Unlimited estates for rural beauty-Chapter 470: Encountering Bandits (2)
The bandit leader, Huo Yaotian, heard this and turned his head to look at the two kids, nodded in satisfaction, and thought it a good idea, "Fine, if this matter is handled well, I won’t treat you unfairly, but if you fail, you’d better watch out for the organ you use to eat your food!"
"Yes, yes, yes, how could I, Old Li, dare to deceive you!" he said nervously, rubbing his hands together with a smile on his face.
"Hmph, I guess you wouldn’t dare," Huo Yaotian dismissively said, resting the broadsword on his shoulder and waving his right hand. Two of his men came forward and dragged the two children out of the carriage.
Old Li quickly drove the carriage back the way they had come.
Yueyue and Qiqi, dragged out of the carriage, were indignant and struggled, turning their heads to speak to the scar-faced Huo Yaotian, "We are quite valuable, and if you don’t treat us well and we get hurt, watch out that you don’t get the ransom. And be even more careful about your own lives."
"Oh, look at that, threatening us now, tsk, tsk, tsk, impressive," Huo Yaotian said with a sarcastic laugh, giving Yueyue a thumbs up.
Yueyue snorted, shrugged her shoulders, and flicked off the bandit’s hand that was on her shoulder, pulling her brother’s hand and staring angrily at Huo Yaotian.
The bandit whose hand was brushed off raised his hand to slap Yueyue’s delicate little face but was intercepted by Huo Yaotian, who frowned with displeasure at his subordinate, "Didn’t you hear what the little girl said?"
"Lead–, Bandit Leader, I was wrong."
"Hmph, let this be clear to all of you, before the ransom is secured, you are not allowed to harm them in any way. Otherwise, don’t blame me for being ruthless."
"As you command, Leader," they replied.
Huo Yaotian nodded in satisfaction and looked at the two children before summoning two men with a gesture, "You two, carry them up the mountain."
"As you command, Leader."
Qiqi and Yueyue let themselves be carried as the group quickly disappeared into the woods.
Wan Hun and Wan Hun saw that their young masters had been kidnapped by bandits. Seeing the Princess surreptitiously winking at the Crown Prince, Wan Hun and Wan Hun exchanged glances and followed swiftly. They wouldn’t intervene while the Crown Prince and Princess were not in danger, letting them have their fun.
In the evening, the bandit stronghold was noisy. A bandit guard brought in a plate of food and two buns, handing them over gruffly, "Here’s your food, eat up quick. I’ll be back to collect the plate." He then turned and left, slamming the door shut with a loud clang and locking it again.
Qiqi and Yueyue looked at the plate of cabbage and tofu with disdain, "Hmph, they dare to capture this Princess. I’ll make sure they regret this."
Qiqi paused with a bun in hand, "We need to replenish our strength quickly, eat up even if it’s just makeshift. We’ll need the energy to deal with them later."
"Yeah," Yueyue nodded vigorously, picking up a bun from the plate and biting into it fiercely, her little mouth stuffed full.
Half an hour later, when the bandit on watch came in to collect the plates, he saw that the two of them were reasonably well-behaved, and his guard gradually relaxed.
In the dead of night, all finally became quiet in the stronghold, with just a few men patrolling the area. Yueyue glanced at the time and decided it was right. She took out the sleeping potion hidden in her belt and, looking up at the window that was at least two heads taller than herself, a delighted smile appeared on her tiny face. Without a word, she exchanged a glance with her brother. He took the lead and lightly tapped his feet on the ground, dashing out of the window in a flash. Not wanting to fall behind, she immediately followed suit, soaring out after her brother. Once they regrouped, they quickly disappeared into the pitch-black night.
"Brother, where is the kitchen? I’ve been looking for ages and still haven’t seen it," Yueyue said, frowning and scanning the stronghold with her phoenix eyes.
Qiqi shook his head: "Let’s keep looking, it can’t be far."
As dawn was approaching, they finally found the kitchen in a courtyard within the stronghold. Yueyue took out the sleeping potion from her sleeve and poured it all into the well in one breath. As she watched the powder dissolve into the water with bubbles popping, Yueyue and Qiqi couldn’t help laughing, their small figures quickly vanished into the stronghold again.
The next day, the bandit came once again to bring breakfast to Qiqi and Yueyue, but they both quietly threw it away and then closed their eyes, pretending to sleep. After half an hour passed without anyone coming to collect the dishes, they restrained their impatience. A while later, still seeing no one, the two felt triumphant. They pulled at the door to find it locked, so they jumped out of the window once more. Seeing several men lying around on the ground, Qiqi and Yueyue took their belts off, tied everyone up with their hands behind their backs, and after thoroughly searching to make sure there were no hidden daggers or the like, they finally relaxed. They went to the dining hall and found Huo Yaotian fast asleep on the table. Yueyue slapped him back and forth across the face, then joined her brother in tying him up. It took them a great effort, that of nine oxen and two tigers, to tie up everyone in the stronghold. After counting the people, they realized the stronghold was not short of men. The two sat down to rest on the steps of the main hall when suddenly, they heard an astonished cry, as if calling out to someone.
Realizing there was a fish that had slipped through the net, Qiqi and Yueyue exchanged looks. Qiqi opened her small mouth: "There’s a fish that got away."
"Yeah, what should we do, brother?"
"I’ll distract him, then you knock him out."
Yueyue looked at her brother with concern, but he simply smiled and whispered, "Don’t worry, Qinggong is my forte."
Upon seeing his sister nod, Qiqi lightly tapped his foot on the ground and soared off. The bandit saw a shadow fly by and upon closer inspection, realized it was the little brat they had captured the day before.
"Your partners have all been knocked out by me; how do you like this masterpiece?" Qiqi said to the bandit with pride.
The bandit gripped the machete in his hand, still unable to comprehend how this little boy in front of him managed to knock out the entire stronghold. He became more wary, focusing all his attention on Qiqi.
Seeing the bandit’s focus entirely on him, Qiqi’s stern little face revealed a sly smile as he beckoned the bandit with a crooked finger, taking delight in the bandit’s misfortune.
Yueyue saw that the bandit had his back to her and seemed unaware of her presence, so she gripped the pouch of powder tightly. This powder was different from the sleeping potion used in the well water; it was a newly developed hallucinogenic drug, and she hadn’t tested it on anyone yet. Figuring that letting him be her guinea pig wasn’t too hard on him, a brilliant smile crossed her face.
She quickly stepped forward, toes barely touching the ground, and sprinkled all the powder over the bandit’s head before swiftly turning away to join her brother.
The bandit only felt something on his head, and as he looked up, a packet of white powder scattered down over him. By the time he thought to dodge, it was already too late.
After a moment, seeing no reaction from him, Yueyue suspected her drug might have been mixed wrong and was about to fight desperately when a miracle happened. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
The bandit glared angrily at a figure in front of him, brandishing the machete in his hands, his eyes crimson, yelling, "Damn it, Huo Yaotian, I’m going to chop you down today, take over as the boss of this stronghold, lead my brothers to live the good life; I’ve had enough of you."
