Unlimited estates for rural beauty-Chapter 411: Messing with the Marriage Arrangements (1)
Feng Xuxu arched an eyebrow in silent agreement. The colorful lotus was a product of her space and was inherently rare. In the past, she might have given one to him for the sake of him being Dugu Chen’s big brother, but ever since she found out that he unscrupulously spent Silver to buy her husband’s life, now thinking about wanting such a thing seemed to be taking her for a fool. It was a good thing she hadn’t settled the score with him, and yet he had the audacity to come looking for discomfort.
"Hmph, just thinking about him fills me with fury. Husband, what should I do if I want to kill someone?" Pouting, she looked up with a raised gaze.
"How can I let my wife’s delicate hands get dirty? If anyone must die, it should be your husband who takes action." Dugu Chen looked down at her, adoringly smiling back.
Alright, her husband was truly a loyal dog type. Since someone had made her unhappy, then she’d have to return the displeasure. He wanted an antidote? She’d make sure he could never hope for one in this lifetime. Hmph, the nerve of that little guy, thinking she was easy to bully. He he he, it was a good time to try the "Fatal for You" pill she had concocted herself in her space. She had been worried about not finding a subject, but here one had conveniently appeared.
Dugu Chen saw that his wife was smiling rather wickedly and instinctively felt chills down his spine. It seemed that someone in the Imperial Palace was about to have some seriously bad luck. Shaking his head, he thought it unforgivable that of all people, one would choose to provoke his wife.
Back in the study, he swiftly wrote a few words and tucked them under the eagle’s foot, then fed it some Spiritual Spring Water and a plump rabbit raised in the space. The eagle affectionately rubbed Feng Xuxu’s hand with its head, opened its beak, and curled its tongue.
"Alright, little fellow, off you go. Back to my cousin." She stroked its smooth feathers and opened the window. The eagle hopped onto the sill, turned its head to look at Feng Xuxu one last time, and flew away with apparent reluctance.
Feng Xuxu watched the eagle fly off, naturally feeling terrible. Her expression was forlorn, and she lacked the spirit to do anything.
Xiaobai followed the young mistress out of the room and saw the familiar eagle flying away, then trotted with its tail wagging into the study.
"Sister." It jumped onto the desk. Seeing Feng Xuxu sitting there listlessly, it called out in a soft voice.
She half-opened her eyes and then they drooped again, "Xiaobai, Xiaoying just flew away."
"Yes, I saw. If sister likes, I can go to the mountains to catch some more and raise them in the space." Xiaobai felt a pang of loss seeing his sister in such a mood.
Feng Xuxu took a deep breath and nodded, "Good, bring more back. And they don’t all have to be eagles."
"Alright, I’ll go right now." Xiaobai was about to jump off the desk when Feng Xuxu swiftly pulled him into an embrace.
"No, you have another place to go today, to find someone to test a medicine for me." She tapped his cute nose.
Xiaobai rolled his tiger-like eyes and flicked his ears, "Sister, which medicine are you talking about?" It seems sister made a lot of different kinds, each unique. Whenever she brought animals to test the medicines, they ended up either changing their sexual orientations or doing some sporadic twitchy dance the next day.
"Hehe, of course, it’s my latest concoction, ’Fatal for You’ pill."
Xiaobai looked at his sister’s lewd smile and shuddered involuntarily, "Is it that thing you were tinkering with today?"
"Yep yep, so clever. Tonight, take the pill and go to the Imperial Palace to find the old Emperor. Drug him, observe the effects, then come back to report to me."
Could Xiaobai refuse? He was sure if he dared, he’d be the next test subject for that pill. Thinking it better to keep his innocence, he decided to make the trip.
Inside the Imperial Study of the Imperial Palace, the Emperor was frenetically reviewing documents with a Vermilion Brush in hand when he suddenly sneezed violently, without reason.
Dugu Han put down the brush and rubbed his nose, looking around the grand hall. There was no feeling of a breeze, so why did he feel a chill down his spine? Suspectingly lowering his head, he continued with his tasks.
