Unrivaled Soldier in the City-Chapter 116 True Identity
"You’re here?" Seeing Lin Kuang seated on the sofa, Yang Ruoxi couldn’t help but ask.
She had just finished her bath. Her hair was still damp, and she wore a long bathrobe that revealed a hint of her slender calves.
"Yeah, I just arrived. Ruotong mentioned you were in the bath. I thought you’d be in there for a few hours," Lin Kuang teased with a grin.
Upon hearing this, Yang Ruoxi glared at him, her pretty face turning a shade of red as she recalled what had happened yesterday.
"Come upstairs with me," she snapped, then turned and walked upstairs.
Lin Kuang followed without ceremony. Just before he headed upstairs, however, his gaze fell upon Yang Ruotong in the kitchen, who happened to be looking at him. When their eyes met, she blushed and quickly turned away.
Lin Kuang chuckled to himself as he climbed the stairs and entered Yang Ruoxi’s room. She was already sitting on the bed, apparently waiting for him.
Without any hesitation, Lin Kuang sat behind her and began channeling his potent, vigorous True Qi into her body. Perhaps because she had just bathed, her scent was incredibly appealing. He couldn’t tell if it was her natural fragrance or something else, but in any case, it made it difficult for him to focus.
Nevertheless, Lin Kuang didn’t say much. After diligently infusing True Qi into Yang Ruoxi, he got off the bed. Thanks to this period of treatment, her health had improved tremendously. Even without his infusions of True Qi, she could now live for many more decades without fearing for her life.
"All done with you, Ruoxi?" Lin Kuang asked with a grin as he got off the bed.
"Hmph. Now that you’re done, you can go home, right? Or are you planning to stay the night?" Yang Ruoxi turned around and glared at him, speaking in an annoyed tone.
"Well, I’d actually love to stay... I wonder if Miss Yang would be willing to take in this humble servant?" Lin Kuang said playfully, making Yang Ruoxi burst out laughing.
"You jerk! Who would dare take in a rogue like you?" she retorted with a pout, seemingly convinced that he was, in fact, a rogue.
"Ahem! Ruoxi, you can’t say that. I’m an upstanding, good person! You’re insulting my character!" Lin Kuang argued earnestly, puffing out his chest as if to prove his integrity.
"Pfft. As if anyone would believe that," Yang Ruoxi said with a curl of her lip, completely unconvinced.
"Fine, fine. I’ll be going then. But... what about a little reward?" Lin Kuang asked with a mischievous grin, his eyes fixed on her adorable face. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
At his words, Yang Ruoxi’s face flushed crimson. She shot him a fierce glare. "Go to hell, you bastard!" she said viciously, then spun around and stormed off.
Seeing this, Lin Kuang couldn’t help but chuckle. He went downstairs, bid farewell to Yang Ruotong and Yang Ruoxi, and finally left the Yang Family villa.
Meanwhile, at a club in East Sea, Ye Tiannan was enjoying the services of a beautiful woman. Her skills were apparently quite good, putting him in a pleasant mood and piquing his interest. However, just as his excitement peaked, a knock on the door completely shattered his good mood. He had been frustrated for the past few days, as his multiple attempts to deal with Lin Kuang had all ended in failure. Yesterday, he had even tried to use someone else to do his dirty work, but Chu Zhongtian hadn’t taken the bait, which only soured his mood further. Today, the woman had finally lifted his spirits, but this interruption caused all that pleasantness to vanish in an instant.
"Who is it?!" Ye Tiannan shouted in annoyance after pulling on his pants.
"Young Master Ye, it’s me, Liu Dong," a respectful voice came from outside the door.
Hearing it was Liu Dong, Ye Tiannan’s expression softened slightly. "Come in."
Liu Dong quickly opened the door and entered, seeing Ye Tiannan sitting shirtless on the sofa. The woman was lying obediently on the bed, covered by a blanket.
"Young Master Ye," Liu Dong said respectfully as he approached.
"What is it?" Ye Tiannan asked nonchalantly.
Liu Dong didn’t answer immediately, instead glancing at the woman on the bed—a gesture Ye Tiannan naturally understood.
"You can leave for now. I’ll call you back in later," Ye Tiannan said to the woman with a wave of his hand.
The woman agreed and, unbothered by Liu Dong seeing her, quickly dressed and left the room.
Once she was gone, Ye Tiannan turned his attention to Liu Dong. "What’s the matter? Speak."
"Yes, Young Master Ye. It’s about your investigation into Lin Kuang’s identity... We have news!" Liu Dong said, his voice filled with excitement.
"Oh? You have news? What is it? Tell me, quickly," Ye Tiannan urged. A deep resentment had been festering inside him, and he worried he might suffocate if he couldn’t vent it. Clearly, Lin Kuang was the source of it all.
"Young Master Ye, Chu Zhongtian had Chen Feng over last night. It looks like he also bought intel on Lin Kuang from him. Nothing happened afterward, but I just found out what information he bought. This Lin Kuang is no big shot. He’s a mercenary from overseas. He’s capable, sure, but he’s just a mercenary. He has no power or background here in the country. So, if you want to take care of him, you don’t need to hold back anymore," Liu Dong said with a smile.
"Really? Is the information accurate?" An elated Ye Tiannan sat up straight on the sofa, his eyes gleaming with surprise. He had been hesitant to make a lethal move precisely because he was worried about Lin Kuang’s background. He feared provoking someone he couldn’t afford to offend, which would have unimaginable consequences. But now, if Lin Kuang had no backing and was merely a mercenary, what did he, Ye Tiannan, have to fear?
"It’s absolutely certain! Many members at the Xiangya Club have heard it. Apparently, the news was accidentally let slip by Han Fei, Han Qiaoqiao’s brother. You know what that kid Han Fei is like—a total wastrel who loves to show off. If the news came from him, it has to be true," Liu Dong said, his eyes glinting shrewdly.
Hearing this, Ye Tiannan breathed a sigh of relief. If the information came from Han Fei, it was almost certainly true. He knew Han Fei’s character well. The kid was a brainless playboy who couldn’t wait to let the entire Earth know every little thing he discovered. How could someone like that spread false information?
But it was precisely because of this reasoning that Ye Tiannan fell for the trap, for Lin Kuang’s supposed identity was a complete fabrication by Chu Zhongtian.
