Unrivaled Soldier in the City-Chapter 157: Another Wave Arises (6th Update)
This was Wang Ya Hao, the son of the wealthiest man in East Sea, a man who held an extraordinary status. Moreover, he had powerful forces backing him. In East Sea, who wouldn’t show Wang Ya Hao some respect? No one had ever dared to treat him this way. Lin Kuang was the first!
Wang Ya Hao was stunned. He hadn’t expected the bottle to miss. He’d pulled stunts like this often abroad, but this was the first time he’d ever failed! His evening suit was now ruined, his hair completely disheveled by Lin Kuang, and with blood dripping down his face, he was a complete mess. How could he possibly attend the ceremony in this state? With so many people watching him get taken down by a nobody, how could he, Wang Ya Hao, ever show his face in public again?
At this thought, Wang Ya Hao’s rage boiled over. He was no ordinary person, having made a name for himself abroad as a ruthless character.
The next moment, Wang Ya Hao bent over and slammed his palms onto the glass coffee table. With a surge of force, he tried to flip it, making the table tremble violently.
But who was Lin Kuang? A battle-hardened King of Wolves. How could he not see through Wang Ya Hao’s intentions? Lin Kuang leaped lightly, his left foot stomping firmly onto the coffee table. The table shuddered but didn’t topple. Then, in a fluid motion, Lin Kuang executed a swallow flip, leaning back as his right foot slammed viciously into Wang Ya Hao’s chest.
BANG! Wang Ya Hao was sent flying to the ground. Using the momentum, Lin Kuang landed lightly back where he had started, as if nothing had happened at all. It was as if Wang Ya Hao had simply tripped and fallen on his own.
When Wang Ya Hao collapsed to the floor, the frightened onlookers scrambled backward, their eyes wide with horror as they stared at Lin Kuang. Others, however, watched Lin Kuang with sneers, certain that by offending Wang Ya Hao, he had just signed his own death warrant.
"Pathetic clown."
Lin Kuang shot Wang Ya Hao a dismissive glance before sitting down between the little Witch and Liu Shilin. At that moment, Lin Kuang gave off the illusion of being a powerful figure. He could only be described by the phrase: "Awake, he holds the world in his palm; asleep, he rests his head on a beauty’s lap." It was an indescribable aura. Seeing this, some of the guests felt a shiver run down their spines, sensing that Lin Kuang was no ordinary man. It made sense when they thought about it. Would any ordinary person dare to attack Wang Ya Hao like that? Wasn’t he just asking for an early grave?
Wang Ya Hao’s face was crimson with rage, his eyes burning with an undisguised fury. If looks could kill, Lin Kuang would have already been sliced into a thousand pieces. Like an enraged lion, Wang Ya Hao fixed his gaze on Lin Kuang and charged again.
However, just as he moved, a voice stopped him in his tracks.
"Young Master Wang, Young Master Wang, let’s talk things over. After all, this is Shunyang and Lin Guo’er’s engagement ceremony. Whatever the issue is, we can discuss it after the ceremony ends."
Chu Zhongtian emerged from the crowd with a wide smile. The more enemies Lin Kuang made, the happier he was.
Seeing that it was Chu Zhongtian, the furious Wang Ya Hao forced himself to calm down. "Ah, it’s Young Master Chu. Since you’ve put it that way, I’ll certainly do you this favor," Wang Ya Hao said coolly.
He didn’t understand Chu Zhongtian’s intentions—whether he was here to help him or Lin Kuang. But regardless, Chu Zhongtian’s appearance had given him a graceful way out of a difficult situation. And Wang Ya Hao was no fool. A moment ago, he was ready to fight Lin Kuang to the death for the sake of his pride, but he was also well aware that he was no match for him. Now that Chu Zhongtian had come to mediate, Wang Ya Hao was happy to take the out he was given.
"Haha, thank you very much, Young Master Wang," Chu Zhongtian said with a laugh. He then turned his gaze to Lin Kuang. "Mr. Lin, do me a favor and let this matter drop. How about it?"
Hearing this, Lin Kuang looked at Chu Zhongtian with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile. "Mr. Chu, you really do seem to pop up wherever there’s trouble. But are you underestimating me, trying to use someone like him against me?" Lin Kuang asked, his grin suggesting he wasn’t worried in the slightest.
At Lin Kuang’s words, Chu Zhongtian’s narrow eyes widened slightly, but the deep smile on his face never faded. "Mr. Lin, you jest. This is an engagement ceremony, after all. It wouldn’t be right to cause a scene here, would it?" he said smoothly, completely unfazed, as if discussing the most mundane of matters.
Looking at Chu Zhongtian’s smile that hid a dagger, Lin Kuang smiled faintly. "You have a point. Since you’ve put it that way, Mr. Chu, we’ll let this matter rest. We’ll have plenty of chances to interact in the future. We can settle this score slowly."
"Thank you, Mr. Lin," Chu Zhongtian said with a grin, then led Wang Ya Hao away.
As Wang Ya Hao left, he gave Lin Kuang a deep, hard look, as if burning his face into his memory forever. Lin Kuang paid him no mind; he truly couldn’t be bothered with people like that. However, this Chu Zhongtian is a different story. He’s a man whose schemes run deep, and people like that aren’t easy to deal with. I’ll have to be careful around him.
"Lin Kuang, is this really okay? We already have so many opponents. Now we’ve added the Huang Family and the Wang family. This is very disadvantageous for us," Liu Shilin said, her voice laced with worry. Of course, she wasn’t blaming Lin Kuang for his actions, only concerned for his safety.
Before Lin Kuang could even reply, the little Witch jumped to his defense. "Hmph! They’re all jerks. Lin Kuang did the right thing! They needed to be taught a lesson, or they’ll never learn!" she huffed, her displeasure with Huang Zelun and Wang Ya Hao clear.
Hearing this, Lin Kuang couldn’t help but smile wryly. And I’m usually the one she calls a jerk!
"Shiyu, don’t talk nonsense," Liu Shilin chided gently.
"It’s alright, Shilin," Lin Kuang said, squeezing her hand reassuringly. "The little Witch is right; some people just need to be put in their place. When you live in this world, you shouldn’t let yourself be bullied. Strike when you must. Besides, we have so many enemies already, what’s a few more?"
Feeling his touch, Liu Shilin’s pretty face blushed, and a warmth spread through her heart. Yeah, so what if we have a few more enemies? At worst... at worst, I’ll just run away with Lin Kuang and leave this city. This thought alone was enough to lift her spirits.
PS: I recommend a book that is currently free to read on QQ Reading, titled "The Strongest Divine Weapon" by Shaodao.
