Chapter 151: Chapter 151: Guo’er Seeks Help (6th Update)

"Oh, is that so," the Little Witch said, sighing in relief.

Hearing this, Lin Kuang gave the Little Witch a cryptic smile, causing two deep blushes to bloom on her doll-like face.

"Wh-what are you looking at?!" she demanded peevishly.

"Nothing. It’s actually a wonderful feeling, being worried about by the Little Witch," Lin Kuang said with a wide smile.

At his words, the Little Witch’s cheeks turned an even deeper shade of red, and she shot him a fierce glare. "You... I wasn’t worried about you! Stop flattering yourself!" she snapped, though her fierce act seemed completely unconvincing. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

Seeing this, Lin Kuang said nothing, just continuing to watch her with a grin.

The Little Witch grew flustered under his gaze and huffed. "I can’t be bothered with you. I’m going to sleep!"

With that, she turned and stormed off, looking rather flustered in her retreat.

Watching her leave, Lin Kuang couldn’t help but chuckle. "That girl’s actually pretty great," he murmured to himself. He then returned to his room, stripped off his clothes for a shower, and finally laid down on his bed to rest.

Just then, a text came in from Fan Bingbing. The two of them began chatting about their recent lives, and the tone of their conversation grew rather flirtatious. The thought of Fan Bingbing’s alluring figure, in particular, made a wave of restlessness stir within him. They finally ended their chat close to midnight, and Lin Kuang settled in to sleep.

「The night passed uneventfully.」

The next morning, Lin Kuang rose early, freshened up, and went to the small square. Before long, the lovely figure of Yang Ruoxi appeared.

When Lin Kuang saw her arrive, he couldn’t help but approach her with a wide grin.

"What are you grinning about? It’s so creepy," Yang Ruoxi huffed, looking at his infuriatingly smug smile.

"Not at all! You’re completely misjudging me. I happen to be a very righteous person!" Lin Kuang declared with complete conviction.

"Like hell I’d believe you," Yang Ruoxi retorted, pursing her lips.

"Even if you don’t believe me, you can’t just call me a bad person. I’m a very, very good person, you know," Lin Kuang said, feigning a wounded expression.

"Hmph, you’re clearly just a jerk!" With that, Yang Ruoxi turned and stalked off.

Seeing this, Lin Kuang simply grinned and followed after her. The two chatted as they walked, soon arriving at the Yang Family’s villa. After greeting Yang Ruotong and Xinxin, Lin Kuang followed Yang Ruoxi upstairs to transfer True Qi to her.

Half an hour later, they chatted for a bit before heading downstairs. From there, Lin Kuang went straight back to Liu Shilin’s villa. After finishing breakfast with Liu Shilin, they drove to the company at a little past eight.

When they got to the company, Lin Guo’er and the others were already there. Considering what had happened the day before, everyone was quite worried and had come in early.

"Shilin, another fifteen of our franchisees’ shops were smashed today. They were warned not to act as agents for our Yashi brand anymore, or they’d face even more severe consequences," Duoduo relayed the information from the distributors to Liu Shilin, her voice filled with fury.

Although Liu Shilin had been prepared for this, her expression still turned grim upon hearing the threat. Taking a deep breath, she said, "Don’t worry, Duoduo. Just continue with the plan we discussed.

"We will cover all of their losses, including the business they’ll lose during these few days of repairs. Tell them not to worry."

"Yes, I’ve already passed on the message," Duoduo said, pouting angrily. "It’s just that those people are so infuriating! How dare they do something so blatant!"

"It’s alright. We just have to endure it a little longer. Things will get better soon," Liu Shilin said with a comforting smile, though inwardly she was just as upset.

Hearing this, Duoduo could only nod.

Following Liu Shilin back to the office, Lin Kuang’s thoughts turned to Hu Run. That guy’s the chief of the Public Security Bureau... should I give him a call? Have him step in and put a stop to Leopard Hall’s arrogance?

After a moment’s thought, however, Lin Kuang decided against it. The Eagle Sect is already preparing to move against Leopard Hall. Having the police get involved right now wouldn’t be a good thing.

The rest of the morning was quiet, with no major incidents.

After lunch, Lin Guo’er called Lin Kuang into her office.

Looking at the alluring beauty before him, Lin Kuang couldn’t help but chuckle mischievously. "What’s up, Guo’er? Did you miss me?" he asked with a grin, pulling her into his arms.

"Hmph. As if I’d waste my time missing you," Lin Guo’er huffed, letting him hold her. "I need you to help me with something tonight."

"Oh? You need my help?" Lin Kuang asked with a grin, his deep eyes filled with curiosity. "You, of all people, need me for something? Tsk, tsk. Go on, what is it?"

"It’s nothing major. My family wants to introduce me to a potential boyfriend," Lin Guo’er said irritably. "To put it bluntly, it’s a marriage alliance for the sake of greater profit. I have absolutely no desire to marry that playboy, so... you’re going to pretend to be my boyfriend tonight."

"Oh? So it’s true, business people really are heartless," Lin Kuang said with a grin, looking at her slightly flushed, angry face. "But do I really need to *pretend*? I’m already your boyfriend."

"Hmph! Who knows *whose* boyfriend you are," Lin Guo’er retorted, rolling her eyes at him.

"Well, I’m yours, anyway," Lin Kuang said, his curiosity piqued. "So, tell me. Who is this guy?"

"The Zhao Family of East Sea. Their wealth is second only to the richest man in the city. The guy is the son of the current Zhao Family Head, and his name is Zhao Shunyang." Just saying the name made Lin Guo’er’s expression sour. "He’s a typical playboy, a spoiled scion. Who even knows how many women he’s ruined."

"Huh? Zhao Shunyang?" Lin Kuang couldn’t help but laugh. "What a name! His dad must have a real sense of humor. That’s hilarious."

"Hey, stop amusing yourself," Lin Guo’er said, clearly annoyed. "Even though he’s a playboy, he’s actually very smart. He manages his company meticulously. He’s basically the designated successor for the Zhao Family." Despite her annoyance, she had to admit she respected Zhao Shunyang’s management skills.

"Alright, fine. But aren’t you just throwing me into a pit of fire? A family that powerful will crush me like a bug," Lin Kuang said with a wronged expression.

"Hmph. Stop playing dumb with me," Lin Guo’er snapped. "Are you going to do it or not?"

"Of course! Of course, I’ll go!" Lin Kuang said, patting his chest emphatically. "My dear Guo’er has spoken. Forget the Zhao Family, I’d go for you even if it meant walking through a mountain of blades or a sea of fire!"

"Hmph. That’s more like it," Lin Guo’er said with a little hum, her tone turning somewhat coy.
