling one man after another.

In the first exchange, Zhou Ertao’s side lost more than ten men, enraging him to no end.

"Fire! Fire! Hit him with everything you’ve got! Kill him!" Zhou Ertao roared furiously.

At his command, his subordinates finally opened fire.

At this point, Lin Kuang’s figure weaved through the narrow corridor as if in a dance. A miracle seemed to unfold before their very eyes. The bullets whizzed past his body, yet not a single one hit him. It was as if he was faster than the bullets themselves.

Seeing this, Guo Delun and his men were completely flabbergasted. Is that a man? He’s more like a ghost!

Zhou Ertao’s men were equally stunned, totally unprepared for such a thing. They stood frozen, unable to believe what they were seeing. After all, how can a person dodge bullets?

In truth, it was all an illusion. It looked as if Lin Kuang was faster than a bullet, but that wasn’t the case. He was able to dodge their shots not because he outpaced them, but because his senses were so sharp that he was aware of everyone’s slightest movements. By observing their actions, Lin Kuang could predict the trajectory of their shots an instant before they fired, allowing him to evade them. The effect made him appear to be faster than a bullet, but it was merely a trick of perception. Of course, only someone with Lin Kuang’s level of prowess could have discerned the truth.

Seeing Zhou Ertao’s men stunned, Lin Kuang’s submachine gun spat out another Fire Snake, the overwhelming firepower completely suppressing the enemy.

"What are you gawking at? Get them!" Lin Kuang suddenly roared.

His shout snapped Guo Delun and the others back to reality. They felt a flush of shame, realizing they had been so mesmerized by Lin Kuang’s power that they had forgotten to attack.

With this thought, Guo Delun bellowed, "Charge! Everyone, charge! Kill them!"

Roaring, Guo Delun was the first to rush forward. Following his lead, his men stormed into the corridor, their submachine guns and pistols blazing. The intense firepower immediately pinned down Zhou Ertao and the men from Leopard Hall.

Seeing this, Zhou Ertao gritted his teeth, knowing Leopard Hall was doomed. The men he brought stood no chance against such a barrage. He shot Lin Kuang a venomous glare, then kicked open a nearby door and bolted inside.

Lin Kuang’s eyes narrowed, a murderous intent flickering in his gaze. Zhou Ertao absolutely cannot be allowed to escape. If he gets away, he’ll inevitably organize a reprisal. While I’m not afraid, having them lurking in the shadows would be a threat to both me and the Eagle Sect.

With this in mind, Lin Kuang shouted, "Full fire! Take them out! Don’t let Zhou Ertao get away!"

Hearing his words, Guo Delun and his men went all out, firing relentlessly as they fought for their lives. In the span of a few breaths, the remaining men from Leopard Hall all died violent deaths.

Lin Kuang quickly moved past them and entered the room Zhou Ertao had fled into. When Lin Kuang stepped inside, his expression changed slightly. There was a secret door, and Zhou Ertao was already gone.

"I’m going after Zhou Ertao. You handle the cleanup!" he said, then stepped through the secret passage. In his haste, Zhou Ertao hadn’t closed it properly.

Opening the door revealed a long slide, which apparently led outside. Without hesitating, Lin Kuang jumped in and began to slide down frantically. The wind whistled in his ears as his speed reached incredible levels. The slide was extremely long; after half a minute, he still hadn’t reached the bottom, and his speed was only increasing.

A moment later, Lin Kuang finally saw a glimmer of light from the slide’s exit. Clearly, he was almost at the end.

Just then, a dark, palm-sized round object was tossed in through the opening.

Lin Kuang’s gaze sharpened. With his excellent vision, he saw that the dark object was none other than a grenade. His face paled instantly. Though I’m powerful, in this narrow passage, that grenade might not kill me, but it’s powerful enough to leave me half-dead!

Thinking fast, he surged the True Qi in his body, accelerating even faster as the energy enveloped him in a protective layer. In the next moment, he hurled the submachine gun from his right hand. The weapon flew with incredible speed and force, smashing into the grenade.

CLANG.

The sound of clashing metal rang out as the submachine gun knocked the grenade back out of the slide. At the same time, Lin Kuang gritted his teeth and pushed his speed to the absolute limit, hoping to escape the slide before the grenade detonated.

However, the moment the submachine gun knocked the grenade out of the slide, it exploded with a deafening roar. A brilliant fireball erupted into the sky as a powerful shockwave and a torrent of fire blasted back into the narrow passage.
