They surrounded Gu Xi’s Stone Golems, communicated briefly, then a man dressed as a mage flew over on a magic carpet.

This mage was evidently representing the academic faction, wearing clothing with various pockets as if always ready to handle different situations.

On his back was a large backpack filled with magical materials and small gadgets not currently needed.

On the magic carpet itself, there were crystal balls and various spices and mysterious items.

Gu Xi could even feel a stable magical force field forming on the magic carpet.

Before reaching the Soul-Devouring Valley, this mage rose from the magic carpet, took a glance at Gu Xi’s troops, then bowed toward Gu Xi’s position.

"Honorable sir, I am a hero under the command of Mr. Fang Kang, Star of Eternal Brightness; you may call me Hart. Your intentions and situation have been communicated to me by the Stone Golems.

We can manage the battle here; if you need, please proceed along the small path to the east, just avoid encroaching within fifteen kilometers of the battlefield to prevent unnecessary misunderstandings."
