Unexpected Marriage: She is the Sugar Mommy!-Chapter 341: Are You Looking Forward to It?
Seraphina Sinclair hadn’t reacted yet when she found herself thrown onto the large bed with her head buried.
She panicked instantly, waving her small hands and shouting: "Desmond Fairchild, what are you doing? We’ve already broken up, don’t you...
"Don’t what?" came Desmond Fairchild’s teasing voice from above.
Seraphina Sinclair lifted the bath towel and saw Desmond Fairchild already standing by the bed in a bathrobe, arms crossed, looking at her leisurely. His deep, black eyes like a serene pond carried a hint of a smile, and the corners of his lips turned up, revealing his good mood at the moment.
Seraphina’s face turned even redder, and a hint of anger appeared in her clear eyes: "Are you mocking me?"
"I never said I wanted to do anything to you, did I?" Desmond feigned innocence, spreading his hands with a smile reaching his eyes.
"Desmond!" Seraphina yelled at him angrily.
Seeing her small, flushed face, Desmond found her even more endearing and couldn’t help but tease her. He leaned down and pinned the just-sitting-up Seraphina onto the bed, his raspy voice full of seduction: "What’s the matter? Are you eager for me to do something to you?"
Seraphina was both embarrassed and annoyed: "Who is eager, that’s completely nonsense."
Desmond nodded thoughtfully: "Oh? If you aren’t eager, why are you so angry?"
"None of your business!" Seraphina’s little face turned bright red with anger, and she pushed against Desmond with her small hands, "If you keep acting like a rogue, I’m calling the police."
Desmond’s handsome eyebrows raised charmingly: "The police aren’t interested in our affairs."
"Rogue!" Seraphina took a deep breath, wondering where Desmond had picked up such a ruffian air recently.
Seeing her face so red it was about to bleed, Desmond couldn’t bear to tease her any longer and got up to sit properly.
Just then, Chloe Irving, worried about something happening to Seraphina after hearing noises from her room, kept knocking on her door: "Madam, are you alright? Is something wrong? It sounded like there was noise coming from your room?"
Seraphina glanced at Desmond, intending to respond, but saw Desmond stride toward the door, open it abruptly under Seraphina’s shocked gaze, and naturally said to Chloe Irving: "One cup of coffee, one glass of milk."
Seeing the man at the door, Chloe Irving was scared silly and stammered: "Master Fairchild, when did you get here?"
How come she didn’t hear anything?
"Coffee, milk." Desmond ordered in a low voice, his eyes slightly darkened.
"Yes, I’ll get it right away." Chloe Irving quickly shut her mouth. How could she dare to question Desmond’s temper? It wasn’t her place to meddle in his affairs.
Desmond was only ever in a good mood in front of Seraphina. Normally, he was an unequivocal tyrant. Chloe Irving internally grumbled but moved quickly to brew a cup of coffee for Desmond.
As for the milk, it was obvious that it was for Seraphina.
But when did these two reconcile? She wasn’t aware of any of it.
Carrying coffee and milk to Seraphina’s room, Chloe Irving actually wanted to gossip. However, since Desmond found her presence annoying, she was ordered to vanish the moment she placed the items down.
Reluctantly, Chloe Irving closed the door, very curious about what might happen inside.
Yet things didn’t develop as Chloe Irving had hoped, nor did the two reconcile. This time, Seraphina didn’t invite Desmond over to discuss matters of love.
Who could imagine a couple freshly bathed and in pajamas sitting on a couch discussing another man?
"Regarding Eric Holt, I think you can tell me now." Seraphina took a sip of hot milk before getting to the point of today’s discussion.
"Initially, I didn’t intend for you to know about this, but what Quentin said made sense. Rather than protecting you in the dark, it’s better to let you understand the situation." Desmond pondered for a long time before finally deciding to tell Seraphina the truth.
"Alright, go ahead." Seraphina nodded slightly, adopting a listening posture.
Desmond sighed and began to tell her everything: "Actually, I knew about Eric Holt’s existence long ago. This matter traces back to my childhood..."
Seraphina sat perched on the sofa, seriously watching Desmond’s thin lips, afraid of missing a single piece of information.
"In my memory, my parents always seemed very loving. At that time, they were one of the most envied couples in our circle. Until that woman appeared, everything changed afterward..."
Although Desmond didn’t specify who that woman was, Seraphina knew it must be Eric Holt’s mother.
"After she appeared, my father started frequently staying away from home, always using work as an excuse to stay at her place. Meanwhile, my mother was pregnant with me. Despite suspecting my father’s infidelity, she didn’t make a fuss. Until I was safely born, their conflicts gradually intensified. My mother suffered from severe postpartum depression after childbirth and often lost control."
At this point, a bitter smile emerged at the corners of Desmond’s lips: "Her temper worsened, especially after confirming my father’s affair. She became increasingly unstable and was prone to violence against him, losing all her debutante composure. Yet, she loved me dearly; whenever she was with me, she tried her best to control her emotions, afraid of scaring me."
Recalling his mother’s image from memory, Desmond felt a pang of heartache.
She was a good mother and a good wife, but unfortunately, she married the wrong person.
Hearing this, Seraphina bit her red lip tightly, feeling mixed emotions in her heart. As a woman, once betrayed by her ex-husband, she deeply understood Desmond’s mother’s feelings. Anyone would break down if their beloved man cheated during their pregnancy.
Desmond’s expression of bitterness made her heart ache, realizing he also had such a painful past, which she only learned about now.
She thought she treated Desmond fairly well, yet now she realized how thoroughly wrong she was. Desmond knew everything about her and was always considerate of her, while it seemed she never truly understood him—unaware of his stomach ailments, his preferences, or his hobbies.
She suddenly realized she knew nothing about Desmond, yet desperately demanded his goodness without ever doing anything for him.
For a moment, Seraphina didn’t know how to face Desmond. However, Desmond, oblivious to her self-reproach, continued his story.
"Initially, my father was compliant and loving to my mother, which is why his initial deep affection made it impossible for her to accept his infidelity. Now, thinking back, if he hadn’t been good to her from the beginning, perhaps she wouldn’t have gone mad."
Seraphina acknowledged Desmond’s reasoning: "Indeed, without expectations, there would be no disappointment, nor..."
